For as long as I can remember, we've been arguing about healthcare. Abortion. Gay rights. Gun rights.

And I haven't seen a damn thing change. They don't want change. They want people arguing.

I've heard there are democrats and republicans, but I haven't met any. All I've met are anti republicans and anti democrats.

Why are there 20 some odd "reality" shows. and only 2 good shows running right now (Fallen Sky and Longmire).

Why does each channel have their own version of the same crappy show? Why are they always about fighting in one way or an other? I hate that TV is overrun by privileged rich whiners, petty pawn shops, constant fighting, ignorant hillbillies, people trying to sell worthless junk at top dollar and frivolous fluff on the "news".

We are out there, but you have to bring up the discussion. There is no change coming, it comes from the bottom up. We call it "trickle up" politics. In order to achieve this you must inform and teach your friends to think, not learn. This is a big undertaking. Good luck. You're going to need it. :(

As long as the system still works for them, they can't afford to criticize it. It's their bread and butter, and there's no way they are going to question it; even when you tell them their pension is already mostly gone. It's just a solid wall of nope, and I don't even try any more.
