REMINDER: If you have used the internet, then ALL of your internet history is linked by PRISM to your personal name and information.

REMINDER: If you are born in the US, a citizen of the US, live in any countries associated with the US, or have interacted online with anyone in the US, then your entire life including but not limited to past and present online activities, banking activities, geographical locations, education activities, phone activities, and social networks are known by PRISM and tied to your personal name and family.

FTFY

So are you saying that if I (A Canadian) had any interactions with someone from America, PRISM will track me?

If you're alive PRISM will track you.

yea but we knew a long time ago with the patriot act, we just forgot with all this shit going down everywhere, a fucking news/scandal storm. im sure its to hide the crazy ass ufo stuff as well with all the trayvon and legalization related topics.... its only the second biggest subject too scary to discuss imagine a gold rush going on, but only in certain handpicked states.....

Honestly I don't even think you'd need to do that much. Without knowing the extent of PRISM, I'd assume simply being in a border country to ours would put you on the radar. If you've ever registered for a credit card of any sort, signed up with any of the major central banks, or filed taxes, then you're definitely on some sort of list.

Now to be clear, that's not to say we're all being closely monitored 24/7 (although we could be for all we know now) but if you have a social security number, or social ID of any sort (which you do) then count that as your very own 'employee ID' number to the global corporate conglomerate that is the UN and associates. Corporations like to keep tabs on all of their workers, right?

This whole privacy issue is stemming from a misunderstanding of the system. Essentially we're all part of a multinational corporation, and if you work to the benefit of your CEO's (think taxes) they will continue to give you employee benefits (such as military protection, loans, etc). Sure we're being monitored but really it doesn't matter; we're all small potatoes. They could give two damns what porn we wank to, the problem arises when the structure of power is threatened. The "CEO's" of the global "corporation" don't want to lose their positions to others, and so we see what happens when people gain a lot of power/backing among the populace, when they don't side with the views and interests of the governments.

So I wouldn't worry. As long as you aren't trying to start a revolution to "overthrow the tyrannical gubmint" then you should be fine. Best thing to do is pay your taxes on time, get out of all debt, and make a shit ton of money each year to cover your ass and please the lords. And if you're lucky, one day you could become a lord yourself! That's the game anyway.

tell that to the Jews in Nazi Germany.

how many of those that were killed by genocide were trying to start a revolution? little kids, too?

Thanks for the huge reply, I really appreciate it.

Sure. It's really more of a public reminder, if anything. The common theme I've been seeing the last few weeks is the confusion and surprise that people are expressing over all of this privacy/NSA business. None of it should be surprising anyone if they understood how the system works. The interesting part of all of this is seeing how the governments respond to the reactions of the world.

Now that people are finally snapping out of their safety bubbles, they're going to look harder. They'll find a LOT more, and the rabbit hole goes pretty deep...

The future will be interesting to watch indeed.

Prism is aimed at you, there are limits to how the nsa can track people within the borders of the US, but foreigners are pretty much fair game.

This has already been blown, there are no limits for anyone, not any limits they're abiding by anyway. Wholly corrupt criminals.

You don't think the Canadian government isn't doing the same thing? 90% of Canadian internet traffic runs through US servers, you don't think there is some kind of information sharing between the two nations?

They're supposed to be grabbing all data on the internet, the whole world, everyone, everything. If they become interested in you for whatever reason, they pull up everything you've ever done.

yup, think of how often you do business with a company in the USA, where is the server you internet traffic gets routed through?

also as a Canadian their constitution doesnt do shit to protect you, your a foreigner and a terrorist as far as they are concerned even if you've never done anything illegal

lol probably a coincidence but my paypal, cellphone, and computer all mysteriously started having issues within an hour of my original post lmao too funny

yeah i don't think that's what they're saying. you don't have to be a/in touch with a US citizen for them to have an eye on you. infact they're claiming quite the opposite; how they're watching everyone BUT their own citizens. bleh.

what people in this thread seem to have not realised/be forgetting is that PRISM works through the internet.. the physical location of a country means nothing on the internet. i don't think i'm any safer in the UK than yourself just because i'm further away..

so you're saying they can but have decided not to track non-Americans or anyone who has no relations to the US?

that does not sound logical.

assume everyone is being tracked, because it makes the most sense.

