The purpose of the media is to CONTROL us. It does that by dividing us, but also by planting misinformation, or simply by drowning out the real true information (US military atrocities, Ukraine war).

Churches are part of the game, too.

That said, the Bergdahl story is more interesting than 90% of what the media covers, and I'd like to see some serious investigation of it. Something doesn't add up and has not yet been explained.

The media, politics..anything that can be used as a vehicle to divide and/or distract from pertinent social issues is fair game. But they wouldn't do it if it didn't repeatedly work.

I wouldn't say that's their only purpose, so much as one of their primary intended goals, in disseminating propaganda and selective reporting, ultimately in the service of their corporate banker & secret-society puppet masters and their respective agendas.

A handful of these faux-journalists / presstitutes being willfully complicit in furthering their given agendas, while the majority comprised of 'useful idiots' often oblivious to the fact that they have become subservient to the 'hidden hand' of the so-called 'elite'.
