Does anyone else get a little excited when things go wrong in government?

I know the shutdown may hurt the economy and hurt federal workers, etc. but I can't help feel excited when these things happen because I feel that great change cannot come without great upheaval. When things go wrong more people ask questions and it seems to spotlight the true issues.

They used to pay a guy to sit in the national parks to take your money. Now they are paying the same guy the same amount to keep you out.

Impossible. I've been told that these parks are communally owned by we the people. You aren't telling me they've just been telling me that so they could seize land away from its rightful owners so that an elite caste could "own" it, are you?

There's a highway that goes through the Smokey Mountains, it has a look of scenic overlooks and benches you can pull off on.
And within the next week, all of the pull offs are going to be barricaded.
They are literally going to stop people from using a highway pull off just because it has a great veiw and is on federal property.

Tried to go to the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area today, roads are already barricaded.

When things go wrong within Government (especially when it's between the two parties) then you can guarantee this is 100% intentional and completely part of the plan. That actually worries me quite a bit. What might happen in order to bring America back together to fight a common enemy?

a revolution

i made a countdown and posted it on my facebook.
Let the government shutdown and STAY shutdown. Maybe people will realize, "hey, the world isnt falling on its head without government".
if you ask me, government isnt shutdown enough

Yep.

I agree, but at the same time it sucks. My fiance is a civilian government employee, and now she's out of work for the time being. Just wish she didn't have to rely on the government for a paycheck.
0 fredman555 2013-10-01
thats the point. Get people hooked on government, and then "oh no, shutdown! we NEED government. look at all the people dependent on us". rather than allowing the populace to be independent on their own.
as for fiance, i dont have to tell you about how she should break away, but dont worry shell get retroactive pay after its over. Consider it a paid vacation with a delayed check.

Out of chaos, order. The parties work together while maintaining the illusion of separateness. Ever hear somebody say "Obama wants to, but the Republicans are blocking him." That is an illusion by the magi-cians in Washington.

That actually makes a lot of sense. I feel like I may have this condition but have just never had it vocalized before.

I think a lot of people must feel like this though. There always seem to be an underlying current of paranoia in society. Just look at how many disaster movies have been made and were popular. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_disaster_films

I feel all warm inside until I realize this only hurts us while it helps them.

This is the only time the entire US will pay attention...
2 The_eye_in_the_sky 2013-10-01
Give it 17 more days.... then everyone will pay attention.
3 Aman1996 2013-10-01
Why wait 17 more day?
6 iHusk 2013-10-01
18th is when they need to raise the ceiling or all hell will break loose.
0 The_eye_in_the_sky 2013-10-01
yes, thank you. This could literally be the shtf!
0 DVS720 2013-10-01
What would we be looking at if they fail to do their jobs by the 18th?
0 iHusk 2013-10-01
Possible world wide recession. the international currency would switch from the dollar to something else most likely. Economy tanking here. Not entirely sure but I read a lot would happen and it would not be good. Can't find where I read it though...
0 DVS720 2013-10-01
We are brushing against NWO stuff here

I feel the same way..Some may say it is all intentional. But I believe it shows their master plan isn't going as smoothly as hoped.

I never get excited while thinking about the government

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. If we're all pissed at the government, fine by me.
1 The_eye_in_the_sky 2013-10-01
There is a term for that I think.... And yes I get excited too, in a sadistic weird way.
2 Symbiotaxiplasm 2013-10-01
schadenfreude
0 The_eye_in_the_sky 2013-10-01
It wasn't this, but it will be from now on!
1 Deewweed 2013-10-01
I prefer for none of this to happen. So no I don't get excited.
1 mcr55 2013-10-01
I actually think this takes the spotlight off important issues. Besides they only shut off everything I like, parks, nasa, education... And kept the money flowing for things I hate like NSA, army, FBI....
0 techrich 2013-10-01
Now we know what all them hollow bullets where bought for, and the militarization of the police. Shits going to hit the fan, and the fan is on number 3!

As someone who lived outside DC and has been waiting all summer to take a brief vacation: I have a 6 year old and I know she won't get it but loves museums (dinos and such). I already had a hotel booked and my wife and daughter and I were due to fly out next Wednesday to DC for a long weekend. Now all the Smithsonians are closed. Unless something changes quickly, that trip is now off the table.
So, not really that excited. I feel bad for the people that are already there and can't cancel their hotels, etc.
2 lastresort09 2013-10-01
They want to inconvenience the people, while the actual government works as usual.

Yeah I saw that. Dicks all around.

The congressmen do what their sponsors orders them to. This shutdown was the result of their backer's will. It is all a theater, and I really do think this was planned, since major interlocked corporations back both parties. Trust me, this is not good at all. If the lockdown continues, military/president might have an excuse to grab more power, with support from the population.