I think you may have misread what I typed. You are arguing in agreement with me. I stated that anyone who is any way associated with the US is probably being tracked to the ultimate extent.

That is a pretty large umbrella category that covers most of the world, you would be hard pressed to find anyone who isn't in some way related to the US, and if they aren't they probably aren't being tracked. But good luck with that - I think the number of people who aren't related in some way to the US are limited to those in remote regions and third world countries who haven't yet seen electricity. Oh but we're workin' to reach them too, eh?

This. Anonymity on the internet is for the benefit of not being identified by other random internet users; the government knows your shit anyway.

Anonymity on the internet is for the benefit of not being identified by other random internet users

no. Anonymity online is an illustration of the rights afforded by privacy. It has nothing to do with "random people on the internet" but privacy in general.

sorry, but you sound like a paid shill

sorry, but you sound like a paid shill

And that makes you sound like a fucking idiot, and i'm pretty sure you aren't being paid for it.

My whole point was that whether you think you have anonymity or not, whether you think it's a "right" or not, you don't have it, and you shouldn't kid yourself by thinking you do. You can be anonymous to the average person on the internet, but to the government, you're not.

I don't give a shit. If they want me, come and get me.

Anyone could get killed in an car accident, or a drone strike, tomorrow. There is no point in letting fear dictate your thoughts or actions.

I think a drone strike would be unlikely assuming he lives in the us

And do you think that Michael Hastings' new Mercedes just spontaneously exploded, ejecting the engine 150 feet away?

Do you mean you think a drone hit him? I just figured they fucked with his car somehow

They showed the engine sitting on the sidewalk on the local news and said it was "50 yards" away.

(I get what you're saying, but it would have had to have been a fairly big explosion.)

But why jump to the drone conclusion?

A drone could shoot a projectile explosive from the sky in one of the biggest cities in the U.S., or the same explosive could have been planted in the car.

Their toys.

They like to play with them.

Yeah that is pretty fishy... I think we both agree it certainly wasn't pot holes that caused this

I do. :)

That's kinda the point, at least for now. If people are crippled by fear, hide in their basements, and think only "approved" thoughts then the chances will likely increase over time.

"Yet"....

[deleted]

He clearly does give a shit, and also doesn't. I'm sure he didn't mean it as a blanket statement, but a directed statement towards the NSA. I don't give a shit if the NSA calls me a dissident. I do give a shit about humanity, and the future of our world. TPTB do not scare me into submission.

I've never thought about that, that would suck.

exactly, if they want to come grab me in the night or something it will be pretty obvious to everyone who knows me irl that shit is going down. i have made it quite clear to enough people that if something happens to me it has to do with the things i say/post

if they want to be dumb enough to martyr me fine. for every one of us that are disappeared at least 2 more will take up the fight

[deleted]

Not really all that tough, just don't care if someone is watching what I am saying. I refuse to mask what I am thinking....to refuse to be cowed by the TPTB. People have to stop being so apathetic and start caring, because if TPTB are left unchecked they will ruin everything.

I was just going to write essentially the same thing- Fuck these fucks, and I don't give a shit-

i'll take one for the team.

FUCK THE NSA!!! YOUR MOTHER SMELLS OF ELDERBERRIES!!! DIE FUCKERS DIE!!! I FART IN YOUR GENERAL DI-RECTION!! PISS OFF NSA OR I SHALL TAUNT YOU A SECOND TIME

i'll distract the helicopters, you guys run for it.

srsly, though, who thought they weren't collecting this data?

Show them your penis that will make them real angry

[deleted]

You seem to be getting confused Not my penis, your penis, the penis of doom.

Welp, to those who thought they weren't this was their reminder. Dur. So how do we all feel living in 1984?

