Something is coming

I live in a very small town with next to no problems. But even in my very small town of maybe 2000 we have tripled the police force since the first of the year. We had 5 officers now we 16. They already drive around and just sit in random parking lots along the main street. There is no need for these extra cops. They have even stated themselves that it is pointless So why is the city spending this money? When it could be used to save the broken education system or the pothole filled backroads. Hell it would be better used on anything.

Become? We have always been a police state!

Not always, the founding fathers had ideals that stuck around for quite a while but now things are terrible

1913 - The year the FED was established.

A good question. A Government never adds things like extra cops if they didn't see a need for them. The question is what ?
13 moringrim 2013-07-03
I guess they are scared of their own people.. and in the light of recent events they should be!
7 nighthawk1961 2013-07-03
Yes, given recent events the Government sure looks like they are scared of their own people. This looks to a very interesting summer and autumn.

Gotta tell us what town to lend our eyes.
1 freerangekitties 2013-07-03
Same thing happened in my small MN town. Use to be 3 patrol cars out between 10pm and 5am, and now there are 12, but 9 of them sit in perkins and wait for calls. I've cooked for those lazy bastards before, and iv even heard them say they're glad to be getting paid for no work.

Is it possible that they had some "use it or lose it" Federal money? I know there has been a lot of it floating around the past couple of years.
3 Camelcowboy428 2013-07-03
Could definitely be possible. I will look into public records and payroll if I can this has really peaked my curiosity.
5 Kelson42 2013-07-03
I believe you're looking for the phrase "piqued my curiosity". No offense meant. I just know I'd appreciate it if someone let me know if I mixed up a homophone.
In all things, stay vigilant.

None taken.

I was thinking something similar. Perhaps using up a surplus on useless additional staff to demonstrate a 'need' for continued funds.
2 aguy01 2013-07-03
Conditional funding is just another way of directing behavior.

Here is the thing about hiring people, you have to budget the fact that you will be paying for their retirement, social security taxes and benefits for a very long time. Unless the federal money is guaranteed for a long time I don't see the reason to hire personnel with grant money. You would actually buy equipment with that money.
2 eyesareitchy 2013-07-03
Here is the thing about America nowadays, nobody gets retirement or benefits, so nobody has to budget for them.
1 1345 2013-07-03
You may have a point there when talking about employment for a private firm, but within Civil Service, State and Local Government I do believe they have to take that into consideration. Now, if they are hiring extra law enforcement as contractors yeah all they have to pay is the salary.

I wont say the exact city but I live in marion county tn.

Well, this could be a good thing. See, most PDs hire people with IQs under 100, it's a deliberate policy because people who think for themselves generally cause trouble. So this is keeping 11 thugs off the streets, otherwise they'd be jobless and holding up 7-11s. Count your blessings, sir.

This would have me laughing my ass off if only it weren't true.
It's scary that America's police forces are becoming a mass of the semi-retarded--even scarier that a large number of these villiage idiots have done several tours of duty in Afghanistan or Iraq--you know, just in case the "low IQ" requirement isn't scary enough.

My region has seen the same. Not 5 to 16, but like 30 to 50
3 [deleted] 2013-07-03
Revenue stream. All those cops. All that extra money from ticketing.
1 sh3rog 2013-07-03
I drive by my local PD every day on my way to work, and several times in the past 6 months the parking lot has been packed. Usually there are 2-3 cars in it, not 15-20. I thought it was an open house the first time I saw it because the fire department is attached and has them sometimes, but that does not appear to be the case. As far as who is there/why IDK but it is odd

And honestly I dont belive but a few of them went through any sort of police academy. I work at a restaurant and have become friends with most of them. Being a small town there are not many places to eat so I have had a chance to talk in depth with them. From what I have surmised they hire locals and have them do sort of an internship. By internship I mean ride around with current police officers for about two weeks then they are given a vehicle, sworn in, and all such. This practice is being largely ignored and the citizens dont care that there has been a huge increase in the police force. Their reason for not caring has been and I quote " it doesnt concern us to question" I have been told that by multiple people. This nonchalant population is terrifyingly oblivious to the fact that it is our duty to question.

most likely they are veterans, its a jobs for the boys thing.
its not like there are real jobs out there in industry, so they do the DHS thing and create fake demand and fake security jobs to cover the fake need.
1 Camelcowboy428 2013-07-03
These are not veterans. They are young men in their late 20's and early 30's. Very fit capable men.
0 [deleted] 2013-07-03
Where have you been? We have been fighting wars for 10 years. I know 25 year olds that have 6 deployments and are out of the military.
1 Camelcowboy428 2013-07-03
woah man, I think of veterans as 60 year old's.
-1 [deleted] 2013-07-03
I'm 23 and a veteran. We have been sending young guys to wars for the last 10 years. Iraq and Afghanistan.
2 Camelcowboy428 2013-07-03
I know we have been. I just dont think of young men as veterans.

It's been coming, for years now. It's just time to get to the other side of this already, and find out what life is really about. Love.
1 fishforbrains 2013-07-03
It is make-work for the unemployable. But, they are bored out of their minds so they are going to fucking enforce the law to the letter and maybe beyond it because what the fuck else do they have to do and they need to bring in funds. It is a fascist police state and the end is Nazi Germany or Stalin's Russia with 21st century technology via the NSA.
1 moootz 2013-07-03
The same is happening in my town. I actually made a similar post about a week ago. My town is just another cookie cutter suburb out of some Ronald Reagan propaganda commercial.. Yet my town also has security cameras at every traffic light and all over the local public schools.
1 RedrumSsam 2013-07-03
Same here. Smallish college town in California, official population is around 100,000. Our police have all got new vehicles this year, SUVs, cars, motorcycles. They seem to have raised their numbers as well, but all I'm going off of is increased presence around the city.
0 Special-Agent-Smith 2013-07-03
Yet.
0 OWNtheNWO 2013-07-03
Because they are going to collapse everything and try and sick those 16 dumbfucks on everyone in your city.
IE: the NWO isn't very bright.

the armed American public would eat the LEOs for breakfast. its a 100 to 1 ratio thing, esp when a lot of these new LEOs are imported into an area, it might be different if they were locals.
1 Camelcowboy428 2013-07-03
Let them try, I believe when push comes to shove we will win.
0 BrittainTheCommie 2013-07-03
Unless they have ac op for every 5-10 citizens, they'll lose. A couple may get shot but the officer will be dead/overwhelmed so quickly.
-1 ZippiMaestro 2013-07-03
That is all they do. Sit and observe. Instill fear in your subjects. They have to deal with all of us. They want us to be as submissive as possible. You don't want your subjects to be wise and strong and knowledgeable. You see what happen in Ukraine? People went into the police station and arrested the raper cop. You wont see that happen here. People are too demoralized for such a strong willed action with cause and for future protection.
2 Camelcowboy428 2013-07-03
I would like to see those kinds of things happening such as the arrest and prosecution of big bank and corrupt govt officials. So I will continue to educate and speak my mind wherever im at just to ensure one more person hears the message.
