There is a group of people submitting and upvoting content specifically to discredit this subreddit. Posting about it like it's not happening while blaming participants of the subreddit isn't helping the situation.
There have been a few posts by admins and mods in other subreddits and just in general to the entirety of reddit warning companies and groups about artificially influencing voting. If someone could help me out and find a post by an admin that would be helpful, I'm not sure how I'd search for it. I guess "vote cheating" would be a good first query. Its not hard evidence that its happening here but it makes me believe that it could easily happen here.
Conspiritard is a real subreddit. They have, many times in the past, made it clear their entire premise is to discredit any honest participation in this sub for their own ends.
That's not how evidence works. That's like saying that because robberies have taken place in the past, so anything that starts to go missing MUST have been stolen.
A government operation from the 60s is reason to be suspicious about some kind of presence distorting this subreddit, that's fair. It's not evidence that this 'group' does exist, or is influencing /r/conspiracy.
Everything you have stated is true. Thank you for being fair and allowing me to hang on to my assumption.
As far as this sub reddit goes, I don't think they need a crew.
A couple of undereducated college kids working for 10 a hour could handle this,
On the other hand, what's
the deal with guys like David Icke, Steve "the Fail" Qualye and Good Ole Boy Alex Jones?
Between the marketers, the scam artists, outright agent provocateurs and the mentally ill, one must try to discern and confirm.
I do not want to imply that its all bullshit. Lord knows it has it's fair share, but there is plenty of real jewels here too. Shady manipulators doing scandalous shit, work around the clock
Given the US government's anti conspiracy theory position (i.e.: they tend to shed light on government misdeeds), and the understanding that the US government maintains a presence on Reddit, I don't think this is a group of under educated college kids.
David Icke has a ton of great information... He gets a lot of flack for his fringe theories like the lizards and the moon matrix - but this guy has been way ahead of his time for years. He broke the Jimmy Savile story before Savile died, and he predicted 911 with stunning accuracy... so you have to give him some props.
Alex Jones is a blowhard and an asshole... and I can't stand listening to him talk... but he has some great guests, and prison planet is one of the best conspiracy theory hubs out there.
Steve Quayle I have only just found out about... he has some Coast 2 Coast interviews that you can find on youtube. He talks about some freaky stuff, but whether he is right or wrong, he knows his shit... He pointed me to Genesis: Chapter 6 in the bible, and I have to say it blew me away.
These people are at least sincere, and although it is good to be suspicious of them all, they do deserve a place here on this subreddit.
It may just be me, but maybe it's not a good idea to try and look for a scapegoat and perhaps try to help improve the subreddit overall? It never does any good to just point fingers and try to direct the blame on others.
assumptions aside, I still stand by what I say. Whether they are or aren't [based on one or two who did in the past] doesn't mean anything because what can you get done by pointing fingers? People tend to just do that and nothing more.
What I'm asking is to take an active role in improving the subreddit instead of merely pointing fingers. I don't know, that's really all I can say.
I take as active a role as possible without staging raids and buying upvotes, thank you. I see you're taking an active role as well in managing this sub.
I honestly doubt it. What's actually likely is that people blindly upvote shit that appeals to their preconceived notions. There aren't enough people willing to do something in /r/conspiratard to do anything worthwhile.
I think someone figured out we get an influx of subscribers after every big event.... They had to make this place look like a circus to scare the new guys away.
Oh yeah that's right. This may well be the first time I have commented in this sub, and certainly I haven't submitted anything here. To do so would be a waste of my time.
Are you suggesting I have been been posting things, and thus wasting my time? The reality is, this subreddit attracts the unhinged, and some are more unhinged than others. All appear to lack critical thinking skills, thus the dross being upvoted to the front page.
Haha, generalizing. Just because someone believes in baby Jesus and the devil doesn't mean we all do. Self importance has nothing to do with what he posted. He stated a fact, which has alluded you, because you believe all top up voted material represents a collective mind of everyone here. Which is false. People will do anything to feed themselves, especially when it only involves clicking on things on the Internet. Do you honestly believe that nothing like upvote groups exist? If 2 girls 1 cup is a real thing, but businesses of dissuasion are considered not a real thing, then this must not be the Internet.
In the two plus years I've been here this sub has almost quintupled in size.
