That assange is supposed to leak the country that the nsa is monitoring that could cause a death...

Glenn Greenwald and Wikileaks had a very contentious twitter back and forth about this. Wikileaks ended up calling Greenwald a racist apologist in bed with the Pentagon.
Edit: Found a link of the back and forth. Interesting that Wikileaks calls the country in question a "US dominated country"

Be careful, anything from "Little Green Footballs" is suspicious and known to be agenda driven.
For instance, LGF won the "Best Israel Advocacy Blog" award from the Jerusalem Post in 2005.
1 HermitTheSlob 2014-05-22
I've been leaning in this direction. Real muckrakers are marginalized nowadays. I can't speak for the racist part but something stinks here.
5 gmotruth 2014-05-22
I'm on the fence regarding Greenwald. He is happy to make assertions about others, but you aren't allowed to question his motives at all without him blowing up.
5 dusty_rowboats 2014-05-22
Greenwald and snowden are almost certainly a limited hangout.
Leaking only stuff that had already been illustrated by previous guys like William Binney and Russ Tice.
Super slow publishing of this info to get the public desensitized and tired of the topic.
Greenwald going to work for the quarter billion dollar startup, the intercept, with Omidyar. Publishing something about once a month.
6 my_newz_account 2014-05-22
I don't disagree with you on your points other than
I think we do not have sufficient evidence to claim he is or is not one, yet.
Again all your points make sense. Though, what if their intent is to leak this information increasingly to build up to the devastating stuff that could change governments?
I have no idea if that will happen or a completely different set of circumstances occur, but I do know that I don't know.
0 dusty_rowboats 2014-05-22
I hear ya. Go browse r/limitedhangouts for an hour and see if you are still unconvinced.
3 my_newz_account 2014-05-22
I have and am still unconvinced. In my opinion there is no solid evidence he is either a limited hangout or not.
Every point pointing to limited hangout can also be perceived to as a legitimate building up of company like Wikileaks to bring forth leaks from governments that people need to hear about. If he was just running a blog, no one would take him seriously. He is setting up a professional medium through which to pass this information he has onto others.
I think that if he is genuine, then he is doing the best he can with what he has. Am I frustrated he hasn't dumped all the info to the web and let us sort through it? Yes. Though, I am aware that such a tactic is needed to remain in the medias spotlight as well substantiate his legitimacy.
If they just threw a ton of documents at us, can we prove they were doctored or not? No, but if they write a well written article to go along with the documents the information can be displayed in an effective manner.

Two weeks from now, the NSA/Snowden/Greenwald story will be a year old, and there hasn't been any big revelations that haven't already been covered by previous whistle blowers. A full year. How much time do they need?
The public is sick and tired of the story.
Greenwald is making bank at a place with highly questionable financial support that seems to say one thing yet do another.
Regardless of what can be proven about greenwalds inner motivations, this whole thing has had the net effect on society of a well planned limited hangout. If it quacks like a duck, forgive me for calling it a duck.
3 my_newz_account 2014-05-22
You think there is enough evidence to call him a duck, I don't.
Time will tell.
1 WorkerInterests 2014-05-22
yeah well, the case is certainly growing, isnt it?
lets see what the BIG story is in 4-8weeks
2 my_newz_account 2014-05-22
Yes. I am inclined to say that I am leaning towards him being a limited hangout.
2 WorkerInterests 2014-05-22

Wiki
basically releasing information to make it seem like x is really bad whereas they are trying to hide extremely bad y from public view by putting focus on x.
1 WorkerInterests 2014-05-22
limiting exposure, limiting criticism
akin to saying 'hey hitler kicked his dog, how terrible'(when in reality he done much worse'
akin to saying 'hey were record all phone calls in the bahamas' (when in reality its the whole fucking world

Recently used method on reddit to try and discredit people the United States Government wants dead for leaking information about Government Abuses. /r/limitedhangouts is a shill sub it's only there so they can spam their sub all over /r/Conspiracy. Its not hard to see what they are trying to do but I'm positive that people are smart enough to see through the bullshit that is /r/LimitedHangouts and it's mods.

Had a run in with one of their disciples over the past few days. Wasn't sure until after a few rounds, but now tagged as disinformation.
1 WorkerInterests 2014-05-22
yea, spreading the word about not believing snowden is who he says he is just because the new york times told u so
critical thinking, stay skepticalll
1 [deleted] 2014-05-22
I was speaking about a specific conversation with a specific person. He did such a poor job of presenting your argument I almost wrote it off wholesale.
1 WorkerInterests 2014-05-22
its not my argument. its everybodys, its called being skeptical
1 [deleted] 2014-05-22
Not sure everyone is truly skeptical, but you are free to believe otherwise.
1 monkeyhear 2014-05-22
so you honestly think snowden is so evasive he is beyond the reach of the world bank governments? no one is that naive, are they?
1 [deleted] 2014-05-22

