Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

I was watching the third episode of Star Wars the other day when Padmé said, "What if the democracy we thought we were serving no longer exists, and the Republic has become the very evil we've been fighting to destroy?" Hmmm, that sure does sound familiar.

And OP - ever wonder how separatists and rebel are used interchangeably there? Who do you think they were really referring to?

“A Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defense, never for attack.”
“Fear is the path to the dark side…fear leads to anger…anger leads to hate…hate leads to suffering.”

The political statement, at the time, was made in the context of the Iraq war and post 911 culture.

Yoda should have been a conspiracy theorist, he would have caught on to Palpatine's bullshit way before the final act xD

He was already a conspirator. He hid Luke and Leia, no?

George Lucas will be proud, that somewhere out there, one person approves of one line of his script and cunningly injected social commentary.

Democracy can NOT work in a dumbed down society. Nor does a Republic work when the system of Representatives are bought and paid long before any elections. Hate to break it to you but these are well known failed systems that failed in Greece and Rome and will fail here too, it already has.
