I am currently an intelligence analyst working in Afghanistan. I predict the USA will start seeing more IED, suicide vest bombs, and terrorist-style attacks this year.

127  2013-04-19 by [deleted]

I do not wish to fear-monger, but as things start breaking down economically across the globe, I expect to see more attacks in the USA. I do not know who will initiate these attacks, but I fear they will increase with more frequency, and martial law will be declared. I'd suggest you all familiarize yourselves on what IEDs are easily made, planted, and prime locations to be detonated. I see it here everyday. Good luck and I hope I'm wrong.

Edit: I'm not willing to discuss any classified information.

Would've been a lot better if you predicted this a week ago

[deleted]

That thing aint gonna stop a napalm molotov.

This guy is old school. I like it.

I mean. They'll probably take the mounted gun off and replace it with less than lethal counter measures.

rubber bullets still hurt like hell

And kill. Less Than Lethal doesn't always mean it is actually non-lethal.

They didn't buy 2700 of them, they bought 16.

Source?

There was a purchase order but it was for the Navy, not the DHS.

Here is a good write up explaining that, it is towards the bottom.

Here is an article talking about the use of the 16.

and a third talking about the conspiracy that was going around.

The shit economy has ruined the NWOs plan to take over the world!

Im in Vermont and I did see one on the highway today though...probably because of the Boston Bombers chance of escaping to Canada up through Vt?

Nah the order that was the origin of this conspiracy was just misinterpreted. The order was made for the Navy, but for some reason people thought they were going to DHS. So they are still out there, just not being used on our soil, but foreign soil.

ok it's great that the DHS has them, but how do i get one?

You can a Marauder

you gotta put in a \ after the closing parenthesis then add another one to close the link so it would look like (vehicle\)) then the link comes out properly

Marauder

Yeah I was a little confused when the comment posted. I think it is fixed now.

I think even that was too much. You should have black out a lot more of the top portion.

There is a connection with TRIPWIRE here

I am currently a Redditor, sitting in front of my computer, eating cookies

I'm calling fake. Where is your proof?

It's true. I saw a picture of a guy sitting at his computer eating cookies the other day. Pretty sure it was him.

He posted to Reddit hence he is a redditor. Checkmate Atheists.

Do you live in Ohio?

If they are thin mints, we are literally doing the same thing. The clouds are rolling in too...

are you Nostradamus?

IAMA Inelligence Analyst: I predict bad stuff is going to happen.

How long have you been working as an intelligence analyst? And what led you to believe these claims?

[deleted]

So, no evidence? Just "things you've learned?" Can you give an example?

Sorry but this seems like bullshit so far; unsubstantiated claims and no evidence other than your subjective opinion. Comparative factual information on what you've seen in Afghanistan vs. similar events taking place currently in America would be much more convincing.

[deleted]

And what is your opinion on why craft international was at the Boston marathon?

What have you learned?

Analysts do not use words like 'I guess'

[deleted]

You don't just guess. You make informed guesses based on evidence at hand. Otherwise I suggest we stop paying any intelligence analysts, as I could do that job.

Informed guesstimates.

my point exactly. provide some evidence/proof.

'analysts' dont just sit around and come up with ideas out of nowhere. its the very definition of being an analyst. to analyze data.

where's the data?

You sound like a pog SPC that heard a few stories at the defac and want to feel important. I guess ip address and opsec and common sense mean nothing to you. Either that or youre just another loser posing as something youre not. Wanna talk about ieds, general make and design and what cells favor what construction and implementation? You even know the difference between an rcied, ppied, vbied and the rest? Or which falls into the voied catagory? Try walking point for a year in rc south than come and talk about ieds. Youre either a 12 yr old faker or a power point ranger that doesnt know shit. Get back to the desk and let the scare tactics stop. Youre lucky your CoC doesnt get notified with your ip address and writing style. Youd lose that security clearance fast as f*ck.

[deleted]

yeah, Ive seen enough in my time over there to be well versed in IEDs; such as make, design, materials, how long it takes to make em, how long it takes to plant em, the indicators, the likely personnel that placed it and the chain from the guy who digs the hole all the way up to the guy with the motive and guy with the money. The fact that OP posts shit like this stating a rise in US appearance and martial law is rediculous. Wannt knowledge in IEDs, its called google and wiki for anyone outside of the usual means that deal with them. I've got plenty of knowledge and info from firsthand exp, feel free to ask. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Improvised_explosive_device

I was in RC-S on my last tour to Afghanistan. I can vouch for the amount of IEDs that were there. Also, I was an Intel Analyst there...

