Project MKUltra and Scopolamine

Tl;dr Project MKUltra was a CIA operation with the goal of experimenting on mind control. I'm sure that most of you have heard of this project and are familiar with it's abuse of LSD. After two decades of top secret research the project becoming known to the public and it was deemed a failure. What drives me crazy about mkultra is its immediate link to lsd. But a lot of people don't realize they also experimented with the drug Scopolamine (see experiments > other drugs)
http://www.cruisebruise.com/Scopolamine.html
Scopolamine is know as the mind control drug. In high dosages it will make the victim black out and do whatever they are told for 6-8 hours, with no memory of the Black out.
Some people believe the Dark Knight Rises shooter was under the influence of Scopolomine during the incident. You can Google that I'm at work on the toilet typing this up. Just something I wanted to bring to this community's attention, how scary it is a drug like this exists.

The downvote bots are back. All the new submissions are being heavily buried.
I think scopalimine has been in the intelligence playbook for decades. It's likely what Sirhan Sirhan was given by the girl in the polka dot dress right before someone else killed RFK.

Vice did a documentary about this. The filmmakers ended up sorta bitching out in the end though, they got their hands on some but decided to just get rid of it rather than trying it to see the effects.

They pussied out. I didn't.
I took 5.1mg of scopolamine in the interest of science and curiosity.
Being under the influence is fucking scary, not when you're on it, but afterwards. I was completely submissive and euphoric, everything was meant to be. I made my cousin a cup of tea because she asked me to, except she was on the other side of the world. I turned around with the tea and she was gone, and it didn't even process in my mind that that was odd. I don't remember much else, so the memory inhibition is certainly real, the submissivness is real. The worst part is thinking that everything you're doing is normal, not questioning anything.

Did you document this somehow?
3 culverit 2014-03-13
Not really, I couldn't because I don't remember much at all. When you're on it though, there is absolutely no questioning, it seems to dissolve the sense that there is anything evil in the world. If someone asked me to kill someone, I would have done it happily while thinking that this is totally normal and I should be doing it. There is no concept of wrong.
If I can get a trip sitter and someone to do some basic (safe) experiments on my psyche, I'll be doing it again with formal documentation.

Wow that would be very interesting for sure
1 tft2 2014-03-13
Yes. Video tape it! And some other...thing...that can dissuade people from thinking it's a hoax.

Infomercials. scopolamine and infomercials. I would watch that YouTube video.
2 dsprox 2014-03-13
Ok it's called controlled conditions and they're not that hard to do.
Verify on video that the substance being ingested is indeed scopolamine in a manner that allows viewers to do the same, such as using a test kit which viewers can buy to see for themselves.

I brought this up a few weeks ago and was pretty heavily downvoted.
2 Ambiguously_Ironic 2014-03-13
Brought up the documentary or the fact that they let everyone down at the end by dumping it down the toilet without trying it?
I remember watching it a year or so ago and having a major "wtf?????" moment when I watched them get rid of it.
3 catholic__cock 2014-03-13
When i brought it up as a potential explanation for some of these new mass murderers we've seen in the last few years. I can only imagine there's a "weaponized" version of this stuff by now
I agree though, the end of that doc was a big letdown
3 WadeWilsonforPope 2014-03-13
I saw this one too. I thought a lot of it was based on the anecdotal stories people told but we never saw anyone really fucked up on that drug.

Here's some interesting experiences.

Was very disappointed in that documentary. I mean fuck your in a room Moines going to mess with you. It was part of the whole thing and he just doesn't do it. Load of crap people have been taking it for years at a shamanistic tool.

I know youre right about the scopalimine patches for sea sickness but how in the hell do you accidentally get the patch to touch your eye?
4 ghostsdoexist 2014-03-13
Something doesn't have to touch one's eye for something to get in one's eye*. Assuming there are actually reports of scopalamine from a patch getting into people's eyes, it probably came about by someone handling a patch and then either consciously or unconsciously touching their eyes.

uh.....scopolamine for sea sickness? Why not dramamine?
2 WadeWilsonforPope 2014-03-13
I dunno. The wikipedia page for page for scopalimine lists it as being used for motion sickness.
-5 TheHighestEagle 2014-03-13
Ok well lets not just go by wikipedia dude...lol
3 WadeWilsonforPope 2014-03-13
and it was mentioned in the documentary that vice made called Colombian Devils Breath.

I just figured that wikipedia would be easiest to reference, and you could have looked up the references yourself if you cared.

I saw that vice doc its pretty good. I just dont see how a medical professional would sign off on giving scopolamine when there are many safer alternatives available...Itd be like giving someone meth for a headache.
2 ayn-ahuasca 2014-03-13
I've used it - it worked extremely well for me with no side effects. It's a little transdermal sticker about the size of a dime that goes behind your ear and lasts about three days.
Dramamine just makes me sleepy... and still seasick. I get motion sickness just standing on the dock.
1 MerlinTheWhite 2014-03-13
Well they act the same way, except Scopolamine is more potent. They can fit enough in a patch to last 3 days.

A friend of mine told me a few stories about people doing this in Colombia where she is from. They put it in peoples drinks or blow it in their faces or find another way to drug them, then they take them to the ATM, to their house, and help them selves to what they want.
Recently her father was actually a victim of this. He is an older dude and luckily he was ok after, he only emptied his account via ATM for these thief's.
And this is a movie we watched after she told me all the stories. A guy is drugged and looses his memory. Good movie. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buscando_a_Miguel
And a reddit post I just encountered while searching for the movie name. http://www.reddit.com/r/AMA/comments/1o2yot/ama_i_have_been_a_victim_of_scopolamine_spiked/

I have a pet theory that some gypsies have been able to get a hold of similar drugs with their extensive travel network. I'd wager that there are a variety of similar chemicals available in India and Eastern Africa (the wetter parts).
5 ShiftSurfer 2014-03-13
Scopolamine is currently the CIAs drug of choice for brainwashing/controlling people. People should be aware that such a thing exists.
Ever see a movie where powder is blown in someones face and then they act like a zombie? That is a portrayal of scopolamine. It's delivery method can be done a number of ways.
Do your research, don't be a victim.
5 curiosity36 2014-03-13
More likely they'd mix it with DMSO and load that up in a device that's pretty much a felt tip pen. DMSO goes through biological organisms like water through a sponge and can be used to carry other liquids with it. Supposedly, if you mix DMSO with lemon juice and spill it on your hand you'll taste the lemon juice in seconds. Then they would only need to "accidentally" brush up against you with said pen for the drug to take effect. This is what they did with snake venoms to kill people, according to multiple sources. Google "dmso cia felt tip pens."

I came up with this one off the top of my head due to the description /u/shitsurfer gave
Just so you know that movie was based on the series of events that occured, back in the 60's through to the 80's, to Clairvius Narcisse and and the subsequent research by Wade Davis.
Clairvius Narcisse and others were zombified and enslaved to work on a sugar plantation. Zombified using none other than....
Wait for it...
Scopolamine.
Not really hard to research that to be honest. But then I am already familiar with it all.

The Serpent and the Rainbow?
I'll have to rewatch that, thanks

Here's a short webcomic about the origins of Scopolamine and it's use by the US government for various tests under MKULTRA.
