Oh I remember, we had a guy in our room that failed his initial locker inspection. Bombed it. The rest of us got by with minor "square this away" things. But because he failed so miserably at his. They didn't flip his shit. They flipped the three of ours. So he could learn by watching us do it again.
He then later was caught eating a cookie he stole.
And pouring out his canteen at hydration formation.
At which point, a few guys swiped oranges from the di-fac and worked this poor guy over like a part time job.
The sadder part being they got the idea from another platoons Drill Sergeant. All of us were drug outside after a flash light beating incident. And was this briefing to tell us, hey privates. Don't beat on your battle buddies. Oh no. Oh no indeed.
It was so he could pace the front of the barrack and tell us "Privates. Privates. Really. Privates. If you're going to beat your battle buddies. Do NOT use your L-Light. The only reason why we have armies in the first place are because of the warmongers. A great majority of what the armies of the world do results in nothing but death and destruction. Most people, the common citizens, have absolutely no interest in attacking or even having anything to do with other nations.
You realize if anybody has an army it kind of means everyone has to have one. Lets say every country is benevolent and peaceful, just as a thought experiment. But in this point in time, they are inside our own country. Face it, the American government is evil, and by extension, so are the soldiers that follow them and commit murder on their behalf.
That is an absolutely ridiculous statement, to paint thousands of soldiers as evil because of your belief that the leaders are. Your average low-level solider has absolutely nothing to do with the policies or actions of the army, they're just people doing jobs. That goes for every army.

That is an absolutely ridiculous statement, to paint thousands of soldiers as evil because of your belief that the leaders are. Your average low-level solider has absolutely nothing to do with the policies or actions of the army, they're just people doing jobs. That goes for every army.

By extension the citizens are evil for paying taxes. It's a very complicated situation, but we must have a military, and they must obey their leaders. If not, we would be taken over by someone else and they would draft us to fight for their military.
I am a hardcore libertarian on the verge of an anarchist, I despise violence. But I still support the troops. We must be careful where we direct our anger.

I lurk around here a lot, since I'm fascinated by hearing the other side of controversial issues and events, but you have to draw the line somewhere that not everything is a conspiracy. These are a bunch of Marines that are enjoying themselves for the brief amount of time before they're called to duty and putting their lives on the line. They're normal people, like you and I.
