Reminder: Alex Jones isn't a brave crusader, nor is he a Black Propaganda double-agent: He's a con man and an entertainer

329  2013-01-08 by [deleted]

The only plot he's involved in is selling DVD's and bumper stickers to paranoiacs and the gullible. His demeanor is engineered to appeal to people who feel grossly unempowered and weakened by their day-to-day grind, and as a result fantasize about loudly and passionately calling out the powers that they imagine to be. Shaking his fist at someone on television to the point of embarrassing himself will sell more DVD's than any calm and rational discussion he could have had, this was entirely intentional and all part of his character.

No conspiracy folks, just an old fashioned snake oil salesman. Feel powerless, stupid, overwhelmed by this complex and seemingly nonsensical world? Have no fear, Alex is here to let you in on the big secret that it's all connected into one grand conspiracy that is conveniently easy to fathom and link to any news story just by reading the headline! What a smart, special, and empowered person you are, to be in on this secret too, buy another DVD so you can feel this even more.

Thank you. I am so tired of EVERYTHING being a conspiracy. No, Alex Jones isn't a Mossad double agent black ops false flag CIA counter intel specialist like some on this subreddit suggest. He's a fucking dude from Texas who figured out how to make a decent payday peddling conspiracy stuff.

He's a hot head and salesman for sure, but he also cares about the constitution and it doesn't take a conspiracy theorist to see it is under threat.

Yes it does.

You in a free speech zone bro?

Do you work for the CIA?

(Kidding)

At the moment I think he's just misguided. To begin with he made a few good points and then it's almost as if he got carried away with his own voice. I would have to see his bank balance to assume what you have.

There's no way you can call Alex Jones "misguided." Everything he does is with the intention of creating something sensational. He uses his "crazy rant style" so often, he should own the patent for it.

What he says and how he says it is all carefully constructed to be loud, outlandish and memorable. If the interview with Piers was conducted in a civilized, respectful tone, no one would be talking about him two days later. But bloviate about Americans starting another revolution if their guns are taken away and everyone will remember your name.

So now what's happening are people that may have only mildly have heard the name Alex Jones are checking out his websites and reading his articles and possibly buying his products.

It pays to be seen as crazy.

True, everything you have said I can get behind. I just don't buy into the "he's in it for the money" line. I think he genuinely but at the same time misguidedly cares about what he talks about. There are a lot of holes in what he says. Perhaps he can be accused of providing such weak counter arguments that everyone who is anti gun control will be seen on his level (perceived as crazy by yahoo etc.) but as I said earlier I would have to see his bank account to assume he's in it for the money, and I don't think he has his own jet... yet?

Well in 2011, his reported net worth was $5 million. Of course, that's not actual cash money in his bank account. That's how much his empire is valued at right now.

Wow, I'm in the wrong business! Thanks for letting me know. Oh and forgot to say kudos for;

He uses his "crazy rant style" so often, he should own the patent for it.

you can watch all his movies for free though :/

That's what he uses to get people to tune into his shows, where he has you buy stuff. The "Films" are just to help drive his name brand.

yeah, probably. i don't buy into conspiracies due to all the loose ends and lack of evidence. i think some people just want the world to burn.

Alex Jones makes only the money that his boss, ultra-Zionist Jeffrey Smulyan (CEO Emmis 'Hebrew for truth' Communications) allows him to make.

He's the man who cuts the paychecks. Hence the Zionist-friendly nature of Alex's show.

Never forget this simple fact.

Easy there Ahmadinejad.

Yeah he's just kind of a greedy piece of shit but on some level the authorities choose to enable it because it furthers their interest.

They don't need to "enable" him, his income from merch sales does that.

This is pretty naive.

What I mean to say is they don't really address it. A lack of government transparency is what makes people believe aj in the first place. It furthers their interest that a lot of information is either false or non existent.

I don't listen to him very often but don't remember his ever saying the words Zionist or Mossad but maybe he has.

I don't think he's a conman. I've never been conned by him... he's never led me astray. I've been listening to him for a long time and he changed my perspective greatly but never conned me. If your intelligent enough not to believe everything someone says i think alex is healthy to listen to. You guys have so much against alex only because of his popularity. LOL it's like your a bunch of hipster conspiracy theorists.

The conspiracy is that he was allowed to argue on TV with Mr. Morgan instead of someone more eloquent like David Duke.

[deleted]

I guarantee you that Duke is opinionated when it comes to the 2nd Amendment.

David Duke ..the klansman?

Yes, he was a Grand Wizard when he was much younger. He left the organization long ago.

I signed into my account solely to upvote you.

Ty sir.

I'm tired of people complaining about him being successful. He isn't even close to perfect and I can't listen to him much anymore but he has led me to so many other great people and ideas that I'm glad he is out there.

I would like to see someone put out as much information and reach as many people as he has without advertising or selling anything.

[deleted]

Troll bait.

*You're

... seriously? This is all you could think to bring to the argument? Piss off.