Newbies are notoriously gullible and tend to get sucked into the Satanism / Masonry / Lizards / Nibiru / Jews stuff real quick like. I know this because I was one of them for a couple months (hey, I'm not proud - it's just what happened). When you're rebuilding your self of "reality" you tend to have an open mind; sometimes a little to open.
I count all of this as relatively normal.
The only thing I'm a touch impatient about is a combination of solutions and action.
We can discuss who's fucking us and how, but the real question is this:
Why do you insist on lumping "Jews" together in that list of yours? You are one of the problems with /r/conspiracy. You think that just because someone criticizes Zionism or Israel they should be ridiculed and put together with the Nibiru Satan wackjobs.
I've been studying this stuff for years and years (ever since 911) and I didn't get into the Satanism, Masonry, Lizards stuff until the last couple of years... I personally think there is something to it...
Having looked deeply into all things Masonic it's mostly a distraction. Yes there are high level Masons doing total bullshit, but it's not a part of the Luciferian ideology. They're dicks within the lodges and they have no regard, respect or allegiance to the foundations of Masonry.
Satanism is just fucking idiotic. These people do not believe in Satan. If anything they might believe in Jungian phantoms they can interact with on a dream level or something. I don't buy the Satanism angle for a second. I've never run across anyone within the lodges that believes in Satan, I've never read any of their literature that refers to Satan and I see nothing within their ideology or symbol set that refers to Satan. They talk about Lucifer endlessly. If you're a Bible Belt Christian and don't know the difference between Lucifer and Satan that's a different story.
The lizard thing is a compete waste of time. Even if they are lizards - which has yet to be proven aside of YouTube videos with the Inception soundtrack - who fucking cares? It doesn't change the behavior of these people. Whether they're really lizards or not should not stop you from dealing with them as total dicks. One of the nice things about the lizard angle is that it makes you look like a tool when you're in public talking about politics and you call them six foot lizards. Everyone around you will stop talking to you and ridicule you. Calling them lizards alienates you immediately and stops all discussion. If they are lizards they'd probably love this. I, personally, don't care. They can be whatever they want; the important point is whether or not they act like decent caring beings.
So much of this stuff is a total waste of time.
You get sucked into all these mental cul de sacs and don't do anything because you're chasing your own tail and worrying about things that either don't exist or are irrelevant.
You wanna screw with the blood sucking, baby eating, shape-shifting interdimensional, Satanic, Jewish, Masonic lizards from Nibiru? It's identical to screwing with humans: stop playing by their rules, stop using their money and stop giving them tribute [taxes]. The solution is identical regardless of the target entity.
Don't turn it into some drama fest like /r/atheism and /r/pics or whatever. We don't need an insurgency of fuckwads in here screaming to shut down the system.
uhh what about AIPAC? Or why don't you read The Culture of Critique: An Evolutionary Analysis of Jewish Involvement in Twentieth-Century Intellectual and Political Movements
AIPAC is run by dicks, I agree. Many would consider themselves Jewish. I agree with that as well. The point at which I depart is that I don't think they're bad because they're Jewish. I think they're bad because they're acting like dicks. I know a lot of Jews who are not dicks.
Are you talking about federal reserve notes? I have no option.
No, I don't buy movies anymore and If I go out I make sure to see independent pictures. Also, not all movies are jewish, and not all jewish movies are bad. I recently saw Elysium in theatres because I'm a big fan on Blomkamp's work.
Jews don't run the world. They have immense power though.
Those 3 groups don't compare. If jews really run the banks they are the most powerful of all. You should really read culture of critique or at least this article.
Could be coincidence - but can you guys help me compile a list of people in Government and media that have something strange going on with their right eye? 478 Upvotes.
Listen... I am open minded enough that I think David Icke might be on to something with the Lizards... but this post makes no sense.
I ALWAYS look askance at posts that overtly ask this sub to gather information or volunteer metrics data. The OP never responds, and it's always a chance for those who like making the sub look bad to rise to the top.
I just hate to think of r/conspiritard yucking it up at us
They're not just "yucking it up" they are planting many of the disinformation threads, and salting them so that they remain visible. They've been trying to destroy this sub for years.
A lot of "low information" types have made their way into this sub. There are no more top posts about foundation funding the subversion of education to push a "liberal" agenda, those are all voted down. It's like disenfranchised Obamabots coming in here over the last 3 months or so.
Down vote all you want but if you think they need to use actors you're fooling yourself...we're talking about psychopaths that are more than willing to kill so why would they need actors?
