i have no doubt in my mind that both those subreddits have been compromised for some time, the fact that there's people out there who want to throw non violent offenders in prison for life in for profit prisons should be no surprise to anyone in this subreddit this is something we've been fearing for some time.
It's just a giant tax factory with other factories scattered throughout. Between the borders is the free range area, necessary because free range humans are more productive and provide themselves with housing and food. When we break the rules, we are sent to prisons where work will bring in 1 dollar per hour, which you then have to spend on prison services, and those prisons sell the products you create, sometimes to the military or state/local governments.
A "felon" for never even harming another soul. Gotta love the logic of the state. Obey your masters and their rules or be subjected to harsh punishment from the gods of the state!!!
'It would be unconstitutional to subvert freedom of speech. Let's 'leak' this PRISM thing through that idealist kid, Snowden. We can hang him right out. Let them know we're watching. Shut them up for fear. Afterall, they aren't The People. WE'RE The People.'
Agreed. But let's have a little thought experiment.
Let's propose there is someone at one of the companies that runs a private prison(s). And that bright young employee sees social media as a method to drive business to the company. They set up a bot. They task individuals to dox users of reddit the bot identifies as potential law-breakers, then identify those in jurisdictions where they operate prisons. That information is then used to tip local LE.
Would return on investment be sufficient? Probably not, but I have no idea. Might it be in the future when more and more people are on social media? Maybe.
Question is how friendly is reddit with LEO? Surely they have had requests for logs and ip addresses at this point. Often LEO will say you can turn over servers or give us some sort of access, like they did with 4chan.
I never posted or subscribed to /r/trees, but I unsubscribed from /r/guns. I won't be a part of it. Just like I will never step foot in some states for as long as I live.
I posted why I unsubscribed and got many nice versions of have a nice day, ha.

I don't see that this as ATF related yet, just some douche who can script has written a bot to troll people.

The big difference between Reddit and all the rest is that you can create unverified accounts and post using Tor, Just saying.
r/trees is full of idiots posting pictures of grows etc.. often with no concern for anonymity

try tor and see how that works... Now if you mean a proxy sure.. or open wifi sure.. But Tor...

I am busted, you are correct. Even worse is that it allows you to sign up and post but automatically shadow bans you.
I swear this used to work.

Possibly because its legal for them to do so, at least at the state level. I don't see federal officers arresting anyone for personal use yet..

I am not saying anything about personal use I am talking about pictures of grows in excess of 100 plants.