Im not saying there arent many ieds in RC South. Walking around there you think the dirt is explosive with how many you find in a day. From my time in RC East and RC South, the south is way more volitile with IEDs as the east is with direct fire engagements. I've seen the gap in intel from us on the ground dealing with the mess as it goes up the chain to Intel analyst's hands. Yeah Ive had to deal with EIDs first hand, and put on enough tourniquets over there.

I was in RC-E my first tour and RC-S my second. Honestly we saw more IEDs/SAF in the South than the East. It was the makeup of the IEDs that was the dramatic change...good times....

We're fucked

what is the point of ied's vs random public? afghanistan and iraq they are/were fighting an invasion/occupation, targeting enemy forces or opposing factions.

[deleted]

why would the government, or the people in charge of it, want martial law... its literally dangerous for every single member of the military to try to enforce martial law. this is ridiculous. you should be ashamed of yourself.

It's a pre-emptive strike. It's all falling down in the end so they're just trying to establish control.

It's not falling down. It's just changing. Control has been established for several decades.

You think this is control?

uh, lets see, one guy throws a few pipe bombs out the window and shoots a cop and that results in the shut down of one of the nations largest cities and mobilization of an army of 10,000 law enforcement personelle with tanks, helicopters, and various forms of guns..... yea.. id say its pretty much fucking locked down.

This isn't GTA kid. You don't get to go to the paint and body and your wanted level disappears. You want to fight the man, you lose.

Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me. Now you're under control.

Well yeah, it was a false flag.

so who we going to declare war against? Angsty foreign teenagers on methamphetamines? False flags are usually committed to appear as if the enemy committed them.... there is no enemy here other than a lonely male in a foreign land who got mixed up in drugs and violence, and ruined his and his brother's life in the process.

This is no false flag. Now it might have been fostered and enabled by shadowy elements of our government... but that doesn't make a false flag. That's just law enforcement and intelligence fostering a reason for their continued existence.Law Enforcement and the CIA only exists if evil exists. And evil only exists, if its enabled.

those lyrics. so appropriate.

YOU are an "intelligence analyst" for the US government?? I sure as fuck hope not, or else we're all screwed.

But even if it led them to initiate martial law, they couldn't do it forever

HAH i seem to remember we said the same things about the patriot act.

Ha, they can detain me, but the can't detain me forever.

... You're military speaking ill about the government on a public account. Kay. Yea. Totally legit.

... Security is military? Kay. Yea. Totally legit.

[deleted]

its easy to jump in the bandwagon now.

you should have posted this last week.

I predict people will eat more hotdogs this summer vs. not the summer.

got any more predictions that aren't common sense or already happened?

and to add, when's the last non improvised explosive terror attack occurred? they've all been improvised cause it's hard to get c4 at walmart.

[deleted]

like in the failed times square bombing?

next.

Upvoted thread for the proof, but honestly man, I'd take it down. You're job is way too important to jepordize it over reddit.

[deleted]

Yeah, but if they wanted to find out who you are they could just look through your post history and match your financial gains/losses/investments to all the other Intelligence Analysts throughout Afghanistan.

I'm refering to your proof. You have nothing to prove to us.

What proof? This guy is providing zero proof. For all you know, it could just be someone attempting to troll.

I do not know who will initiate these attacks,

A very classy bunch no doubt.

actually, I fully expected an increase after 9/11. Im surprised this didn't happen sooner.

slowly, but surely.

I cannot take this seriously. I do not believe you are an intelligence analyst (at least not professionally).

I do not see how that image is proof either.

All that being said, there are enough dummies on this sub who will believe you, so carry on.

Real brave prediction there Nostradamus, give the events of the past week...

[deleted]

No... I have clues. I'm with you. I apologized for my sarcasm. But it still doesn't take a genie to see where this is heading.

Sorry for the sarcasm, but yeah... That's where we're heading.

So is this like an AMA or...

If it were an AMA, he'd have to provide proof.

This is just some neckbeard karma whoring.

self post

Fine, attention whoring. They're pretty much the same.

Our usernames tell a story

That's true.

Are you suggestion that there are terror cells in the United States beginning to activate? How accurate is this information; and how could martial law be declared in the U.S. when it is against our Constitution!

[deleted]

It was actually designed to be applicable and withheld in these states. Having a standing army is technically illegal...a well maintained navy and militia are the only military duties specified within the original constitution - a standing army being only allowed to be in service for two years after peace is declared.

Well the framers lived in an era before the military-industrial complex.

And peace wasn't declared in '53 against Korea, just a cease-fire. I suppose that's being a bit pedantic and overly literal about the wording of "peace is declared", but the U.S army has been at war pretty constantly for a very long time.

Ding, ding, ding!

