The US government recommends lowering the fluoride levels in drinking water

More links: how do I lower my daily fluoride dosage?

Why should I avoid fluoride?

What happens when scientists and government employees have too much fluoride in their system?

And we in Portland got laughed at and much worse for actively banning the damned stuff...

I have an acquaintance in Portland who was trying to garner support for water fluoridation on Facebook. When I pointed out the problems with water fluoridation (w/ sources) she got all pussy and said she wasn't asking for anyone's opinions and wants to fluoride for 'healthy teeth'.

Is there flouride in bottled water?

http://web.archive.org/web/20021012111812/www.pmgeiser.ch/cgi-bin/mineral?sort=f (mg/L = ppm)

I don't recommend using bottled water as a main source of water (expensive), but that is a decent list. Cheaper options are home distillers (few hundred bucks, pays for itself after 6 months-year including electricity costs VS bottled water) or a reverse osmosis system. You can add back in minerals and electrolytes using a variety of things.

Or just protest your local government and tell them to stop dumping their friend's waste in the water because he doesn't feel like paying for disposal.

(I'm getting slightly different results for each one. My guess is the fluoride content changes over time and the measurements don't necessarily reflect the current time)

Aquafina 0.05 ppm

Calistoga 0.07 ppm

Crystal Geyser 0.24 ppm

Dannon 0.11 ppm

Dasoni 0.07 ppm

Evian 0.10 ppm

Naya 0.14 ppm

Perrier 0.31 ppm

Poland Springs 0.10 ppm

Propel Fitness Water 0.02 ppm

Saratoga 0.20 ppm

Very Fine Fruit20 0.06 ppm

Average 0.11 ppm

lmao oops

Here's a pretty long list of bottled water without FLUoride.

That list is bunk. I picked a random water on there and googled it: http://www.sanpellegrino.com/static/pdf/SP_BWQR.PDF

There is a better list somewhere. I'm still trying to find it.

My bad. If you find a more accurate list please share. I'll buy some in bulk and report my results later.

I edited the list into the original post.

I'm not smart enough to say you are wrong but what i know based on other topics and what you have linked there is an issue on Fluoride. But it saves the Children (think about the Children) cause. This is the most repeated and hence the most wtf.

its for dee kidz!!!!! Italian accent

But it saves the Children (think about the Children) cause. This is the most repeated and hence the most wtf.

Huh?

i don't know why you get the fact that most media states "think about the children" subject first.

what questions do you have with that main sentence?

Relevant: there was a parks and recreations episode recently that basically made a huge joke about the fluoridated water issue. Shilling out to the max.

A reverse osmosis water filtration system will remove the fluoride but they're expensive.

This was literally just an episode of parks and recreation.

I may be wrong but doesn't fluoride also slowly secrete your pineal gland? I don't know what purpose this might serve besides altering dream states if it were true.

The Dental-Industrial Complex is to blame. They just want to escalate the War on Tooth Decay.

Okay, they are dumb enough now let's just back off on the stupid juice until we can resolve these drool disposal problems.

Fluoridated water works when very few people brush their teeth. The US (and the rest of the developed world) now has much better brushing, so there are very few people left who would gain anything from it.

That's... demonstrably false. Drinking fluoride does not help teeth.

There is a chemical reaction between the Enamel and fluoride ions that produces a stronger substance than would be present without fluoride. This can resist the effect of failing to brush teeth (plaque) for a longer period of time.
