Secret Service and FBI quarantine part of DC on March 26?

I have family who are in Washington DC this week and tonight they were eating at the Hard Rock Cafe, which is about a block off Pennsylvania Ave. and just a few blocks away from the White House.

While eating dinner there tonight, the manager told everyone to go into the main dining room. He said the Secret Service and FBI had quarantined a two block area and they were in it so no one could leave.

After a fairly short period of time (less than an hour, I think, but possibly longer), the people in the restaurant were told the quarantine was lifted and no one was injured and they could all leave.

Has anyone heard anything about this or have any idea what was going on? My family was kind of freaked out by the whole thing and I haven't been able to find anything about it online.

Thanks for the idea. I've posted there now. I'll report here if they are of any help.

This happens all the time, usually as a result of a suspicious package. By "all the time" I mean I see this twice a year or so.

Makes sense as the Hard Rock Cafe and hotel sits at the back door of the FBI and like 6 blocks from WH. I'll look into it.

You know there are lots of protesters in town, FBI is always a hotbed of activity they probably just saw a suspicious package. I couldn't find any TXT or newsworthy. sorry.

Leaky pipes caused some man-hole covers to explode.

I work next to the White House, this happens every once in a while I wouldn't worry about it

That's not uncommon, streets get blocked off/completely shut down, buildings get locked down and government agents seemingly take over Starbucks or Caribou sometimes. Welcome to DC.

Conditioning. They want to see how much fuss the public will put up if they shut down parts of a city.

Either false alert or test to see how the public reacts to know when they commit false flag and release a deadly virus.