Or a 50/50 version of '1984' & a 'Brave New World'. I agree w/ you though.

How about all the free-mail providers offering to text your cell phone number if your security is compromised? How many poor schmucks linked their cell phone to their e-mail accounts? That makes it easier for the NSA!

My bad; poor schlemiel is the correct term. We are a nation of schlemiels.

We are a nation of schlemiels

...run by a gang of Zorreros!

I learn so much on reddit . . .

My name is Bobby Black, and as a future leader of thh comingg free world, I stand in the light and dare them to come get me. Martyr me. I don't give a darn. I hide nothing, and am not afraid to stand up to our tyrannical government and their corporate owners. Fucking spies.

Bye Bobby!

avenge mĂȘeeeeeeeeeee

My name is Bobby

Bobby, Bobby once had a Hobby,

Playing on the internet in the Lobby,

After Bobby got Wobbly he left the Lobby,

And that was the last of Bobby in the Lobby..

That was awful.

H8s gonah h8

That was Awfully Good.

Not so much that I truly am delusional as to think so, but I was never so naive to believe that there has been a point ever where we have actually been anonymous. I write, blog, entertain and do what I do in the field of rabble-rousing without either illusion. None of us are anonymous unless we are some serious hackers, and money of us matter enough to give a shot about from they who watch, obviously, or we would have been disappeared long ago.

So, don't feel bad that I wasn't shattered by your informative and pointed statements. I was being sarcastic, and since I don't know who you, nor you I, well, have a day Captain Obvious. I hope it gets better for you.

I don't think people get how a system like PRISM works. It's not 'recording everything'; that's not possible. Rather, it's a back door into all the relevant systems (let's look at this system through the PRISM - geddit?). I.e. at customs? They will be able to access your Facebook messages or Hotmail or Skype call history without a warrant. (And I would assume, deleted messages (you honestly don't think anything is truly deleted when you press delete on such services do you..? That goes double for Facebook with their stupid photo tagging system where anyone can tag you but you cannot prevent yourself from being tagged. PRISM will likely have access to that facial recognition data and be able to run searches against it, using Facebook's own servers))

Truly dangerous with massive potential for abuse.

"potential for abuse"

which is what a lot of people do not get, its not a case where govt is going to spy on and '1984' everybody, they cannot be bothered and it would be a waste of their resources, BUT what does and can happen is corrupt local cops, corrupt local crooks can access all this lovely govt data and use it to do their LOCAL corruption.

THAT is the biggest danger from an all knowing govt, they cannot be trusted to not let that data be used and abused by corrupt govt employees, and friends and blackmailers of those govt employees. Information is worth money and can be used for much nefarious purposes, people will pay to get it.

And to be honest big govt corruption is generally when organised crime of many stripes and hues, gets it hooks into and controls parts of big govt for their own purposes.

which is what a lot of people do not get, its not a case where govt is going to spy on and '1984' everybody, they cannot be bothered and it would be a waste of their resources, BUT what does and can happen is corrupt local cops, corrupt local crooks can access all this lovely govt data and use it to do their LOCAL corruption.

Exactly - take the UK for example and 'terror' surveillance laws. What do they end up being used for? Prosecuting people for dropping litter and in one case a family was put under surveillance because it was suspected they lied about where they lived to get their kid into a better school.

Under RIPA (Regulation of Invesgatory Powers Act) for some years now various bodies can get access to your email, web history and so on (and incidentally it's illegal for the hosting companies to disclose if they have been asked for this data, even if asked by a judge). The problem is who can ask - this includes for example local councils which basically means that some small time civil servant could start nosing into your online activities should they come up with an excuse. I always predicted PRISM which appears to simply be a direct interface to this data. 'Point and snoop'.

IP address, camera on mobile devices, etc trumps that anyway.

YAY I'M FUCKED.

Who wants to take my name and DOB down w/ a pic of me?

