Blackwater happens to be one of the largest options. We don't need to conclude Michelle connected to Blackwater as much as realize that what comes off looking like a great save for impoverished veterans (the save she speaks of in the quote) is simply serving yet another purpose for the government's motives...not the veterans' motives. You're right though, its about as strong of a connection as a fucking furniture store...