Trolling on my spelling? I always mix those two up... i'm just lazy on the internet when i respond from my phone.

It's just a bit ironic you're talking about intelligence and you misspelled the word right before the statement...

Simple mistake that people make every day.

What? Fail at objectivity.

Was there something you didn't understand? Oh I've failed in your eyes... sorry professor.

You talk about liking Alex because you possess objectivity, and then you call anyone that doesn't like Alex a 'conspiracy hipster'.

That is a blatant fail. shrug I don't make the rules.

Use of the word "like" denotes a simile, which should not be confused with a direct comparison (ie 'calling everyone').

The intent, however, was clear.

Lol...

"he changed my perspective greatly"....by your own admission you have been conned....study controlled opposition and using your ideology against you.

I couldn't agree more. The first time I witnessed his act I knew he was out for profit. Nothing more. What a joke.

I've studied controlled opposition. Alex does a great job giving you alternative information. I was only sixteen when I stumbled onto him speaking about 9/11. Listened to him for about ten years consistently... and have heard all the points against him... especially the conspiracy theories. he's not controlled opposition because he never tries to be in control of the "movement". He always advocates self reliance and independent action. Yea he makes money off it and plugs his videos... he's a capitalist who cares.

Following that logic you can only trust your self.

Everyone could be false.

Even the source you see as true.

You know I've never really bought this argument. All his shit is free to watch on YouTube. How many people really go out and buy his overpriced stickers and DVDs? C'mon. Alex Jones really does believe in what he's talking about. Whether you agree with him or not. And it's not like he's the one who's exclusively talked about this stuff/made it up, ala David Icke. No there's been hundreds of books and people covering the same stuff. If there wasn't substance to the stuff he talks about, people wouldn't listen.

Thank you, at least AJ has the balls to fucking stand up and say something.

All his shit is free to watch on YouTube. How many people really go out and buy his overpriced stickers and DVDs?

I see the stickers everywhere, can't tell you about the DVD's. I can tell you also that most of his radio carriers pay him a syndication fee. There are also speaking fees, quite substantial, as well as more run of the mill merch he sells there like tshirts and hats. He isn't funding his company with over 30 employees out of his personal savings.

If there wasn't substance to the stuff he talks about, people wouldn't listen.

Right, it's not like there's an entire media complex that millions of people tune into that has little or no substance to speak of. It's not like Rush Limbaugh and the like are wildly successful broadcasters in spite of the utter idiocy they spew.

Of course he's going to try and make money off of what he does... It's his JOB. He's been doing it for 17 years and started out just broadcasting locally.

Why is it such a problem that he wants to make money off of something he devotes, literally, his entire life to?

STOP MAKING SENSE

;)

make t's instead. they're practically free in today's digital economy!

ttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt !

Not that you're at all wrong, but nobody is saying that's a problem. The person above you was just pointing out that the money for his operation doesn't come from nowhere.

granted he does shill for some contingency cases that have a low likelihood of being of much benefit to the purchaser (though in the extreme case where it does become a benefit it's a godsend. sort of like insurance i guess) but he doesn't strike me as a money lover. he does well, but he's no Rush Limbaugh.

if you were to ask him to give up every dime he has for the causes he espouses, if there was a guarantee that there would be substantive progress, he would do it. Rush, Beck, etc... they would not.

people buy that stuff because they want to. they want stickers and shit. he's not anti capitalist, he's anti powerful people conspiring to step on the throat of the less powerful to become even more powerful. I'm not even a fan but this much has always seemed obvious enough

His "operation"? From his compound?

Because it comes across that he is devoted to money, not exposing the "globalists" as he calls it. Otherwise why the angry man act, why alienate everyone but already disillusioned young males. All he seems to do is two fold 1. provide a service for his fan-boys 2. further discredit serious conspiracy research.

The fact that every word that comes out of his mouth is a lie.

"every word"? downvote... you just wasted everyones time

How?

well for every word to be wrong he would have to be speaking some sort of jibberish or something. but really, research the stuff he says. im not claiming it's 100%, but are you 100% correct on your 3 hour daily radio show that simulcasts video (for evidence reasons)? oh wait you dont have one. im not replying again, cause you have already bested me twice (shame on me) with illogical commenting

I see people with stickers of your favorite band, too. Holy shit they are collecting syndication fees, selling t-shirts and hats, fuck your favorite band man.

his DVDs are for sale at Best Buy. He makes more money than you could imagine.

Alex operates by selling money to advertisers, who then put their advertisements on his program. It doesnt matter if he gives the films away for free. That is just cheap advertising that gets people to tune into his show, where he can then tell his advertisers, "I have xx million listeners that will buy anything I tell them to buy."

That is how he makes his money. He doesnt have to convince you, he just had to get you to do his advertising for him.

Increasing his audience makes him more money, lets not kid ourselves.