Luckily i never use my real name when filling out email subscriptions anyway. Fake name address. No real reason other then i dont like putting my info out there.

Fake IP as well?

No. But i really am not paranoid like most of you. Just explaining what i do.

Just because we are paranoid doesn't mean they're not after us, specially since they're after everyone.

Whatever makes you feel safe.

And if you have ever used any of those platforms on a mobile device, your whereabouts are part of their drone targeting database.

Who said anything about a drone targeting database

And don't forget this info has been shared with the Brits and Israelis, neither of whom have shown much regard for the sovereign status of the US when carrying out their black ops.

I want them to know I don't approve of their bullshit!!!

WTF this is /r/conspiracy not /r/obviousthings ! And I mean that in a cynical and humorous way.

Chances are that they know all of the above and then some regardless of whether you even use reddit or not, let alone NSAmail.

My statements stand.

I wonder what would happen now if I wrote a script that includes words like bombs, nuclear weapons, al-qaeda, NSA attack plan etc in google searches 24/7. That'll show them. Bastards.

May as well assume its the entire internet, every phone company, and every bank. They have the means, and they obviously have the motive. It's be silly to assume they weren't using it.

I want them to know what I think. Its not like their programs dont differentiate between IP's anyways.

An Aussie here! Youse can all come down under and drink our flouridated water for a while. Pretty soon you will forget any of this existed, If you do remember you will be too apathetic to give a shit.

We've got our own fluoridated water here that's flavored with a nice combination of copper, lead, chloroform, and a bunch of other "harmless" things. It's all right here in our yearly water quality reports.

What a world we live in!! The technology today is absolutely amazing and I am so glad that our government is able to use it as well!! :D Right guys?

/s

This makes me want to encrypt all my sms, get a VPN and run an email server out of my closet.

Assuming you've given real personal information to gmail, yahoo, or hotmail for that email, but since they're hoovering up everything, it doesn't matter what you do, they've got all data.

Oh shit, you're right!

INATOR, XANAX

HOMETOWN: APPLETON WI

LOVES: GUNS, LIBERTY, TRUTH

ETHNICITY: JEWISH (NON-KHAZAR), ITALIAN

ASSIGNMENT: FEMA CAMP DIST #3

I am the only one who has multiple fake email accounts to do things like register for websites and do porn?

who cares. im not plotting shit against my country. i'd pick up a gun and defend it if invaders came. oh wait... my country is trying to take my gun... but... its to defend it and my house.

Hey PRISM!

While we're on the topic of reminders, I'd like to remind all of you that even having an entirely separate and meticulously un-identifyable second cell phone (bought with cash at a garage sale, prepaid sim card (also cash), etc) that you use for any private business, it's likely that someone with access to all the locations of all the cell phones in the nation could highly correlate your second phone to your first based purely on date/time stamps.

I'm not entirely sure how to take measures to reduce this possibility.

Well given that. I'm betting they are linked to all emails through out the world to reddit and everyone of those 153,764 readers are always being logged and recorded.

Youuu Whooo NSA...hui over here Hawaii calling you. Come get me haoles. Hope you can search over 100,000 lava tubes. Plus or minus a few filled with lava flowing.

When that day comes you can count on a few Feds being swallowed up by lava without they see it coming.

pretty obvious that gmail is involved in all this. I never expected much of anything I do online to be hidden.

Reminder : If we can manage to get into their database, we will then have all of their real personal information. Think positive!

to be honest, i was under the impression that a sub like /r/conspiracy would already be under watchful eye anyway. if i was the gov't and i wanted to spy on people, especially those with more extreme/volatile/anti-gov't opinions, i would have to be an idiot to ignore this sub

unless you have gone to extreme lengths to protect your privacy (in which case you have probably attracted extra special attention) then everything you say & do that is traceable is going right into your file and has been for years.

I hope they like reading my insults against console gaming peasants

Da fucks wrong with consoles?!

online fees

overpriced games

outdated graphics

small game library

less content

no mods

no free games

Fair, except for the wii-u

fair

Don't give a shit about graphics

Yeah, Im pretty happy with the current game library

What do you mean less content?

