The Romans would be proud.
No longer is the bread or the circus free.

While I agree that people find sports much more important than various important current events, it's funny that you equate people not liking your post to being victimized by a phantom brigade.

This celebration has been going on all..... fucking.... day........
It's practically a military parade, the team piled onto National Guard vehicles and paraded through the city with troops and cops. Most of the pre-parade footage was of military members standing around.

The conspiracy is that our media will put 4 guys on a panel and have them endlessly analyze every trivial detail of a football team, but that same media will never put 4 guys on a panel to go over every detail of the LIBOR scandal.
Oh, you haven't heard of the LIBOR scandal? Its because you were too busy being entertained and enlightened on what it really takes to win a football game.

What was the conspiracy again?

The media plays a major role in the dumbing down of America. If people really cared about football, they would go to the game and see it live. Lots of people only watch football because its on TV. If TV put something more intelligent on, then TV consumers might be a little more intelligent. As it is, its just a weapon of mass distraction, and thats no accident. Its by design.

Just wait the powers to be are warming us all up for something delightful.
Imagine if a building was hit in LA this Friday! The nation would freak out just like 9/11 all over again.
I like to imagine 9/11 being that moment when a wolf jumps into the sheep pen. They go nuts!
