At this news conference he started to ask "what about the pictures on Infowars.com" in reference to the 2 guys dressed in black hats, backpacks, with Khaki pants and shoes that have been going around. Apparently, he was raising the pictures of these men in his hand.

I think they should have just answered his questions with a simple "no". Dismissing him and having other reporters calling him an asshole just keeps the conspiracy going. The best defense is to simply tell the truth, just ignoring him or calling him an idiot is exactly what causes the backlash.