Big deal

Free games are starting to work there way in.

those are all very good reasons IMO. Hell, even just 1 or two of those reasons makes PCs the superior platform. Not saying you should only game on Pc or console, but any multuiplatform (most) games should be bought on PC

content = usermade maps/items, etc

Oh and I forgot to mention that keeping my game library forever is great. I dont have to worry about backwards compatibility or re-buying the same games every gen

Meh. My computer is slow and upgrading this thing is not in my budget and neither is building one so yeah none of those things really matter to me. And I know what modding is. I just dont give a fuck about it.

My computer is slow and upgrading this thing is not in my budget and neither is building one so yeah none of those things really matter to me

So i guess you missed the point about cheaper games/online fees. so I take it you cant afford a next gen console?

No I didn't miss that point. I just don't care about that point because I really hate playing on a computer. But as of now, no I can't afford a next gen console. In about 2 months I'll be able to afford one. Your probably going to say I should use that money to build a computer.

Yeah, thats too much work....

really hate playing on a computer

that doesnt even make sense. wat's your reasoning?

you can use a controller/TV on a PC ya know

and i dont mind giving the NSA another PC vs peasant argument to read

I just do. Why take all the time to hook up my my computer to the tv when my console is already hooked up too it just to play games. Hell, the only time I actually play games on my computer is when I want to play horror games and even then my computer is too slow for me to fully enjoy it.

Also calling people a peasant is rude and immature....

Also calling people a peasant is rude and immature....

then stop acting like one

So how am i acting like one?

Also, You should stop acting like your 12

relax, i was just trying to help you

Sorry but, you just called me a peasant over the fact that I play a console....Also you really didn't help me with anything.

You guys realize this is /r/conspiracy and not /r/gaming, right?

Good point.

I mean honestly, who gives a fuck? I was under the assumption that anything I do on the internet is being logged some way or another for 5-6 years now... I really could care less. I don't plan on physically hurting anyone or committing any terrorist attacks... the ones terrorizing us are the people who claim they're protecting us... so let them look in the mirror if they want someone to suspect.

who gives a fuck?

What about the people representing you and fighting for your rights? What happens when those people suddenly gets a visit from the NSA and an offer (to stop) they can't refuse?

ok guy you're taking my statement way to literally. this is reddit comments here...

ok cool :-) no worries...

Power of the mob, no individuality.

Come on. Do you really think that's necessary? They have software that can identify you by your writing style, so anything you've posted on any forum under any IP can be traced back to you.

In other words, none of your anonymous comments are really anonymous.

if they really want to spend resources tracking somebody down.

it costs money to target one person or a group, at the moment its a forest of low hanging fruit, too many people griping and talking, not worth their bother to go after internet talkers. things might change in the future if local cops and DAs use people's internet history as evidence in ordinary local matters. but what are they going to do with the million or more internet talkers, lock us all up in FEMA camps, that costs serious money.

They are interested in people who organise other people, and meet up. As witnessed by what happened to the Occupy organisers.

killcops123@gmail.com, come at me NSA

What if I'm Canadian eh

They will assasinate you with a MK ultra controlled moose.

They will poison your maple syrup.

Our $100 bills smell like maple syrup. But the man says that is just an illusion.

Not the syrup!

At this point, it's a little.

However, once I find a suitable email client, I'll be moving shit over to them.

Google made its bed.

[deleted]

850,000 govt employees and associated contractors in private companies, all sucking on the taxpayer tit. its a grand life they make for themselves, great salaries, great benefits, abuse of govt credit cards (see the 2006 GAO report on it), great pensions.

some of what they do is needed, a lot is pure empire building and career self enhancement.

Hah, good luck to them. Most of my emails and accounts for reddit and what not are linked to names like Fred Weasley who lives in glasgow indonesia. Take that.

Do you mean you think a drone hit him? I just figured they fucked with his car somehow

I do. :)