1 MaplePancake 2014-05-22
Cannot be sure but it's best to assume any information can be disinformation it is a certainty that the govt is interested in derailing public discourse and the spread of information. Causing doubt and infighting would be a great way. That being said I think it is likely wiki leaks or the Snowden side have been infiltrated. If this revelation ever comes out and it indeed does cause deaths or some kind of major shakeup... I would be pretty sure wiki leaks was either coopted from the beginning or is a limited hangout. The govt desperately needs a new bigger badder ''see what happens'' for leaks so they can redouble their efforts to clamp down.... on all of us.
-1 WorkerInterests 2014-05-22
ha! so, partnering with a billionaire who shells out $250,000,000... lol!
0 WorkerInterests 2014-05-22
yup
guardian is msm/corporate media. greenwald can freely go on msnbc and a viacom show (colbert)
he aint no hastings
2 WorkerInterests 2014-05-22
you should be highly skeptical of greenwald.. Why? maybe because its
snowden --> greenwald --> the world
he is the 'mouthpiece' for the nsa leaks. tptb like him..thats why he can go on msnbc and a viacom show to sell a book.
controlled opposition, limited hangout. greenwald chooses what to publish from what snowden gave him, that is a fact
stay skeptical
1 MaplePancake 2014-05-22
To be fair Greenwald is a ''legitimate'' journalist, if he wasn't the government is putting things in place to just shut that right down. If he is not coopted yet they would have trouble simply arresting him etc as it would tip their hand.
0 letsgoblues 2014-05-22
My theory is Greewald is CIA and Wikileaks is NSA.

I'm waiting for the big news announcement of an a-list celeb who has died suddenly or some other manufactured breaking news event that will suck up every minute of our mainstream media's attention. That's when I'll know it's been released.
1 theos13 2014-05-22
Or maybe a big to-do about a racist remark from some sports team owner. Or maybe Russia will become an imminent threat for some classified reason requiring further military response. Or maybe someone will just fly a plane into a building again.
1 Conspire2Aspire 2014-05-22
i think i just watched a video about Mark Cuban owner of the Mavericks talking about racist remarks. hmm

If this is from the 16th why did wikileaks and greenwald argue about releasing it the other day?
1 YoureAllRobots 2014-05-22
That makes no sense. How would this cause deaths? Israelis know they are under constant surveillance.
1 k_e_o_l 2014-05-22

no. greenwald directly said he wouldn't release info because it would cause deaths.

I'm not 100% convinced this is related in any way shape or form to the leaks here, but, if it is Israel that we are recording everything on, prepare for a massive shit storm.
2 mrbig99 2014-05-22
No it isn't, it's Afghanistan. Check Wikileaks Twitter.
3 gmotruth 2014-05-22
This isn't the Bahamas?
3 Matt_Phyche 2014-05-22
There was a recent leak about the Bahamas, this is a different one!
2 my_newz_account 2014-05-22
That is what I thought too, a lot of online articles confused me about the unmentioned country versus how the Bahamas are completely locked down, and they know everything going in and out of that country.
I think there is a concerted effort to make readers think that nameless country is the Bahamas and just to dismiss it. Though, those of us on top of the fucking story know Greenwald claims people may die from the country's name being released, whereas when Bahamas was released as a country being 100% infiltrated, heads didn't roll that much.
edit: or its due to poor journalism which mainstream has slipped into.
2 gmotruth 2014-05-22
His interest in "one small company" is curious. Does he really think protecting one small company outweighs the rights of everyone else in that country?
1 my_newz_account 2014-05-22
Do you want to be responsible for releasing a name and then people being killed out of consequence to your action?
That is the power he is dealing with. Yes it could outweigh. Depends on ones perspective.
1 gmotruth 2014-05-22
It didn't keep him from releasing information he knew would risk lives when he first made his fame (and subsequent fortune) off of Snowden's information.

2 LeviGoldberg 2014-05-22
My guess is Pakistan. It's the most unstable nation in the world with nukes and a sizable enough radical population that it could erupt in violence if there was even the suggestion of ISI aiding the NSA in doing this.
1 IntrinsicThought 2014-05-22
Checked online, the country hasn't been released yet. Israel, while a likely answer, hasn't been confirmed.
0 FormalPants 2014-05-22
How is Isreal not the least likely answer? What are they going to do, throw a fit and refuse billions of dollars in aid and military protection?
1 timetesla 2014-05-22
Probably Pakistan
1 herbalism 2014-05-22
It sure would be easy to monitor phone calls in North Korea. There are probably less than 100 phones in the entire country.
1 BipolarsExperiment 2014-05-22
Greenwald said people could die...so i'm going to have to assume it's a first world country, probably western european in nature. I'll guess France or the UK, I can't see many countries caring enough to die just like we didn't.
1 ugdr6424 2014-05-22
Canada. 3-1. Any takers?
3 MaplePancake 2014-05-22
Our telecoms all run through the states, anyone with a brain here already knows we are being recorded.
2 ugdr6424 2014-05-22
It was a joke. Apparently, a dumb one.
1 MaplePancake 2014-05-22

Laugh or cry, brother.
1 DaBigFlippa 2014-05-22
Any news on this yet? I haven't heard anything. 72 hours is almost up...
1 das_totes_inappropes 2014-05-22
My speculations: Maybe the redacted country, and the story coming up in 4-8 weeks are related. Maybe it's Saudi Arabia, and maybe in 4-8 weeks there's info about 9/11. Maybe it's Switzerland, and in 4-8 weeks we'll learn the country isn't neutral.
1 winsomecowboy 2014-05-22
The statement that 'it could cause a death' is irrelevant template response. NZ? Australia? it really doesn't matter. The NSA and partners have the entire western world cached and this dribbling of OMG country X or country Y is a decade old piece of distractive pap IMO.
1 ENYAY7 2014-05-22
Nothing yet? I guess Pakistan as well, even though Bin Laden was supposedly hiding there, but maybe that's why.

1 joekerr37 2014-05-22
ya my guess would be Canada (which happens to be my country).
1 MaplePancake 2014-05-22
I assumed we were already being monitored in general as our telecoms all go south of the border.