What is particularly perverted is that the social machine we have created seems to have anti-social, anti-establishment, rebellious instincts incorporated into its design, hence we have Alex Jones, David Icke, Jon Stewart (not so much today as during previous administration), all the right wing crackpots, etc. They constantly appear on TV and help vent our frustrations but nothing organises around them because at heart they are entertainers.

To be fair, if you read bodhidharma6's comments he pretty much hates anyone who makes money doing anything as he is a communist. Go figure.

Really guys?

You realize there isnt some magic cave where you can walk into and you will find documents that tell you everything corrupt going on in the world, right? FIRST, you must speculate. The information will be hidden, so that involves going out on a limb and SPECULATING before more information comes your way. SPECULATION can be WRONG, but someone has to do it in order to encourage others to find truth for themselfs.

Information regarding consirpacies is usually well hidden, and sometimes you will be wrong. It doesnt make him a mis-info agent by the CIA, it makes him human.

Its called InfoWars, because he has to fight to get a lot of the information. Sometimes he looks like a fool in the process, but someone has to do it

Upvoted.

Alex has a market audience. Most of the people that browse this subreddit have no idea that Alex talks about those subjects daily with live call ins. Who cares that he makes money doing it. He's passionate about what he speaks. He might embrace theatrics to drive his points home but so what? Did he say anything anyone here really disagrees with?

Even when Piers went for the low-blow by bringing up 9/11 during a gun debate, Alex didn't waiver. He brought up the facts that he could speculate on without blaming anyone. He pointed the finger at SSRI's and how these pills are linked to suicide.

I think conspiracy needs to come to a consensus on Alex and that is that he is doing more good than bad. He asks you to think. Calling him a shill and a zionist is just paranoid delusions...

"Calling him a shill and a zionist is just paranoid delusions"

It's far less paranoid or delusional than you would have us think. Imho The man gets way too much air time on mainstream television for him to not be controlled dissent. I'm pretty sure his wife is Jewish too. Then there's his connection to STRATFOR. Didn't he have an employee that was ex cia propagandist? These are not paranoid delusions.

I'm not saying he's a full on shill but his "theories" have a distinct kosher flavor wherein he never ever cites the many crimes and curiosities committed by Israel, Zionist Hollywood/MSM, AIPAC, Certain members of the US GOV...

He is a lousy gate keeper. But your right about one think. AJ has a market audience. I imagine it's comprised of chain smokers who've given up on life.

He's pretty sure his wife is Jewish guys, case close.

Watch under your bed "the jews" are trying to get you!/Sarcasam

So everybody that is jewish is in the conspiracy?

you are pathetic

Lay down the weed my friend you are missing your mark!

he never ever cites the many crimes and curiosities committed by Israel, Zionist Hollywood/MSM, AIPAC

This is one of the reasons I pay little heed to Jones. That and his effort in barging in on a peaceful protest he found was occurring somewhere I forget and taking it over claiming the original protesters, when they confronted him, were all COINTELPRO.

The video's on the youtubes.

i don't smoke or drink and im very successful thank you

I just love it that he called out Piers Morgan, one of the scummiest people to ever walk the earth, on his own bullshit, his own crimes, the phone hacking scandal and all of that. Morgan should be deported for THAT shit.

I never really cared for Alex Jones, but compared to Piers Morgan he's like Glenn Greenwald.

wasnt someone murdered in the cell scandal? but i dont really have a problem with alex losing his temper as long as the shit checks out...

No. A murder victim's cell phone was hacked posthumously.

Regardless of what he is (Although there is some evidence that suggest he has some CIA dis-info ties), A con-man or a dis-info agent cannot and should not be trusted regardless. He does get a lot of stuff right, and actually I cannot recall any information he's actually gotten wrong (Granted, I've only watched his show for about 10 minutes and do not follow him outside of seeing his posts about him here or elsewhere), but to accept what he says as gospel, or to even to go out of your way to support him, is only harming our "movement". Fighting the NWO or whatever you'd like to call it doesn't need a leader even if they are credible or good (which most would agree AJ is teetering on). And anyone with a decent sense of logic and any understanding of the CIA should know that there is disinfo out there and you cannot and Should not get all or even a significant portion of your information from one source if you wish to be truly informed. For this movement to succeed by any means, we all need to be leaders, doing our own research.

cannot recall any information he's actually gotten wrong

He got his start in the 90s by heavily pushing Y2K bug fear. Lucky for him, 9/11 / Bush administration shenanigans bailed his ass out.

What did he say after Y2K?.

Same thing he always does when he's wrong--starts yelling about something else to distract his fans from his failure. Luckily for Alex, Bush administration shenanigans and 9/11 gave him plenty of fodder to work with.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, search Youtube for "Alex Jones Y2K." There are plenty of videos of him spreading Y2K bullshit.

haha..wait he never mentioned "yea, oops I was wrong about that", at all!?.

What are the biggest things he's gotten right?

