A quick glance at the top comments missed one important fact. It's illegal for the U.S., under international law to provide foreign aid to Israel, as well as Pakistan, and India as they did not sign the nuclear non-proliferation treaty. Yet we impose sanctions on Iran, Who has in-fact signed the NNPT, and which we are obligated by signing it to provide them aid in pursuing nuclear energy and non-weaponized forms of nuclear technology.
Israel has never officially acknowledged that they are in possession of nuclear arms so the aid from the U.S. is technically legal. This is probably the major reason Israel has never admitted it.
I couldn't read past too much of the first, most upvoted one denying the whole thing. The fact that such a post is getting so much traction on even such a mainstream subreddit as TIL seems to be indicative of a general questioning going on even in more popular circles with regard to Israel's nefarious involvement in this country and in world affairs.

Seemed like it to me as well when I read only a few of them.

4-5 years ago this site was extremely anti-Israel, then it got big. Quick example from May 2009 from world news