Like life, you would have to sort shit out for yourself.
Not everything that everyone says is going to be true. Not everything that everyone says is going to be false. Upvotes arent and shouldn't be a measure of agreement, it is more of an indicator. Upvotes can be bought on ebay if you didn't know btw.
Instead of saying everyone in this subreddit is stupid because a right eye conspiracy thread got upvoted is a silly notion.
That is your observation. I respect that but i still think that people should say what they feel appropriate. They might know something we dont. We might be able to educate them. So live and let live :)
I admit to upvoting the Kerry post simply because it made me giggle. We can't all age gracefully, especially us reptilians.
The hip-hop video, while I agree it's wacky, seems relatively harmless. The prevailing theory about the music industry & their social engineering (intentional or otherwise) definitely has some merit imo.
Everything about the navy yard situation seems reactionary and crappy. They're not a'comin for our guns, our political climate in the foreseeable future would not allow that.
TBH, I'm still just pissed nothing substantial reform-wise has come from the Snowden leaks.
This happens every year about this time. 3 to 4 months after the end of flu season people in multiple studies have been shown to make decisions less analytically and more emotionally. Nobody has figured out a cause but it's correlated with a dip then a boost in the immune system.
Could be coincidence - but can you guys help me compile a list of people in Government and media that have something strange going on with their right eye? 478 Upvotes.
Listen... I am open minded enough that I think David Icke might be on to something with the Lizards... but this post makes no sense.
If you read the OPs comments, he distinctly said he doesnt think anything of it, and that hes just making conversation.
No its not you, I am afraid something big is coming.
FEMA coffins are moving to puerto rico with military, grid takedown is being practised and People are finally starting to be immune on antibiotics.
If disease with electricity takedown (which means communication etc...) would take place, it would be perfect opportunity to divide and conquer. I just hope that Syria wasnt that much of a plane changer and that they dont start feeling endangered to act quickly.
Just because certain things don't matter to you because of your lack of foresight or knowledge on these issues doesnt mean they aren't real.
Before the Syria thing, the last time I saw or heard John kerry speak he seemed quite normal. I do not remember his eye looking that way. Maybe he's getting older, to me it made him look more sinister.
The news store being reported a day before happening does have context in terms of a precedent being set where it wasn't a glitch of time zones.
Thirdly, there is DEFINITELY a conspiracy behind hip hop. Only the gullible ones listening to it like it's ONLY music don't see that.
I don't expect someone spending most of their time on r/breakingbad where THEY want you to be, to understand.
And this, right here, it's what drives me nuts. Participating in another sub, even a popular culture or sports sub DOES NOT PRECLUDE or ECLIPSE my involvement in the search for truth!
The cloistered become the ignorant.
Let's get out and experience the world we are attempting to change. We can't all just sit around and flesh out every discrepancy, without any refreshment. That would (and does, I believe) create the lunacy we're lamenting here...
Exactly. I don't normally look into someone's comment/post history, but when I do and I find that they post almost exclusively in this sub and don't have any other hobbies, then I know that something is wrong. Whether it's obsessive paranoid schizophrenia or disinformation specialist, there's something behind it.
tl;dr I don't trust anyone without hobbies outside of conspiracies.
I ve been reading r/conspiracy for a few weeks now, great info all the time. When I saw on the first page the right eye shit and the video of the guy with MJ tape I was a bit shocked. I wondered why would these stupid shit be on the front page of r/conspiracy.
I agree with your concerns, but I think there is a more pervasive problem. There are a huge amount of 9/11 stories on the front page at the moment, pushing off news about current conspiracies. I think this is deliberate.
Although there can be few people here who don't know 9/11 was an inside job, it is not exactly pressing news. There are other things (Syria, Ison in particular) which are of immediate concern but which are being drowned out by "new" 9/11 revelations.
I attribute the 9/11 posts to the fact that this is September and people are thinking about 9/11. It's in the news, it's on television. It's hard NOT to think about it. But yes, overall there are way too many 9/11 stories.
This subreddit has been compromised. Join r/CallToAction if you want to be an internet warrior for freedom. If you want to keep feeling good that you're "informing" yourself with the above-listed kind of trash, then by all means keep fucking off here in this sub.
Are you suggesting I have been been posting things, and thus wasting my time? The reality is, this subreddit attracts the unhinged, and some are more unhinged than others. All appear to lack critical thinking skills, thus the dross being upvoted to the front page.