Define 'state of emergency'. Because without definitions, there will be abuse of that clause.

Whenever the POTUS or congress declares it. There is no true definition.

And since they've redeclared it constantly since 9/11...

the president can declare a national state of emergency at any time, and congress is not allowed to investigate it for 6 months.

Yeah. But the current state of emergency has been going on since 9/11/2001

true. however, i am afraid that it will get a lot worse.

privileges..

there is so much that i want to respond to your comment with, but just to shorten it, i will say, research executive order 13603, fema, and martial law. all of it ties in together.

Oh i'm sure after the Cold War scares, and the begining of the the war on terror, that executive order was placed to ensure civil unrest would never be a threat to the institution. It's unfortunate - it kind of eliminates the concept of the first and second amendments, along with many articles that stipulate that the military can never be used against United States citizens.

All those right-wing anti-govt militias..

In Britain, there was mainland attack by the IRA over decades. The Policy was business as usual. The opposite appears to happen in U.S. In Boston. In the news footage, there are military hummers with police and troops.

Why is everybody ripping on this guy so hard? For all the people who seem to have created a reddit account soley to shoot down conspiracies, pricecj doesn't seem to have been trying to force anybody to believe this. He was just saying, hey, heres my prediction. The man gave as much proof as he could without getting court marshalled or some shit. Not to mention, this isn't bad advice regardless of whether or not you think you'll be dealing with IEDs in your neighborhood. Hell, we all ought to know what they look like and how to avoid them anyway. Its naive to think that we'd never see one. But yes, we all hope not to. Never hurts to be prepared.

Thank you, pricecj, for the warning/prediction. Even if it doesn't come true, i'll be mentally prepared. And if it does happen, well, then we'll all be posting here again to say thank you.

You think you'll be prepared because you read some analysts expectations of IEDs becoming common place? Like watching a video of a truck vaporizing after hitting a pressure plate is going to harden you to the matter. NOTHING you do will prepare you for it, watch all the videos on youtube and play all the COD missions you want, you know jack shit about the realities of it.

edit: spelling.

I think you took me a little bit too seriously. I don't mean that I would be Rambo-style prepared. I don't mean that I would, because of this post, see that IED a mile away and know exactly how to disarm it. What I meant was, and I apologize for leaving it unclear, that I would be more prepared. To the extent that I would be worried about an IED outside, rather than just going to walk my dog and step on one because I had no clue. Does that make sense?

Yeah, most certainly did not mean that I would be that kind of prepared.

Edit: Punctuation

I may have taken it a bit literal. The subject is touchy for me. I didn't mean to come off as an ass hat but it is what it is. No one is ever prepared for what happens, and without actual training and experience its ignorant to think the general public will know any better. IED's are destructive, maiming and cowardly but extremely effective. Educating yourself on them is a great step but they can literally be anywhere disguised as anything. It's a life of paranoia that you don't want to start down.

You know, after I posted it (really, more so after you replied) I thought that I could have said that in a better way. I know, with what our deployed guys go through on a regular basis, that this is a touchy subject for some people, so I should have put more thought into my post.

I certainly agree that the life of paranoia is a slippery slope. Honestly, when I read through things in r/conspiracy, i take it with a grain of salt. I just enjoy seeing connections I never noticed before, even if they are ridiculous. And again, I was not implying that I would be the end-all know-all of IEDs, therefore impervious to them. I'm not that ignorant of things.

I'll try to go a little more in depth to better explain the point I wanted to get across. I thought of it more like this: Lets assume some organization or whatnot has already been setting up IEDs. Without having read this post, if I saw something on the news about an IED somewhere other than home, I would most likely assume that whatever was going on, it was happening there. On the other hand, having read this post, I would see an IED on the news, remember this post, and be cautious in my own city.

Does that help you understand what I meant? I hope so, because I didn't mean to offend you.

P.S. I'm thinking that, since the IED preparedness was a touchy subject for you, you may have been/be in the military. If so thank you for your service.

I was, in the Marines for a bit, but I'm not karma whoring because of it. I just don't want fhe public thinking because they watched tears of the sun they are combat experts. Untill you experience it first hand you don't know how you will react. Some people just need a reality check. IEDs suck, every bit of em.

It's a huge OPSEC issue to even post things like this. I know an intelligence agent wouldn't even take that risk, throwaway or not.

[deleted]

"intelligence analyst working in Aghanistan" - Just trying to help out a fellow DoD intelligence buddy. OSI wouldnt think highly of this.

Can you provide any proof whatsoever?

[deleted]

Lol you think they don't know your reddit account. You're funny.

