1961: "There will be, in the next generation or so, a pharmacological method of making people love their servitude..."

"There will be, in the next generation or so, a pharmacological method of making people love their servitude, and producing dictatorship without tears, so to speak, producing a kind of painless concentration camp for entire societies, so that people will in fact have their liberties taken away from them, but will rather enjoy it, because they will be distracted from any desire to rebel by propaganda or brainwashing, or brainwashing enhanced by pharmacological methods. And this seems to be the final revolution." ~ Aldous Huxley, Tavistock Group, California Medical School, 1961

I can't guarantee that this is an exact quote but it certainly is relevant today.

It's really a crime that psychologists are so quick to turn to antidepressants (even for kids!) instead of saying, "You know, the world is really fucked up and hostile to individuals, and you are quite right to feel that it is not a safe place for you to be."

Is there a school of psychologists who believe that some of these "mental health" problems are EXTERNAL? That the world has just moved away from the environment our psyches are adapted to? Maybe that would make them non-psychologists.

the entire "treat the symptom (with a pill) not the cause" doctrine is fucked up, in regular as well as mental healthcare.

is living in a chemical fog a cure? is a lobotomy a cure? or just brain damage?

I'm reading Brave New World right now and it is such an accurate representation of the way things are.

il get to that book eventually

oh, go back to the iphone, go back to the tv

they rule by distraction, by pleasure.. there's some term for this.. where we are complacent with our reality through distraction, etc

sigh

lol. You have to just laugh about it man. Who gives a fuck. That's why you just have to turn off the fucking computer or TV and hang out with your family more.

what if they've all, or mostly been killed by al nusra?

Well, if you are in America then you should protest, write, and call your senators, representatives and anyone else you can think of seeing as to how they are probably the ones that gave al Nusra the weapons they killed your family with.

Great, insightful book!

I think that is part of it, but some of the technical advances are concerning also. We have a web of electrical impulses being set up around us everywhere. Our brains work by electrical impulses at known frequencies.

The new law stopping the production of regular light bulbs kind of throws a red flag to me. Especially knowing that florescent light bulbs can be used as a dynamically tuned plasma antenna. A regular light bulb can not. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plasma_antenna

Just modulate an interference frequency onto the power grid. Make the cancellation frequency able to counter the frequency the brain puts out when in defiance. Most electronics won't be effected because they have a transformer between them and the grid.

But I am a big believer and researcher in the resonance tech.

All the attention on Colorado's recreational marijuana this week I think is relevant here.