What a bad argument... I also said "if". I'm sure it's a lot more complex than jews running banks
1 archonemis 2013-09-17
Your article talked about Pat Buchanan, Mexicans and Jews spitting on crosses.
No offence, but it was a pretty lame article.
Yeah, it's more complex than I made it sound. It's also more complex than the article to which you linked.
And I expect you to still insist that it's all The Jews.
1 KonDon 2013-09-17
It's not. That's a pretty lame synopsis of the article too.
1 archonemis 2013-09-17
You were impressed. I was not.
I don't think it's a big deal.

Some silly/stupid/easily debunked or straw-manned topics seem to be deliberately posted here imo. Let the downvotes rain.

"Suddenly"?
I cannot remember when it was any different.

Yep

I ALWAYS look askance at posts that overtly ask this sub to gather information or volunteer metrics data. The OP never responds, and it's always a chance for those who like making the sub look bad to rise to the top.
2 4too 2013-09-17
They're not just "yucking it up" they are planting many of the disinformation threads, and salting them so that they remain visible. They've been trying to destroy this sub for years.
3 Wilwheatonfan87 2013-09-17
I think you're giving that subreddit a bit too much credit based off of the doings of one or two people.
2 quietlyaccountedfor 2013-09-17
Just zeroes and ones....
2 jakenichols 2013-09-17
A lot of "low information" types have made their way into this sub. There are no more top posts about foundation funding the subversion of education to push a "liberal" agenda, those are all voted down. It's like disenfranchised Obamabots coming in here over the last 3 months or so.
2 Brokennoun88 2013-09-17
We live in a world of disinformation, we have to start using our brains and thinking for ourselves!
2 drbarber 2013-09-17
Seriously need to get off of this crisis actors crap every time something major happens too...
1 drbarber 2013-09-17
Down vote all you want but if you think they need to use actors you're fooling yourself...we're talking about psychopaths that are more than willing to kill so why would they need actors?
2 [deleted] 2013-09-17
Like life, you would have to sort shit out for yourself.
Not everything that everyone says is going to be true. Not everything that everyone says is going to be false. Upvotes arent and shouldn't be a measure of agreement, it is more of an indicator. Upvotes can be bought on ebay if you didn't know btw.
Instead of saying everyone in this subreddit is stupid because a right eye conspiracy thread got upvoted is a silly notion.
2 colaturka 2013-09-17
Not because of a single post, the whole sub has gone shit lately.
1 [deleted] 2013-09-17
That is your observation. I respect that but i still think that people should say what they feel appropriate. They might know something we dont. We might be able to educate them. So live and let live :)
2 colaturka 2013-09-17
It is.
1 SpacePirat3 2013-09-17
I admit to upvoting the Kerry post simply because it made me giggle. We can't all age gracefully, especially us reptilians.
The hip-hop video, while I agree it's wacky, seems relatively harmless. The prevailing theory about the music industry & their social engineering (intentional or otherwise) definitely has some merit imo.
Everything about the navy yard situation seems reactionary and crappy. They're not a'comin for our guns, our political climate in the foreseeable future would not allow that.
TBH, I'm still just pissed nothing substantial reform-wise has come from the Snowden leaks.
2 BadgerGecko 2013-09-17
I created /r/conspiracyhumour in the midst of a stream of funnies making the front page last time.
Check it out

We just need to be more active. Scroll the new page upvote good stuff down dross
1 micktravis 2013-09-17
This happens every year about this time. 3 to 4 months after the end of flu season people in multiple studies have been shown to make decisions less analytically and more emotionally. Nobody has figured out a cause but it's correlated with a dip then a boost in the immune system.
1 fredman555 2013-09-17
If you read the OPs comments, he distinctly said he doesnt think anything of it, and that hes just making conversation.
Reddit...gullible indeed
1 zahjin 2013-09-17
No its not you, I am afraid something big is coming.
FEMA coffins are moving to puerto rico with military, grid takedown is being practised and People are finally starting to be immune on antibiotics.
If disease with electricity takedown (which means communication etc...) would take place, it would be perfect opportunity to divide and conquer. I just hope that Syria wasnt that much of a plane changer and that they dont start feeling endangered to act quickly.
0 TILearnedNothing 2013-09-17
4 itwashimmusic 2013-09-17
And this, right here, it's what drives me nuts. Participating in another sub, even a popular culture or sports sub DOES NOT PRECLUDE or ECLIPSE my involvement in the search for truth!
The cloistered become the ignorant.
Let's get out and experience the world we are attempting to change. We can't all just sit around and flesh out every discrepancy, without any refreshment. That would (and does, I believe) create the lunacy we're lamenting here...
1 Doctor_Brain-Wave 2013-09-17
0 TILearnedNothing 2013-09-17
In other words you only trust what you see on the internet. Smaaaht.
0 TILearnedNothing 2013-09-17
Get out and experience the world by.. sitting on your ass eating Doritos and watching soccer and breaking bad?
K, thanks for the input sir.
1 itwashimmusic 2013-09-17
I'm so glad you know everything I do and am based on my post history! Reddit works again! Well done sir!

there are more conspiracies by conspiracy theorists than in real life

I ve been reading r/conspiracy for a few weeks now, great info all the time. When I saw on the first page the right eye shit and the video of the guy with MJ tape I was a bit shocked. I wondered why would these stupid shit be on the front page of r/conspiracy.
0 Frogtarius 2013-09-17
Sock puppets talking to each other.
-1 Sabremesh 2013-09-17
I agree with your concerns, but I think there is a more pervasive problem. There are a huge amount of 9/11 stories on the front page at the moment, pushing off news about current conspiracies. I think this is deliberate.
Although there can be few people here who don't know 9/11 was an inside job, it is not exactly pressing news. There are other things (Syria, Ison in particular) which are of immediate concern but which are being drowned out by "new" 9/11 revelations.
1 Maxwyfe 2013-09-17