ALEX JONES PREDICTS 9/11 IN JULY 2001

www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8Hk1-BpXO8

Jones stole that from William Cooper.

even a broken clock is right twice a day.

I really like that saying. I need to use it more.

Again, I have spent absolutely zero time researching his beliefs or his opinions, only seen a few clips or posts here, along with the film Invisible Empire (which takes the words right out of MSM stories for the vast majority of it's evidence) of which I have not found to be outright false. I would not be a good person to determine his level of competency in regards to accurate information. Although, as I said above, regardless of how accurate he is, he is still a fear mongering con artist at best, CIA shill at worst (from what I understand to this point).

I agree man...I can't stand him.

He is in every sense of the word a fraud. Even if 99% of what he said was true, this is still the guy that says Obama is going to put you in a fema camp and kill you, after he of course takes your gun away. That is not true whatsoever. There are a lot of good people out there who fear the future as there always has been, and he is conning them out of their money. But no, he needs to go to his commercials on his own show where he lists sources from his very own infowars. That is the equivalent of lying to someone and proving you're right by showing them a piece of paper with the same info that you wrote on it 20 minutes before hand. That is not the proper way to cite a resource.

A talk show host selling his movies and plugging his sponsors? Burn him.

Conspiracy to turn people against a man that is actually fighting to get the facts out. very sad

Don't forget: Divide and conquer. There seems to be an effort to discredit AJ, recently. To that I say, don't focus on the messenger, focus on the message. Fuck the shills who are out to assassinate his character.

Look. AJ has been in media a long time. He knows how to conduct himself, he knows how media use images to demonize. He knows. So why would he give them EXACTLY what they need to brand all conspiracy theorists(I prefer the term "free thinker"myself) as crazy? He went stark raving batshit crazy for no good reason. He's passionate. I get that. But he knows how that performance will be used. All the cable channels are running that clip. He's the poster boy for "crazy truther".

And, I'm sorry, but you can't tell me that wasn't by design.

Absolutely true.

And furthermore just look at what people do, instead of what they say.

for the first time in a long time, a post about alex in this sub that had upvotes happened just before the interview. by just before i mean the day before? two days?

it seemed very out of place to me to be the top post with that timing.

every message board i visit can't discount what he says, merely that he shouldn't be listened to in any capacity because getting animated means you can't be credible. some of these people have concerns about how he conducted himself in that interview, myself included, but definitely some are disinfo agents.

suggesting we should be calm and kosher with tyrants as they piss on our rights, wage wars in our name, and economically sabotage us is mindlessness or cowardice. on top of that it is a psyop to dictate what is acceptable discourse, in that anyone who cares about what they are saying is crazy.

thank you

Agreed! He is the way he is because of his vast following. He was clearly excited and this was a great platform to try and get out as much information as possible. Lets say the "truthers" rely on him the way most gun owners rely on the NRA. The average American does not know how to politically get things done they go to people like Alex. He is just a front man representing what once was, in a loosing battle with what now is Government.

He's a man fighting to pad his wallet.

I don't understand your problem.

He could as well had tried to have an 9 to 5 job. Instead he chose to fully go into conspiracy. And without being able to make money out of it, he wouldn't even be able to sustain himself.

Since when is making money demonized in this subreddit? It is just a necessity which needs to also be considered. The other option would have been to work for a corporation for a living.

the argument that Alex jones is illegitimized by his capitalist tendencies is absolutely Unjustified. It completely disregards the great efforts he's put in to establishing this movement.

It's the way he's making that money..

It doesn't seem to matter that he's made 10 years of sham predictions and claims, literally no one cares..

The FEMA camps, the martial law, the NWO taking over, the third world war are always juuust around the corner..

juuuust about to happen..

Which is why the paranoid and the gullible should keep buying those expensive efoods, water filtration units, silver dollars, family survival courses and whatever other crap he's hawking on his site

Fleecing the flock like there's no tomorrow

I wonder [but am honestly too lazy to check] how transcripts of Alex Jones & Glen Beck would compare if you put 'em side-by-side...some of their talking points...

It's been a lot longer than ten years of fear-mongering. He got his start by hawking survival supplies for the Y2K bug, which tells you how long he's been at this.

What do you have against making money? If he didn't generate revenue for his business, he wouldn't be able to employ the 30 or so reporters and IT people currently working for him.

Would you rather he live in a tiny, Agenda 21 approved apartment? Do you have something against private property ownership?

It isn't as if he's selling bad or unethical products. He sells DVDs, t-shirts and vitamins. Things that I genuinely believe, he believes, are products that have a positive influence on humanity.

It seems like you're either anti-capitalism, or jealous of his success.

Do you think he doesn't deserve money?

Everyone has got to get paid sometime.

Really? This is your hero? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WkGyAqVmCk

Hes not that far off.

I'm told you get extra facts if you buy at least three of his advertised products a month.

I was intrigued by what he had to say, that is until I realized that he is just another over inflated gas bag, like some of the people on mainstream media.

