Draw your own conclusions.

Here is a related relevant passage from CNN, 2002, "U.S. policy on assassinations"

In 1976, President Ford issued Executive Order 11905 to clarify U.S. foreign intelligence activities. The order was enacted in response to the post-Watergate revelations that the CIA had staged multiple attempts on the life of Cuban President Fidel Castro.

In a section of the order labeled "Restrictions on Intelligence Activities," Ford outlawed political assassination: Section 5(g), entitled "Prohibition on Assassination," states: "No employee of the United States Government shall engage in, or conspire to engage in, political assassination."

Since 1976, every U.S. president has upheld Ford's prohibition on assassinations. In 1978 President Carter issued an executive order with the chief purpose of reshaping the intelligence structure. In Section 2-305 of that order, Carter reaffirmed the U.S. prohibition on assassination.

Obama officials refuse to say if assassination power extends to US soil

Because it does.

It even extends as far to other countries that do not even consider the US an ally nor an enemy.

Bullets don't know where imaginary lines are drawn.

The people who shoot them do and should though.

That is so.

Andrew Breitbart died half an hour after the NDAA came into effect.

"did you ever kill anyone?"..."ya, but they were all bad"

who gets to decide who is naughty or nice?

a jury of your peers normally

Just like how the LAPD acted as judge, jury, and executioner to Chris Dorner :D

So time consuming.

haha

There's no requirement that a jury include your "peers."

Its inbetween the lines in the 6th amendment. Peer simply means equal, (at least it did back when the constitution was written) they were stating everyone has the right to have a jury of equals as in people of similar class, same nationality/sex to avoid prejudiced verdict's

Peer simply means equal, (at least it did back when the constitution was written)

The word "equal" is not used in the 6th amendment either.

Santa

True Lies

Usually the person with the gun and/or other weapon(s).

that's right Alex, I'll take debt slavery for 1000

It was probably removed because it's US news, and against their 'Rules'. I'v been on reddit for 6+ years and fought against the mod take over of r/politics and r/worldnews for this very reason. It goes against Reddits own description of it's self. The user is suppose to chooses what's popular.

why not make a new subreddit? call it /r/realpolitics or something

Defeats the purpose of why I post most articles, it's to bounce it off the hive mind and enjoy as many opinions as possible. Easiest subs to do that in are politics, worldnews, news. Why not let it fly and if the hivemind doesn't like it, they will kill it with down votes.

unless it's been modded into the garbage bin.

Or I'll just keep deleting the post and reposting later.

Repost this shit and spread it across Reddit.

Very "Starship Troopers" of you :-D

I completely agree. That was around the turning point when Obama came here for his AMA. And Reddit did rally around certain causes and cooperate on efforts more in the past. Now the front page is often just humor, sarcasm, pics, and fluff. And mods started taking executive action more.

Lol at whomever believes that was actually Obama. I think it came from his campaign but even the tough seeming questions were a work.

it gets downvoted to oblivion for mentioning der fruer in a bad light. Reddit, remember.

Let me know if there are more effective strategies you know of. Good point.

Well, I tend to not mention him or the administration in the title. that way you don't get so many knee-jerk downvotes from idiots just based on the title of the link.

good advice.

Draw your own conclusions.

Okay...

/r/worldnews

REMOVED: US-internal news

Yeah... this isn't a conspiracy, it's a mod looking at the subreddit's rules. I don't agree with it, certainly- the power to kill anyone anywhere certainly seems like it should be considered worldwide news- but really, it's just their long-standing rules.

The US assassinates people all the time, the latest being the 9/11 author, his kids and even his dog for chrissakes. The killing of Chris Dorner could fall into the same catagory even though it was local cops, same general concept. Accused but not convicted and burned alive. We have no way of knowing if Dorner attempted to surrender. Cops said he tried to run out the back but was forced back in.

Yes, to be fully informational, Bush's NDAA was the Military Commissions Act of 2006, although Democrats repealed it when they took control the following year. Obama the Republican has now quashed all Democratic Party dissent, however.

It wasn't removed as part of a conspiracy, it was in the wrong subreddit. Just like I am. Fucking conspiracy nuts...

Why do you people care? Do you really think you are important enough to be assassinated by the government? Delusions of grandeur galore in here.

Why do you people care?

You kidding me? Are you really are that self absorbed? So the only reason some one might care about the government assassinating it's citizens (or anyone for that matter) without having to produce evidence for their justification of the killing, is because they think it might happen to them?

Maybe it might be the fact that if I'm held to the letter of the law, I would expect the same for our Government. Or it could be the fact that this is another step in the direction of a tyrannical government.

That just says "political assassination". We are talking about terrorists.

"Terrorists"

yes, that is what i said.

Anyone who doesn't do exactly what they say when they say it, can be deemed a terrorist.

yes and?

Funny because you only have to be a suspected terrorists, not actual evidence you are a terrorist. So HUMINT mistakes mean you and you family get a nice airstrike when you're making dinner.

Here's a big list of articles on the legality of it.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/news/obama-kill-list

By the way, LBJ had a similar personal oversight in the Vietnam war where he would pick bombing targets.

WOW I have never heard of any of this stuff.....

LBJ had to make sure they did not bomb the wrong places or the war would have been over too soon....

It was Johnson and McNamara that selected bombing targets AND prolonged the wars by making sure military targets were not bombed so they were intact for longer.

http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/11202009/profile.html

Why would they want to prolong a war buy not bombing enemy targets? That's a very good question a long with why they staged the Gulf of Tonkin to actually start it off.

"August 2, 1964 The captain of a navy ship, the U.S.S. Maddox reports that his ship has been fired on and is about to be attacked. On August 4, the captain reports a second attack. Though it would later become clear no August 4 attack actually took place, President Johnson orders retaliatory air strikes against two North Vietnamese naval bases and an oil facility. Two American planes are shot down in the attacks."

I'd say McNamara was just as guilty as LBJ in the Vietnam war.

LBJ was an idiot, he didnt really make any decisions. He had a group of people who advised him on this and they used him to further the agenda of the MIC.

unless it's been modded into the garbage bin.
