/r/noshill is invite only. can we talk without all the bullshit?

Myself and /u/shillfree are tired of it. Comment and I'll look into your invite. Let's have a real discussion for once. He created /r/shillfree and ultimately started this one in its place. We need content.

I don't post much, because I don't feel like I have a hell of a lot to add. But I'd love to be a part of this.

Same here. I prefer to read and collect thoughts of my own accord rather then post up random fluff.

I would like in too :D

What guarantees can you offer as far as your claim it's 'shill free' ?
This entire site is 'home' to shekel-grabbing paids-to-post
Why would 'shillfree' be any different ?
How can you back your claims when it will exist under the auspices of shill-ridden reddit ?
Why would reddit permit a shill-free zone within its larger, shill-filled operation
know what I mean ?

I think the idea is wrong. It should be open the public. If you want to make it shill free you should take the effort of removing the shills once a shill becomes a problem.
The reason is that being open to the public gives you so much quality. Anyone can bring quality. It also allows anyone at any time to contribute rather than having to make a post somewhere else and magically getting extended an invitation. Keeping invitations up seems like a more intensive task than barring the occasional shill.
Basically invite only you are gonna end up with a very small group of people with little to no fresh blood. Nobody is able to lurk etc.
I think between deciding who is clearly posting shill/troll messages and checking who isn't it should be obvious which route is the most effective. It's the idea of innocent until proven guilty (public, ban shills) vs guilty until proven innocent (private, extend invites to members that posted something and that is evualted and deemed to be up to "standards")
I see a lot of things wrong with it. The idea is good which is why I'm making this post but with it not being open to the public I predict it will fail in being effective or able to last long and such have no interest in becoming part of it.
Edit: another thing. In times like these you are gonna have your hands full banning shills until you got most of them anyway. But what about the other times? You will always have to be active reading stuff from anywhere in order to determine who gets access.

maybe we should start off with a better base and become more of a community instead of bickering back and forth on /r/conspiracy. maybe it will get to the point we won't need it to be private. pry not.

I see the reason for the invite only.It makes it at least slightly harder to spam, insult ,misinform.
1 [deleted] 2013-04-20
I agree 100%. Make it open to the public, institute "no bullshit", clear and concise parameters for getting banned. Objectivity is welcome but blatant douche baggery is not tolerated. We all know what a shill looks like, it wouldn't be hard to do. They can't keep their frothing in check.
On that note, I'd appreciate an invite.

example of shills (do NOT invite these clowns): http://www.reddit.com/r/NoLibsWatch

Me me me.
2 wahirsch 2013-04-20
I'd much rather join /r/shillfree if it means less unverified speculation and blatant trolling.
5 [deleted] 2013-04-20
/u/shillfree deleted /r/shillfree and started /r/noshill . Same thing. New neighborhood.
3 revoman 2013-04-20
Again, invite us.
2 wahirsch 2013-04-20
My apologies, I've got my youngest son on my lap and the Fresh Beat Band playing in the background... I managed to miss that statement.
That being said - I'd like an invite if that is at all possible. I value the knowledge and facts over blind speculation and that sounds like the place to be.

May I have an invite, sir?

I came across /r/conspiracy two days ago. Probably at the worst time in the history of the subreddit. What I have learned: Many here want to skip the entire judicial process and go straight to sentencing, and other than that, I have no idea what can be confirmed.
1 WootenWorship 2013-04-20
I don't have a lot to back up my application, but I'm pretty sick of the bullshit around here. Seems like you've got to be status quo around this subreddit anymore or get downvoted.
1 [deleted] 2013-04-20
I wouldn't mind a better r/conspiracy - but you'll probably think I'm a shill
1 ssbb-outtahere 2013-04-20
Segregation will end the madness, count me in.

