Men in Olive Drab come to your door to collect your guns. What do you do?

Just curious to what your course of action would be. Take the scenario any direction you want. Ie- you knew they were coming 3 days in advance, you had chances to fortify. I don't care, Just looking for what you would do faced with a gun collection/confiscation. Maybe you'd just hand them over....

we often sing forgotten songs of forgotten times when we were young and and strong
what we had built now just rots in decay cats lived their lives dogs had their day
it wasn't the way it was supposed to be the knife long twisted born unto slaves who were supposed to be free

I would organize with all the hillbillies on my street, forming a battalion of pot-bellied rednecks, and cut a bloody-path of destruction across the country, all the way to the steps of congress, where the hang'ns would commence.
Oh wait, I dont have I gun. But I'd like to watch that shit. Hopefully they'll show some of it on the tv.

There's a video game in that. Redneck Rampage is already 20 years old; think about it.

My guns are family heirlooms. I'd hide 'em.
Two of the guns I own are shotguns that belonged to my grandfather as a young man, one is a pistol that belonged to my grandmother, and I have a .22 that was given to me on my 13th birthday. I don't even have shells for the shotguns, but I keep them cleaned and oiled. I take the pistol to the range every once in a while.
I taught my sons to shoot with the .22 rifle. I can't imagine given them up for some misbegotten idea that they will someday be used in a gangland shooting or something. They're just not.

Nothing, as I do not own any guns.

I've shot them before, they aren't bad, I've just never had the need for one.

"Sorry I don't answer the door for strangers. If you have a warrant, feel free to break down the door."

Short answer: Bug Out. Everyone who follows this sub should also follow /r/survival. Always be ready, always be watchful.

Does that work when they're at the door?
1 BearIsDrivingCar 2012-12-24

3 mooremulah 2012-12-24

Nice try, BATF.

my first thought would be....hmm, what kind of a honey pot question is this?
0 TUZU 2012-12-24
lol I give them like a bb gun and a 22 and say "o that's all the guns I have now please leave." If that doesn't work well I don't feel I should say that over the internets
0 [deleted] 2012-12-24
Kill them all
0 no1113 2012-12-24
Give them the ones I have and keep the ones I have hidden elsewhere.
Then join the resistance to fight them using the guns I hid from them.

I would sit in Europe roaring with laughter watching a show on MTV called "Takkin'ur'Gunz!" drama popcorn in my left hand, witnessing rednecks get dragged away to FEMA camps, inner cities of the US burning, the US tearing itself to shreds. I would be overjoyed.
2 s70n3834r 2012-12-24
Had a look at Greece lately, smug guy? How about Spain? Or doesn't your beloved popcorn machine dare show you that sort of thing
3 mooremulah 2012-12-24
This is what scares me. I work in container shipping and collapse would render most Americans without access to food after only a few days. The amount of stuff we move on to trucks at just my job alone is scary big.
2 s70n3834r 2012-12-24
Just-in-time; built to fail, like the rest of it. When they decide to pull the plug on us, they want to be damn sure that's exactly what happens.
1 KhanneaSuntzu 2012-12-24
shrug I spent seven weeks in Spain just now, in a business related vacation. Tenerife. Have a look...
http://blog.khanneasuntzu.com/?p=4565
So yes, I see it happen before my eyes. But if you propose a pepsi test of which collapse will be worse, I'd take the test any time. I am 100% convinced I'll live in the Netherlands. I feel secure here. I would not be so sure in the US.

Besides it is girl.
1 s70n3834r 2012-12-24
Sorry, should have guessed your gender from your username.
Famous last words: It could never happen here; I used to say them myself. Don't take my word for it; ask your great grandparents, if any are still around.
1 KhanneaSuntzu 2012-12-24
I agree and it is happening right in front of your face. Let me emphasize - fascism is the confluence of corporate interest with state governance. In such a climate the interests of people (let alone democracy and freedoms) are rescinded in favor of special interests. This process is clearly on the rise in Europe, but it had also clearly already won in the US. We still have some measure of civil protection and welfare state here.
What do you have? Nothing. Zilch. You are living in a continental fire sale.
1 mooremulah 2012-12-24
I bet they would make a show out of it. And don't get me started on FEMA camps!