He loves buzzwords like neocon, nwo, and Illuminati. He loves to exaggerate everything he says. And his articles are generally mindless and focus on one or two topics from week to week. This week its 25 articles on gun control. Next week he will be back beating the tom toms over the TSA. Its almost kinda sad. The man has made a career on being a lunatic.

I'll be first to admit, he did change the way I saw things. Hut his schtick is too much for me to swallow and I can't handle his moronic ranting and raving.

And stop trying to shove that tangy tangerine down my throat. It tastes like shit and you are as fat as ever, stop saying that powered crap made you lose imaginary weight.

He and the other dude are both entertainers. What people seem to not understand is that what takes place on television, regardless of the sheen put on it, is entertainment. This was like watching wrestling.

the ONLY thing Alex freaking Jones does well is limbo under the lowest possible bar of human dignity

You can like Alex Jones or you can hate him. Just remember that what led you to him was your curiosity and need to know the truth. The moment you become more faithful to a means to information than to the truth itself, you've lost your way. I used to be a big Alex Jones fan. Then I realized that I could still learn and research the world without being afraid or angry all the time. Quitting Alex was a good decision for me, but I try not to discourage people from seeking truth by completely denouncing him.

I agree, it is a shame that he is living up to the nutjob stereotype of a conspiracy theorist, rather than an intellectual, reasonable person who wants to analyse all the facts critically before accepting something as fact.

You are so right. He's an entertainer. Nothing more.

The users of this subreddit would do well to heed OP's words on matters beyond Alex Jones...

[deleted]

[deleted]

Do you think that you might be acting like you have some sort of an agenda right now? That agenda being defend Alex Jones no matter what?

Defend him by saying he's a conman and an entertainer?

No thanks I think he's a shill.

Bill Cooper has bullshitted more than Alex Jones has. In his book he claimed Kennedy was shot by the driver, "you can see his nickel plated .45" In the zapruder film. This theory has been disproved many times. He later on a talk show claimed the driver shot Kennedy with a shellfish poison pellet from a specially made plastic pistol. He claimed he read all this from the "documents" he saw when he was in navy intelligence. Now why wouldn't he put that in his book instead of saying the gun was a .45? On top of the fact that the driver theory is retarded. I have a hard time following along with anything Bill Cooper had to say.

He's not a government agent, but by pushing the "New World Order is socialist" line he's hurting the cause of political revolution. Where are all the socialists in power (besides South America, a pocket of resistance)? The New World Order is capitalist; it's a system run by and for the transnational corporations and the financial entities like the IMF and World Bank that back them.

But the IMF and World Bank have socialist agendas. The framers of IMF were prominent members of Socialist and Communist parties. I mean, socialist economics are named for the guy who started the IMF, John Maynard Keynes. The transnational corporations are not capitalist either, because that would imply that they are pro-competition. I think we both know that is totally untrue, as these multinational corps want to monopolize rather than compete.

I think Alex would be better off using different terms like collectivist because it has less connotations, but these powers that be most definitely are not capitalists. They are collectivists who want to control all the resources and means of production, which is Marxist.

In my opinion, the terms socialist/communist/capitalist have no real meaning anymore since they've been misused and over-used for decades. Also, the guys who created Soviet style communism ran "capitalism" over here (read: None Dare Call it a Conspiracy). I'm thinking the best way to describe the current paradigm is feudal vs. anti-feudal.

I would agree completely. I would also note the collectivist vs. voluntaryist issue, because like you said those other terms really have no meaning. They're all collectivist, and are ideologically the same. We all are forced to support our govt's actions. Participation is compulsory (through taxation and govt sanctioned punishments/violence).

I disagree.

Here is is disrupting and discrediting a pro gun rally in Austin Texas.. He clearly has an agenda right now and that agenda is make anyone who wants to protect gun rights look like a complete idiot. And as you can all see he's done it before.

“The best way to control the opposition is to lead it ourselves.” -- Vladimir Ilyich Lenin

This is what Alex Jones is doing. This is the function that he serves. Where do you guys think he's getting all the money to do all this stuff? Ads? No, it's through his corporate handlers. The Ron Paul campaign for example.

The Editor in Chief of Infowars, Molly Maroney, even used to work for Stratfor.

And from there it just gets worse, and worse

There is evidence, but it seems thin to me. I live in Austin and have regular contact with people who have known Alex and worked with him on different rally's in the past. I even know the people in the gun rally video. That's John Bush speaking and Heather Fazio standing next to them. They're good people with real intent to spur change. Also, a fellow who used to be a professor at University of Texas and used to work with Alex to hold different rally's. All of them say the same thing. That Alex is genuine, but he is a megalomaniac. He want's to be the next George Washington. He truly believes there will be a violent revolution and afterwards he will be seen as one of the best patriots in the history of the country for standing up to the bad guys. Plus, the fact that Molly Maroney was an intern at Stratfor for 3 months hardly proves much. It is suspicious that with all AJ's cointelpro talk that he would hire her, but at the end of the day I'm still inclined to believe he is simply an egotist who needs to find a better way to deal with his emotions.