1 [deleted] 2013-04-20
I'm going through and adding people as fast as I can..I have to go through their comments.
1 pyap 2013-04-20
Mildly interested.
But, how exactly are you going to stop this from becoming an out and out circlejerk?
1 [deleted] 2013-04-20
I spend a lot of time on /r/conspiracy. I have seen a lot of these users around before and grown accustomed to their posts and insight. I'm not exactly sure how I will do this yet. We should come together and figure this out ourselves.
1 Crangrapejoose 2013-04-20
Although the idea is a little troublesome, I get your point. I am interested.
1 rabbits_dig_deep 2013-04-20
I'm interested. I've had it with the shills at r/conspiracy.
1 TaintedCaramel 2013-04-20
I've had it with trolls and excessive down-voters on this sub. Frankly, I think that thee only way to stop this sub from becoming R/politics is to make it invite only. Count me in!
1 R0B34U 2013-04-20
Please. It seems like the /r/conspiracy sub has been completely taken over by people trying to shame and humiliate everyone who suspects something is amiss here...
1 dieyoung 2013-04-20
Invite me, I'd like to be a part of this
1 MTCONE 2013-04-20
Check me out.
1 chody55 2013-04-20
I would love to be a part of this subreddit. I don't contribute much but it would be nice to be able to read legitimate conversation that isn't diluted with unrelated criticism of individuals.
1 grimblegromble3 2013-04-20
I'm personally tired of the shilling here. It's absoultely absurd and does nothing for the discussion.
1 oopsifarted 2013-04-20
I want invited...im no shill.
1 petedacook 2013-04-20
Fellow conspiracy theorist here and loyal long time contributor to /r/conspiracy.
I sometimes do not agree there is a conspiracy
And other times I feel so strongly about the conspiracy, I am exhausted with believers and even trying
Invite me and I will add to discussion, and content and likewise I will see if the sub is good for me. I would like an alternative to the new /r/conspiracy.
1 OFP_PFC 2013-04-20
Right here por favor
1 Metalgrowler 2013-04-20
I never post on this because frankly everyone is more informed than I am but I would love to have a place where I can read facts and theory's that I find enthralling. Without the fucking shills and misinformation pricks of course.
1 [deleted] 2013-04-20
I'm down.
1 Twiztidpenguin 2013-04-20
I'd love to be invited. I'm tired of the bullshit on almost every post. Almost every post has some asshole saying "you don't have the facts, the proof... That's why conspiracy is shit" etc. etc. etc. I'm an atheist but I don't go on r/Christianity and tell them how their god and beliefs are shit to me. What's the point?
1 jnoyo85 2013-04-20
I need this!!
1 fezha 2013-04-20
innnnnnnnnnnnnnn!
1 sjrlink 2013-04-20
Would certainly appreciate an invite. I don't enjoy trying to get on r/conspiracy and see people heckle believers.
-2 [deleted] 2013-04-20
Right. Let's take what's already essentially an echo chamber for paranoid lunatics and overt racists ranting about government censorship and all that, downvoting anyone who disagrees with their insane narrative and accusing them of being a shill, then make a new subreddit where these dissenting opinions are forcefully silenced, and everyone can rant in peace, still without getting anything accomplished, and further reinforcing their mad beliefs.
Because "fairness".
And "truth".
"And this is totally not censorship in any way. Nope, no censorship here. Totally not censorship to accuse someone of being a shill and ban them for it with absolutely no evidence whatsoever. Because everyone who disagrees with me is paid off by the evil government lizard Jew Illuminati bankers who are trying to kill us all with chemtrails, take our guns with false flags, all in a highly organized manner. And yet they're still somehow too stupid to create their Facebook pages on the right day, get different 'crisis actors' for geographically and temporally close events, or not reveal their evil plans to us on freaking cartoons on TV."
"And everyone who disagrees with me is in on it."
"Because I'm never wrong. "
"All those YouTube videos have opened my eyes to the TRUTH. Journalism and peer-reviewed science are the work of the Devil. Praise be to Alex Jones and his enlightened ramblings!"
...
You people are sick. It's disgusting. Hypocrites, the lot of you.
0 Twiztidpenguin 2013-04-20
and that's why right there.... I'm sorry I don't always buy the official story. I've seen, heard, and read enough shit before even coming to this reddit to know I want to become a part of a community where we can just have a discussion without some douche saying I'm sick or a hypocrite or crazy. I don't believe in every conspiracy, but I don't waste my time calling people stupid for the ones I don't. Invite me sir...
