An interesting quote for you guys.

"Yes, there is a conspiracy, indeed there are a great number of conspiracies, all tripping each other up ... the main thing that I learned about conspiracy theories is that conspiracy theorists actually believe in the conspiracy because that is more comforting. The truth of the world is that it is chaotic. The truth is, that it is not the Jewish banking conspiracy, or the grey aliens, or the twelve-foot reptiloids from another dimension that are in control, the truth is far more frightening; no-one is in control, the world is rudderless." Alan Moore

I occasionally browse this subreddit, mostly out of morbid curiosity. You guys ever consider this? Alan Moore may be an angry wizard man, but I found this quote thought-provoking.

That quote has been posted here many times, frequently claimed as "proof" that conspiracies don't exist.

It's not proof at all, it is trying to speak to the mindset that it is far more comforting to believe that anyone is in control, despite their crimes, because if nobody is in control then that would be fucking terrifying.

Whoever controls the volume of currency in a country pretty much runs the show.

This doesn't have anything to do with my reply.

I was talking about how certain people have to believe someone is in control, despite their hatred of them. Because control is comforting, and reality is scary.

Someone IS in control of the volume of currency. That means that someone IS running the show.

Walk me though how the US mint started the war on terror.

The Federal Reserve has always made sure that there's plenty of money for war. It has since its inception in 1913.

How do you know the money was for war, and not economic advancement?

Inflation is a potent weapon, far easier and completely bloodless. Why would that not be a tool, why would we have to send men/tanks/bombs?

LOL you think the US mint is in control of the currency? They take their orders from the Federal reserve, which is absolutely not a FEDERAL anything. It is a private company owned by private individuals.

And their leaders are appointed by your elected politicians.

Not to mention the fact that the government could easily take control if they wanted to, but it is way smarter to avoid that, given the hyper inflation that any other country has experienced if they controlled their own currency.

Have you read up on this at all? I'm not very smart, at all, but I could find this with a google search.

Go watch any Ben Bernanke video ever.

Meh

Here's another quote:

"Gradually, in every country in the world, the government of the barons and the government of the Jewish banker effected an alliance that constituted up to the outbreak of the great war— and apparently still constitutes—the dual force that controls the destinies of nations and of individuals everywhere."

Jews in World Reconstruction

The American Hebrew and Jewish Messenger, Sept. 10, 1920

Conflating aliens and reptilians with a stated fact, which even Jewish publications 100 years ago announced, is the work of idiots.

International banking is primarily a Jewish operation. It's not a conspiracy. It's an out in the open fact.

Just because someone says it, does not make it a fact.

"Iraq is in possession of WMDS's" A la every government flunky under Bush Jr.

Come on, we're better then this. Quotes don't make reality.

It's a hell of a lot more authoritative than op's quote, based on the source alone.

True, just because someone says it doesn't make it a fact. So why don't you go look up who runs the largest banks in the country and world. Watch their interviews and listen to what they had to say to the public.

And you guys wonder why people accuse this sub of being anti-semitic. I know that people like americandreamsicle aren't the majority, but goddamn are they vocal in their hate for the Jews.

I'm a Jew, dipshit. An old school, anarchist shitstirring Jew.

I'm not afraid of the truth. Why should you be?

A jew who believes in anti-semitic conspiracies? You're not the first. There are a handful of anti-semitic Jews out there. I remember reading about a neo-Nazi cell in Israel, composed of young Jews. Or guys like Shlomo Sand, with his (repeatedly disproven) Khazar theory. Your ethnicity/religion doesn't make you immune to hate, nor does it exempt you from falling for persuasive lies.

I think you mean "self-hating Jew".

Get your terms straight, dumbass.

Eh, the term fits, but judging by your past comments and what I could guess on the type person you are, I highly doubt you hate yourself. Much the opposite in fact. So while you and your peddling of hateful medieval era conspiracies could justify me using the term 'self hating jew', I feel you are too narcissistic to merit the label.

Rather than make it about me, perhaps you should go back and brush up on your own history. You might get more out of it.

Nothing too bad there, what should I get out of it? I have a lame sense of humor, random interests, and get in arguments with antisemites far more often than I should. I'm not the guy who buys into racist conspiracies.

A trait of brainwashed livestock is to limit what they say for fear of offending someone.

SOMEONE in control is way scarier. Noone in control would make me feel better... As if wealthy families haven't taken total control yet over centuries..

Alan Moore is wrong. That's about all I can say about the quote. Western civilization is being steered deliberately in a specific direction. It's not random.

Spot on! Chaos can be scary but also quite comforting. Guess it depends on your personality.

Excellent quote.

In reference to the senseless high school style massacres the US is currently plagued with and the conspiracies which surround them.

It's just someone to blame, some way of making sense of it all. An attempt to try and turn the senseless tragedies into something more meaningful.

But I thought we determined those alleged "shootings" were fake.....

Believing something doesn't make it true.

Exactly!

Believing that 19 Saudi's armed only with box cutters and directed by a guy in a cave could have pulled of 9/11 doesn't make it true.

Believing a 140 lb. Adam Lanza could have carried 50 lbs. of weaponry and body armor and shot with 93% accuracy in a seven-minute time frame does not make it true.

Good call.

That's the cool thing, though, is that facts are real whether you believe them or not.

Who's we? Not me.

Whoever controls the volume of currency in a country pretty much runs the show.

Who's we? Not me.

Believing something doesn't make it true.