My own view of Jones is similar. His websites are actually great for news, but with the in house articles, the Nimmo &Watson stuff, look for sources that dont just link to previous jones articles that reference yet more jones articles. He HAS been caught fibbing before; something Coast to Coast AMs George Noory spoke about a few times.

As fair an assessment as ive seen. Thanks for the input.

All of them say the same thing. That Alex is genuine, but he is a megalomaniac.

That's interesting. Thank you for sharing this.

No why I'm saying this about them is because this is about a lot more than just one incident. It more about the role that I see Alex Jones playing in our culture.

He makes anyone who chooses to repeat what he is saying look like an absolute idiot. Especially after facts are checked. He consistently disseminates disinformation. If a fact checker was to try to fact check him they wouldn't even be able to keep up.

Maybe Alex Jones is just the right person for the job. Perhaps he is being manipulated himself.

I'm still inclined to believe he is simply an egotist who needs to find a better way to deal with his emotions.

I can respect that, but I still just think that on top of being a megalomaniac he is also a sociopath that happens to be very good at faking he's genuine.

Yes, I understand your stance. I agree to an extent. I said "I'm inclined to believe.." because I'm still on the fence myself. My arguement to these people that know AJ is basically he gets people riled up and scared shitless, then the only solution he has is, buy these fine products I'm graciously offering so you can save yourself. Oh, and don't forget to keep your guns oiled. At times it appears he's doing little more than trying to scare people and incite violence while capitalizing on people's fear.

I doubt he is being manipulated, but he certainly could be a sociopath. That is more than believable. Whatever the truth is, I still don't like the guy.

Fuck you....

It seems as though you might be having an emotional reaction to my post... I think you should calm down.

Molly Maroney is not the only issue here. Just look at who he is talking to:

"Alex Jones and his team of reporters, writers, and producers routinely schedule, host and quote former and current intelligence officials such as Dr. Steve Pechenik (DOD), Wayne Madsen (NSA), Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer (Senior Fellow at the Center for Advanced Defense Studies), David MacMichael (CIA), Ray McGovern (CIA), and James Wesley Rawles (ARMY Intelligence) just to name a few. These intelligence operatives provide Alex Jones’ listeners with unique insights into political, economic, and military developments. Alex Jones and Infowars use live reporting, websites, podcasts, video streams, videos, books, iPhone applications and a host of other media to attempt to explain and make understood world events."

I've seen some of the biggest lies he's ever told come from some of these people myself. It's clear to me that this is not simply some sort of a coincidence.

reality is based on facts, not speculation

You're on the conspiracy subbreddit....

Stop acting like a braindead child and realize

Is it really me that's acting like a child?

Learn to separate correlation from causation

I have. I've learned quite a bit about propaganda and how it works. This has nothing to do with separating correlation from causation. This is about Alex Jones being cointelpro...

Learn to think for yourself and not what some clown posts on youtube or some shite blog.

I am thinking for myself and this is what I think. You're only saying that because what I think isn't what you think and you don't like experiencing cognitive dissonance.

[deleted]

Just quoting something isn't gonna cut it bud.

I'm afraid that right now nothing I show you would.

If you look hard enough, everything looks like a conspiracy.

You're right, but I'm not just making these accusations on some hunch I've been following this issue for quite a long time. I'm come to the conclusion I have on my own.

Stop throwing around buzzwords to make others think you know more about them than they do.

I've gone to college to learn said buzzwords. I learned that one mentioned above in theories of personality, jackass.

I'm done here.

[deleted]

Thanks, and yes I have.

Perhaps lost in his hostile and overbearing presentation, he was able to state a few truths which are forbidden on the mainstream mind feed. Wish he could have done it with a little more calm and reason, but that isn't his style. Most MSM viewers will just take away that he came off as a raving angry madman.

What if that was his goal? If he works under someone with a broader agenda, couldn't this incident have been intentional to make the general public more dismissive of conspiracy theorists?

Alex Jones has his flaws. Who doesnt? The man makes a living doing what most of us are afraid too. Stand up, Take a stand and expose a the system for what it is. A lie.

Even with all his flaws he has done more in a single year to expose tyranny to the masses than most of the people here will do in a life time. Thats a fact.

I think he does get overly hype for sensationalism for his products or what not. BUT I do believe he believes in most of the stuff he talks about. Yesterday confirmed it for me, personally. When I saw him get angry an literally almost struck, Pierce. I don't believe that was acting at all.

I don't care if he's full of crap or not, really. As long as he wakes people up to the powerful elitist that this world has, I'm good.

Reminder: you have no better of an idea what Alex Jones is than anybody else on here.

tangy tangerine water filters with optional fluoride filters

He's a modern day evangelist for a growing market of conspiracy theorists and doomsday preppers

He's laughing all the way to the bank

Regardless, I feel that he didn't make gun owners look very good in the interview. If he would have been a bit more calm, it would have been more productive.

