This is some information that I gleaned from the thread over in /r/worldnews, nothing really interesting though.
Bergoglio finished 2nd in the last conclave to Pope Benedict
He's age 76
He is the 1st South American Pope
Bergoglio is the first Jesuit pope
He has taken the name Pope Francis, which is apparently very important.
It is because he is the first to take an original name in nearly 1000 years, according to the BBC. That is supposed to signal that he is a reformer.
The thread over there has some pretty insightful comments.
He's also been accused as running his sect like an Inquisition and having two Jesuits stripped of their their licenses and then tortured over a period of six months before being killed.
It'd be funny if the Catholic Church was trying to dodge the prophecy of having the "black skin" man as pope which would bring the end of rome, find it mistranslated, and end up bringing in a man who's "Black of Heart."
Only time will tell. But it would be pretty novel if they misinterpreted their own prophecy, and brought about the end of their religion because of it.
On 15 April 2005, a human rights lawyer filed a criminal complaint against Bergoglio, as superior in the Society of Jesus of Argentina, accusing him of involvement in the kidnapping by the Navy in May 1976 (during the military dictatorship) of two Jesuit priests. The priests, Orlando Yorio and Francisco Jalics, were found alive five months later, drugged and semi-nude. Yorio accused Bergoglio of effectively handing them over to the death squads by declining to tell the regime that he endorsed their work. Jalics refused to discuss it after moving into seclusion in a German monastery.
Petrus Romanus means Peter of Rome. Peter was the rock on which Jesus built his church. The Jesuits,(of which Pope Francis is and who's leader is known as the "Black Pope") swear to live life as Jesus does i.e. going back to the very foundation on which the church was founded. The new pope will bring it back to square-one. You gotta tear down before you rebuild.
Very cool stuff, that was extremely insightful! Just like Jesus the guy's going to have to get rid of the "merchants in the church". I have a strong feeling the same thing will happen to society as a whole.
"Black Pope" is a derogatory nickname given to the Superior General[1] usually by the media (and never used by the Jesuits themselves). The name comes partly from the color of the plain black priest's cassock, worn by members of the Society, including the Superior General, partly from a past concern (most prominent around the 16th and 17th centuries) amongst Protestant European countries concerning the relative power of the Jesuits within the Roman Catholic Church, and partly because the Superior General is elected for life.
Yes. Benedict XVI was 'The Black Pope'. The Pope after John Paul II.
266 John Paul II (1978-) 110 De labore Solis.
(of the eclipse of the sun)
Hist.:Karol Wojtyla was born on
mai 18, 1920 during a solar
eclipse
267 ??? 111 Gloria olivae. Benedict XVI
(Glory of the Olive - The Black Pope)
268 ??? In psecutione extre-

Petrus Romanus, qui
pascet oues in mul-
tis tribulationibus :
quibus transactis ci-
uitas septicollis di-
ruetur, & Iudex tre

pulum suum. Finis.
This may be translated into English as:
In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will sit [i.e., as bishop].
Peter the Roman, who will pasture his sheep in many tribulations, and when these things are finished, the city of seven hills [i.e. Rome] will be destroyed, and the dreadful judge will judge his people. The End.
I don't think for a second that he is but it is kinda fun! And their vocation is to encourage you to think of your 'immortal soul / spirit' after all.
If everything is symbolic I'm wondering who the terrible judge is. My honest guess is that if SHTF asshats will get killed off because they're such dicks, and the good people will assemble. I'm more than likely wrong though.
His order of the Jesuits has been at odds with the Vatican for a long time. Look up Jesuit assassins. Also the leader of their order is know as the black pope. I know some people thought the next pope would be black but perhaps this is what they meant.
Jesuit scientists, philosophers, and theologians are steeped in transhumanist ideologies. Pierre Teilhard de Chardin is one such example. Also, the initiation to the 32nd degree of the Scottish Rite incorporates Ignatius de Loyola (the founder of the Jesuits) in its ritual.
Jesuits are a very interesting bunch, and any conspiracy theorist should really make an effort to study their doctrine going forward.
Not so fast. None of the Latin phrases have named their corresponding popes; their only descriptors. Technically any pope could be considered Petrus Romanus seeing as how each one sits in the place of Peter in the city of Rome.
Up vote the comments about the leader of the Jesuits which the new pope is...being called the black pope. Perhaps this is what the prophecies meant...after all you cannot take everything literally.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Peter Hans Kolvenbach yet...we already had a "black pope" (leader of the Jesuits) who was named Peter. Although he supposedly resigned, some people claim he still has as much power as ever.
You can find all sorts of fanciful stuff regarding Peter's supposed "power"...I'm definitely intrigued that the new pope is a Jesuit, though I remain unconvinced that it's connected to some grand over-arching conspiracy.
that is truly some batshit crazy stuff posted !! 311 nukes and Japanese tsunami done by an old clergy man, and I thought Dan Brown's Opus Dei and Assassin Creed's Templars were evil !!!
Am I the only one who realizes centuries-old practices of dogmatic rituals ARE NOT aligned with the true transhumanist movement? If these guys are serious about this goal, and about unlocking our path towards All, then they are not very intelligence actualizers, let alone wise observers. This strategy is just a waste of time. They could do more for the world and for 'rational minds' if they tear down their walls, destroy their church. I can't see them doing that, instead I see them prolonging their deformed angels (bishops, order leaders, etc) instead of giving martyrdom to all who seek it.
They have the power of rituals, that intuitive knowledge, and use it in manipulative ways. (e.g., the ritual of being flock in need of a shepherd, or holding a secret that is punishable by spiritual death if revealed). But knowledge is best found when All humans are directed towards that cause.
For me the real kicker is this: a transhumanist movement without women? Give me a break.
I feel like everyone should stop treating Catholic clergy as anything but scumbag scam artists.
We need to treat these thieves like the dirt they are, and stop giving them coverage in the media, and minutes of our time in conversation. Let them fade away into irrelevance like they should. They deserve no more respect than any other liars or criminals.

Yea. Usually that happens. Also that torture thing is wrong, I believe. Wikipedia states otherwise, with sources.

This has got me thinking. Maybe the name Petrus Romanus is not a literal name but rather the...how would you put it? The symbol of the last pope?

Can you elaborate?

He is said to be named after St Francis of Assisi (rather than Francis Xavier - the first Jesuit missionary I guess).
St Francis' of Assisis full name was Francisco di Pietro di Bernardone
That, in English, is Francis of Peter of Bernardone

FYI. The leader of the Jesuits is called the 'Black Pope'. Now we have our first Jesuit Pope. Coincidence?

Maybe the Vatican starts holding its own internal courts to put all the child abusers on trial.

Conspiracy prediction: St. Francis loved animals, ergo the new Pope is into bestiality.

Are there any connections at all? Genuine question, I'm really interested to see if there is. Maybe time will tell.

There's this:

Also Jesuit astronomers own a giant telescope called Lucifer; from what I recall, its purpose is to search for ETs.

Benjamin Fulford even mentioned Kolvenbach in a blog post last week (warning: Fulford is known for approaching the realm of bat shit insanity).
At this point, I think anything is possible, back to the popcorn.
