How come everything related to govt spying vanishes from the front page in a few hours?

A few hours ago I clicked a link that talked about the TTP thing about censoring the internet. It had thousands of upvotes and a bunch of comments and was in the middle of the frontage. Now a few hours later I can't find it anywhere, this has happened multiple times with links of this nature. Anyone else notice this?

That's how reddit works. What gets to the frontpage is based on voting rates, not totals. Otherwise, you'd have one story on top for weeks.

Yeah, it's an algorithm that's the same for every post. As a post gets older it requires more upvotes to stay ranked higher than other stories. Also, the first votes weigh more than the later votes, so the first 10 weigh the same as the next 100, which weighs the same as the next 1000, etc.

Front page of what?

Of /r/all?

Of your subscribed subreddits?

Of a specific subreddit?

You need to be more specific if you want an actual answer to your question.

"He who controls the news, controls the world" Those small few who own news organizations control what we read and know.

If you only depend on reddit for your news you deserve to be controlled

If someone buys into all this site has to offer in the way of news, they might as well start believing what "The Onion" puts out as a news substitute.
