the shutdown seems like a "punishment"

seems like this whole shutdown is just a punishment for the people joining forces and forgetting the two party system that is there to control the public. look at the parts of the government that was shut down, blocking people from seeing national parks! but the underground subway system between the house and congress is still running!

Ya think?

From the "No Shit Department."

The shutdown is just a way to divide the american people over social issues.

The govt will make a deal on oct 17. They will continue printing money, and our currency will hyperinflate soon enough. They'll probably introduce QE4, double down their already $85 billion/day into 170 billion/day. The world will take notice, and our stocks will disengage from value, then crash. Or you'll have a cyber 9/11, then crash. Either way, by 2015, you will be like, wtf happened. (IMO)

85 billion/month

I'm not so sure there will be a deal on the 17th. You have ask how much will be made if the US defaults? QE3 is already unlimited, no need for QE4. Even if there's no big "crash" event (however you define it) we're still on a slow decline circling the drain. That just means that things can still get worse, a lot worse for the poor and middle class. There will be no "recovery" until we hit rock bottom assuming a recovery is even possible at that point.

Exactly. And yet, when I tell people this all they can say is, "But theparks and memorials!"

Seriously? Fuck those things. Close them forever, bulldoze the statues. They don't fucking matter nor have any real intrinsic value. Our country is being driven off a cliff and the only thing the public is crying about is not being able to stare at a couple of statues?

I get what you're saying. They may not be essential to anyone. But, they do serve as reminders to history, and from where we come.

UuUm ...I like parks.

Correct.

Also, it shows you who really owns public land. The public? Nope. The government.

The government in service of the private mega-corporations.

You did not push your congressman for tighter control after all those operations they worked so hard on. You also overwhelmingly opposed a war with syria when the president was dead set on it. Try harder next time they ask nicely for things, like 9-11.

It is not. It is for your own safety. You are not knowledgeable like the vast beast of the government. You are not a professional. They have experts working on this bro. Experts.

I agree. You have to get those govt workers trained to suck the master's teat harder & have those workers become more needy & compliant.