Yawn.

So, I'm not sure I'm understanding your position. We can argue all day about who Alex Jones is, but that would distract from the actual debate.

Do you agree with the arguments that Alex Jones put forward or not? If not what specific criticisms about his beliefs do you have, or what statements did he make that can be shown to be inaccurate.

Because he was either being deceptive, as you claim, or he was speaking the truth, and depending on which it is we can determine if he is selling items to fund the dissemination of the truth, or if he is deceiving in order to make a profit.

In order for us to believe your claims you need to provide some evidence showing that Alex Jones was being deceptive, and then we can follow your conclusion that he is a charlatan. If his statements are accurate and hold up to scrutiny then he is just raising funds to help promote the truth, but you haven't shown it to be either way, just talked shit about him without showing whether Alex is being deceptive or accurate. Which is it?

The real truth can usually be found somewhere in the middle.

Every time I hear Alex Jones' name, especially when doubled with 'conman' or the like, I always think about the No Agenda Show. http://noagendashow.com. All of the conspiracy/actual news you'd get from Jones (plus some), none of the seed/gold/survivor kit sales pitches. Best place for this kind of reporting anywhere.

I like Alex Jones. I've meet the man twice. we've done some pretty cool stuff together. I don't listen to the show but he turned me on to the CFR, Trilateral, and bilderberg. The illuminati, 9/11 truth, false flag. Ron paul. i don't listen to the show anymore got my life to take care of. but i still support the guy. He really belives what he says and thats honorable in this day of pressitution.

Why does everyone have to be so ducking negative and bicker? All of the armchair conspiracy theorists in here that haven't done 1 thing that even comes close to what Alex has done should cut it out. He's not perfect but he's one of the if not the best we've got. He woke me up and from me he will always get respect for that. You guys are NEVER going to find someone you 100% agree with. This infighting is what could cost us this struggle.

I don't think he is a conman, I just think he is unspooled. I have a hard time understanding how he can be married because I am really getting the impression that he just can't turn the extremist side of himself off....must drive his wife absolutely insane.

Honestly, I think the same can be said about just about any American TV personality.

Jones' persona serves a purpose in the other talking heads' agenda.

I see a lot of comments either justifying his way of earning money, or condemning it. Does anyone actually know how much he makes, or how he makes his $$? People say "T-shirts and hats. Dvds. E-foods & survival gear" What about donations? How much is too much? I do not have a side on this matter, I am merely speculating.

Clearly you've been taking too many mass murder pills lately. /s

yeah entertainment.. even though everything he has said and is saying is happening...

hes sincere, and his message is proven.. time and time again

COINTELPRO

It's been a while since I upvoted something in this sub.

I never buy anything and don't feel i need to, You have the wrong idea and your generalizing everything. I do infact feel he is genuine and not a con man but he knows he can make some money, anyone who is smart would do the same. Just because he sells DVD's on how to survive some shit or whatever i never pay attention to those anyways does't mean hes a conman, derp. How the hell is going to pay to have a studio and a fuking radio show, how is he going to support himself by waking people up day to day? are you dumb? be real idiot.

Do you not know that he lets his movies be free online? If you want to support him, you can buy the bumper stickers and videos, but you can hear his free radio show every day from infowars.com. If you buy it it's on you. Stop demonizing the man. He has done a lot for the cause of liberty, and he is going to be even stronger as a result of this Piers Morgan interview.

http://thebostonliberal.com/fact-check-debate-alex-jones-vs-piers-morgan-78918/

Alex Jones is on FOX for a reason. As the mouthpiece of the Republican party, FOX reaches out to ALL of the right wing in America. This includes the Patriot movement/Militias/Gun Rights organisations etc. Alex Jones' show is aimed square at these groups. Once these guys watch Alex, they're more inclined (In my opinion) to watch other FOX content. And if someone on another FOX show briefly touches on an issue mentioned by Alex it sends out the message: "The republican party is sympathetic to your beliefs", creating a new republican voter

Just a theory...

Methinks that OP doth protest too much.
It's hard to say anything for certain but this article makes a strong case for Alex Jones being a black propaganda agent:

http://www.gagnauga.is/index.php?Fl=Greinar&ID=229

[deleted]

Nice false 'trilemma' but I'll come to my own conclusions, thank you. In this case I would pick none of the above.

This is also true of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, fox news and the neocon movement in general. It's a cult run by snake oil salesmen peddling fear for profit. The consistent overriding message is "it's a scary world out there, only we can explain things, if you believe what we tell you then you are right and everyone else is wrong and evil and that makes you better than everyone else."

Lots of hate on Jones instead of what is the most important. The issue discussed. Is he really crazy and dangerous for being angry about the things this british man says? the completely open disdain for this country and the principles it was founded upon? how he called the constitution of the United States "your little book"? I mean seriously?

