How long until SHTF?

How long do you all think we have until the economy collapses and/or a large scale event happens that puts most of the US into martial law?

I'd say in about 7 hours and 35 minutes.

Yeah a lot of people think it's an ad campaign. Could be. Their YouTube page looks wild when you scroll a hundred or so videos down.

You should check out /r/collapse
There are 2 main view points:
I personally believe in fast collapse. It's only a matter of time before a trigger event happens (probably economic) and the dominoes start to fall. It's hard to put an exact time frame on it though -- could be weeks, months, or years.
2 akeith2002 2013-09-23
Awesome. Thanks very much for this. I will check it out. I personally believe in the fast collapse as well, although I thought a few years ago it was going to happen and has not, yet.
I am extremely baffled that most people believe it's going to be 20-50+ years of a slow collapse or none at all... wow.

Well, there is history to back that view point up. Rome didn't collapse in a day. It slowly declined over hundreds of years. Eventually, it became irrelevant. But, the way that our financial system is set up, and the way that everyone depends on the supply chain for all their resources, and the way that our infrastructure works --- it's a recipe for disaster. One major hit could cause the whole house of cards to come tumbling down.

It already has, bro.
This is a process.
Not a Michael Bay event.

You mean, Nibiru? or literally, the comet? ha
2 TheBelowIsFalse 2013-09-23
I think he's referring to ISON.
1 Gnome_Sayin 2013-09-23
theyre all the same thing
1 productionx 2013-09-23
When is it going to be visible?
2 TheBelowIsFalse 2013-09-23
When I discuss it with my friends, I always draw the line: "by 2015". I don't have a particular reason why; I just don't see us making it that long. It seems like ever since Sandy Hook, things have been accelerating exponentially in regard to citizens "waking up" and truth being revealed (NSA, 9/11 Truth Movement, whistle-blowers, etc.) I feel like we'll eventually come to a point where nearly everyone is awakened (and fucking pissed) and that is when the elite will realize they have a real force to deal with. Unfortunately at this point, like a spoiled child, they'll flip the Monopoly board and purposely put the economy into the ground. When that happens, it'll be the average Joes of the world against the elite and their pawns.
But, that's just my "foil hat" opinion;)

I think your are right on the money here, 2015 right before the elections, then we will see some kind of power grab and a lengthy (years) postponement of the 2016 elections (possibly war related?).

Hopefully never. We are probably going to limp along like Japan did for decades. Things will not get better until the banks are under control. They are robbing us poor.
2 s70n3834r 2013-09-23
Tiny difference from Japan: Japan spent the bulk of its deficit into its mainstreet economy, enabling it to tread water during that time; whereas the US spends the bulk of its deficit into a global economy, much of it hidden in shadows, and has nothing at all to show for it.

Just read some stuff on the Anunnaki/Nibiru and this guy, Bob Fletcher, was just on Alex Jones today talking how he found Gov. documents talking about Nibiru and how it was a real threat coming soon... and AJ ofcourse swatted it down as nonsense... Anything that doesn't prop up christianity he shuns.... lame.

Never, tbh. We'll just be status quo for the next 50-100 years.
Lots of bumps and bruises. People will slowly continue to fall off the job ranks and into disability and other forms of assistance.
For a short period, tech workers will probably prop most of the middle class wealth up. We have time to figure this all out. But, we likely won't. Either we'll rise back up as a world power, or we'll slowly devolve into a banana republic.
Probably the latter.

This current system would literally never hold up that long.
1 productionx 2013-09-23
It work is kind of hard to come by right now.
1 petedacook 2013-09-23
Never. Nothing is going to put the US into martial law and nothing will happen to put the citizens into an uproar.
There is too much control in this country for that to happen. The media is controlled, information is controlled, exchange, trade, everything is controlled.

sorry friend, I am not trying to split hairs here I just think in a sub like this we should be specific about dates otherwise our information/insight will never be taken seriously
1 Pixielo 2013-09-23
It's /r/conspiracy, no one outside here takes it seriously. ;)

Not saying there isn't a time for more specific information, but being a truly critical thinker is about more than splitting hairs. Show me someone that won't take you seriously simply because you don't have a specific date perfectly right, and I'll show you someone with a mind incapable of sifting the wheat from the chaff - a mind too uncritical to understand truth if shown in any way other than the simplest, crudest, most elementary of forms.
Truth seldom if ever comes in that guise, however. It undulates and presents itself in riddles that must be figured out yet often eludes our every grasp.
Specifics are often like smoke; concrete examples like gossamer winds.
The real truth sought often lies between the lines - not on them.

Well if you listen to that blow hard Alex Jones...it's tomorrow...oh wait tomorrow is today...tomorrow! In all reality, who knows. I think if we got into a serious war with another super power..that might do it assuming both warring sides got nuke happy. Barring a massive disease/virus outbreak I don't think it's gonna happen.
