Voting problems, recount, and inevitable Romney win.... A worried US CITIZEN I Am....

7  2012-11-06 by [deleted]

These machines are apparently picking Romney by default, calibration is off on machines, and we have areas where votes probably will not be counted corrected cause of the hurricane...

This worries me, say what you will about Obama but he's not the guy we want to lose... Romney is going to really hurt this country and we are going to witness a civil divide unlike no other if he wins this bullshit...

Going to vote now, I will post any nonsense I encounter...

Also going to a church to vote is wrong, they shouldn't have any hand in this considering how fucked up religion is in this country and we obviously know religious folks love their mitt..

I got a real bad feeling about this election

Doesn't matter they both work for the same fucking crooks.

Why I think your concern is useless is because it's probable that all votes aren't counted and that puppets...I mean presidents are not at all determined by voting. So don't worry about it. We have no choice either way.

I am about 70% sure you are right. The grown ups version of punch and judy. It's likely that either candidate is acceptable to those who matter.

It's likely that either candidate is acceptable to those who matter.

So how does that preclude voting? Please think before posting

I'm not exactly sure i am following your argument.

The fact that either candidate is acceptable would be a logical testament to voting. In that the elites select 2 candidates of which both are acceptable to them (them being the 1% as opposed to the 99% of us which may not agree) and allow us to select between the two. That would mean that votes count. That would imply that we decide between the two candidates.

Well yes, what you say is logical but Hobsons choice springs to mind. I think you have supplied an argument for why voting matters and does not matter.

Well, matters is a personal perspective. Does it matter to the elites whether Obama or Romney is elected, not likely. Does it matter to us? Yes, it can be quite the difference. Sure, maybe not on the issues that matter to them (it seems the M.I.C increases regardless, though maybe wars aren't sought in the same fashion - Obama seems a lot more reserved than Romney in this regard, I guess we might have to wait and see to know for sure).

But those aren't the only issues. I'm not interested in voting for a politician that wants to speed up the process by which the elites will pillage the U.S. A lot of people say Obama is doing/will do this. But to be honest, I don't really see it that way and I think those people are coming from personal biases about his natural positions on things like guns and tax policy.

Sad but true

But I can't sit here and Romney win without trying for the lesser evil

Ehh already checked off the list today

"Hey guys don't vote for Romney because it will divide the nation. Oh yeah, fuck religious people."

The hypocrisy is strong in this one.

The nation is already divided, on more than one issue

No joke. I was highlighting the OP's fantastic logic.

Where are your sources? How reliable are they? Only reason I ask is because I have a journalism class in 2 hrs. Just wanted to share with them.

I already said the fix was in

All my Obama friends will be eating their words when they claimed they didn't care about all the rights that were taken away the past 4 years. It was okay to strip civil liberties and allow the president to sign executive orders to take control of many aspects of our infrastructure when Obama was doing it. Now they might be stuck with Romney with all that increased power.

This does bother me.. But it would've passed eventually no matter if Obama signed it or not..

It amuses me that Obama supporters are so sure that the GOP is going to rig the election. Hey guys, maybe the Dems are the ones who will engage in voter fraud. Did you ever think of that? Or maybe both sides will, and it will cancel out.

No way... Have you seen the Republican National Convention? These people are fucking insane, they clearly stole one election back in 2000 and will clearly try and to do it again

I've heard people say this, but it isn't at all clear to me. I've seen very little evidence of election fraud in 2000. On the other hand, Ron Paul was clearly screwed by his own party in the primaries.

Little evidence? The whole thing was a scam, Gore should've been our President...

You can relax now.

I'm starting to think that Romney steals it, this is obvious, and half the nation takes to the streets in protest / riots. I worry about what comes after that.

I just got back from voting and cast mine for Johnson. Thought about leaving the president option blank but I had to throw support at someone. Good luck to all of us.

Man that's interesting. I haven't thought about that particular scenario, but r/politics is ripe with talk of voter fraud or manipulation already... What a shitstorm this could be... The way information is much more open than it was in 2000/2004, I don't know if an election could be stolen like that again without being "obvious". Anyway, wild times.

you are just another lefty liberal drone and a fucking moron. A church is an empty building on a Tuesday and there are a lot of them which is convenient. Maybe people who go to churches do love mitt Romney, but wtf are you worried about the vote is anonymous. I guess no one who goes to church could ever possibly be a democrat. Your vote is an illusion and the machines aren't off they are doing exactly what they were intended to do which is rig the election. Furthermore, Romney and Obama are two sides of the same coin so it doesn't make a difference.

While agree with the second half of your comment, just be cautious of your tone here. If you'll read the sidebar, we ask that everyone please be respectful of each-other. You won't convince him that Obama and Romney are essentially the same (he may know this) by cursing at him. Thank you, sir!

I apologize for calling you a fucking moron OP. I'm very frustrated right now. I voted for a candidate who has a snowball's chance in hell of winning with the foreknowledge that my vote wouldn't matter even if I voted for either of the front runners. Still, that shit about voting in a church is absurd. They are numerous and empty on Tuesdays and are ideal for a polling place. If you know who you are voting for beforehand what does it matter the political affiliations of the churchgoers?

That was a stand-up response. Thank you. This whole spectacle is frustrating, indeed. About the voting place issue, I haven't really thought much about it- I tend to agree with you, however. It very well may not be sound with keeping the church and state separate, but realistically, I don't think the voting location in this context matters at all.

I'm just saying having it at a church is a bad idea, all these religious fucks trying to push Romney/Republican candidates is wrong..

I dont pretend to know everything but I know enough, I am not a liberal but I will vote democratic over any republican. The whole party is a cult...