How can I convince my family member of this? She gets all her news.... ALL HER NEWS from this guy. Seriously... I need to find some info to send her.

If she remembers what a non-event Y2K was, play this for her:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHXdz4ApxOQ

You simply need to find the important things that Alex Jones doesn't talk about, and show them to her.

Holy shit... Downvotes.

www.globalresearch.ca www.rigorousintuition.ca (general discussion) for conversation

He very well may be a CIA Black Propagandist. Sure acts like he could be.

There is a chance that he has some contact with the FBI. it has happened before. CHeck out Hal Turner.

The CIA isn't buying up all his DVD's, he has a legitimate fan following that funds him. The CIA doesn't need to fake something like him because the market does so naturally.

Hard to know for sure : )

[deleted]

Yeah. CIA agent is different. Much more likely. Have you ever researched MKUltra or Cointelpro?

[deleted]

Alex Jones could easily be working for both the FBI or the CIA.

The problem with you and all conspiracy freaks in general, is that you think ALL conspiracy are true. So instead of looking through 100 conspiracies, weeding out the ones that have no merit and discriminating the few that might have some merit and then investigating those, you just accept all of the as 100% fact no matter how stupid they are.

I think we have a term for people like you, oh ya, paranoid schizophrenics.

Agreed!

He did what he set out to do: Get people interested in what he's (or his advertisers are) selling. "INFOWARS.COM! INFOWARS.COM!" he screams! Does it get any more blatant than that?

I think its sad that anyone could believe that something on fox radio is "fringe"

He is not one, but all of those things.

I've heard that he used to perform under the name Bill Hicks, and was very funny, in an angry kind of way.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pT454b8RrI

[deleted]

I'm 99% convinced it's him. The bigger question is why?

of course the funny thing is that this post would make you "choose" one or the other....why can't he be both at the same time???....was steve rimjobs your gadget savior???....or did he just trick you into walking around with a bug up your ass and make millions too!!!....haha...sheeple who love sheeple

This is a bullshit post from a nobody online troll. Down vote.

You can't rule out the possibility.

i'm tired of reading about alex jones being a con artist. if you hate him fine, but his information is free. nobody is telling you you have to buy anything, therefore this post is b.s. and not a conspiracy to boot.

But then came the Italians: “By the middle of the 12th century the Jews, who were leading money changers and moneylenders, had begun to make business loans. Because the business appeared to be lucrative, powerful rivals soon ended the Jewish hegemony. By the middle of the 13th century the Italians from Lombardy had taken over the leadership. They sometimes had the privilege of minting coins. They could solicit deposits, which the Jews were often prohibited from doing. They also managed to get around the church’s edict against interest. They did not make loans and charge interest but bought and sold bills of exchange payable in foreign currency. They were, therefore, merchants in banking who hoped by the difference in exchange to make a profit equal to the interest rate they would have charged for a loan.”

goy hoi poi

hmm, removing post's I see

Well, seems like he really pissed someone off yesterday.

If anything, he embarrassed himself.

You can tell how pissed they are by the number of shill accounts active today.

Sorry, no one gets on the cutting room floor without Ft. Bragg briefiing

What is Ft. Bragg briefing? Could you elaborate?

ALL!!!!!!!! media shown to you on "tv" is actualy part of the intelligence division of the military....media WAS the number one way in which those who control you tell you what you are supposed to think and how....and NO ONE gets on the air unless it has been "run through"...EVERYTHING is a lie....EVERYTHING is about control the currency supplies

I understand all that. I'm somewhat familiar with Bernays philosophies. What I'm asking for is something specific that points to Ft. Bragg or to the people involved with media manipulation. This is one of the hardest points to get people to believe, that all media is controlled, so if you have some relevant materials that aren't youtube videos that would be fantastic. I'm always looking for new ammunition to use when explaining to people that msm is nearly completely unreliable.

I'm not at liberty to discuss how I know what I know...anything that was genuine related to this topic has been removed from "their tube"...

Dude, it's the fucking internet. I can guarantee that your 'sources' are out there.

they're not "out there" they're "in here"

I agree. But you know what I meant.

i do i do, he said from the zoo the monkeys play games while playing with poo it's often been said a baboons ass is red a mind is a terrible thing to waste

Is this relevant? I think not.

If anything, he embarrassed himself.

Hard to know for sure : )

Yes, I understand your stance. I agree to an extent. I said "I'm inclined to believe.." because I'm still on the fence myself. My arguement to these people that know AJ is basically he gets people riled up and scared shitless, then the only solution he has is, buy these fine products I'm graciously offering so you can save yourself. Trolling on my spelling? I always mix those two up... i'm just lazy on the internet when i respond from my phone.

... seriously? This is all you could think to bring to the argument? Piss off.

Well in 2011, his reported net worth was $5 million. Of course, that's not actual cash money in his bank account. That's how much his empire is valued at right now.