Actually, if you're on a public-ish network and you didn't sign up for reddit with an email account. It's very very very hard for anyone, to pin the account to a real person. Barring any stupid mistakes like using the same username on multiple forums.

Yeah I have been saying this for about a year. America is going to see more for sure, and it will be bad.

Has there been any analysis into whether the increased strength and resilience of MRAPs has contributed to the (terrorists' need for increased) size and effectiveness of bombs and IEDs?

Let me answer your question since the analyst knows only what he reads and the pictures command has on the cork board. Yes, IEDs have increased in size to compensate for the v shaped hulls on the new trucks. It's not uncommon to see them in the 100# range, more commonly in the 50-60# area. Fortunately the trucks do exactly what they are built for and do it extremely well. When I was deployed we didn't have any fatalities from IEDs in any of the mounted platoons/sections. More than a few trucks became useless though.

[deleted]

For an analyst, it could be said you infer poorly...

So is it coincidence that this dude drives a Mercedes Benz (as shown in the photos) but also car-jacked a Mercedes Benz?

Maybe I'm just from a piss-poor small town, but Mercedes Benz cars are not all that common.

In and around large cities they are extraordinarily common.

They're pretty common around military bases too even if it's a small town. I live in a small town with a military base and I see plenty Mercedes Benz and BMWs. Hell there was even a Lotus Elise in town for a while before winter hit. Haven't seen it around town since then.

common enough for it to not be evident of a conspiracy

not much of a prediction :/ youre late

but these devices were our design and you fucking know it.

Honestly, I am surprised it took this long. Now that it's all the whole country is talking about - it is official.

I do agree with you. And this fits in with a point I keep making here:

There's no need for the government to set up "false flag" operations. As the social safety net continues to break down, as the ability for an individual to get a fair shake continues to deteriorate - as the pressure builds up, individuals will snap all on their own, and the government won't have to do a thing.

So when, say, a Sandy Hook happens, may of you look for a false flag - whereas I wonder why there aren't more things like this happening all on their own.

In particular, do consider that most terrorists are males between 17 and 25 - and those are a group who particularly have limited hope for the future in the United States particularly.

Turn up the pressure and they'll snap.

Seems legit.

You're pathetic. No proof, no sources, and no touchy subjects because you're "not willing to discuss any classified information".

This is as low as karma whoring gets.

They will be able to shut down America with 20 guys the way Boston has gone.

Everyday more and more shit goes down and people continue to act surprised and demand evidence and proof. The comments are being gamed so there is no real discussion, just fighting. Wake the FUCK UP people!!!

Dude, you give IAs a bad name with your crappy "predictions".

What do you think of the stories floating around on the web of mossad filming US troops being killed by "insurgents" when israeli subcontractors were the only ones with the GPS coordinates?

So, would you advise me to invest money on the stocks of metal working companies, military contractors and security companies? If government plans to increase "security", they need to increase the personnel and deliver equipments...

Can you at least tell us how can we familiarize ourselves with IEDs? Do we just google information about them?

CNN does that when someone being interviewed doesn't stick to the script

I'm frankly shocked that it hasn't happened sooner. Seems stupidly simple to bring one onto a bus or train or other crowded event.

This is not sketchy, as an intel analyst you need to be extremely careful with what you put online. Providing "proof" in itself is almost pushing it. I know you know this but just for others who are doubtful. This coming from somebody who has worked in that field.

TO CANADA!!!

[deleted]

Let me guess, what you do is powerpoint and piecharts. Oh, also those connect the terrorist slides.

Nothing more worthless then "analysts" working at BN and higher.

Yeah, and so were analysts in Iraq in 2004. Shut the fuck up Private and go make some coffee.

If I copy that letter you posted and upload it to Imgur, does that mean I have proof, too?

[deleted]

How unutterably convenient.

As if he has something to gain from this post? Jesus Christ.

Attention.

People love attention.

I knew a guy who lied about being in boot camp - not even the armed forces, just boot camp. I never did find out for certain why he would lie about that.

So naturally, everything you hear is a lie from then on out.

I'm simply demonstrating that just because you can't think of a reason why somebody might lie, that doesn't automatically mean they're telling the truth.

I thought this entire /r/ was all about questioning assumptions, practicing skepticism, and seeking real answers?

You have no comprehension skills whatsoever.

None of this would have been an issue had Jews been prevented from swinging the floodgates wide open to the Third World back in 1965:

Jewish Involvement in Shaping U.S. Immigration Policy

Not to mention the primary motivating factor behind terrorist acts committed on U.S. soil: Jewish-directed U.S. foreign policy.

No... I have clues. I'm with you. I apologized for my sarcasm. But it still doesn't take a genie to see where this is heading.
