If the American Colonies had lost the revolution, we'd all have learned in our history books that George Washington and his ilk were all terrorists who tried to destroy our great home, the British Empire, but were defeated.

What else are we taught that is an outright distortion?

History is written by the victors. Off the top of my head:

The American Civil War was fought over slavery. Abraham Lincoln wanted to free the slaves.

The Federal Reserve Act was created and approved by Congress.

The USA won the Vietnam War and Iraq conflicts/operations.

Iraq had WMD's. Syria has chemical weapons.

The USA won the Vietnam War

I think it's known that we lost that.

How much time ya got, buddy?

you still think the Empire was defeated?

THANK YOU! "Oh no, the small mass of people thousands of miles away has defeated us, conquerors of lands historically thousands of miles away! Heavens nooo!"

The english just did what they did with every other country. Let themselves be "ousted" so they didn't have to cover the cost of direct leadership, and just gave kickbacks to the peoples' "chosen" folks-of-power. Like... your face, their voice, sort of approach. The US does the same thing, because... y'know... democracy?

It was actually France who won that war for the Americans, which they were fighting against us English.

Because... you know... royalty wasn't an incestuous clique or anything all playing their collective hands against their populaces, even though it seemed like they were fighting each other. Like the banks are pitting the peoples' of dictators on good terms (with each other) against each other (people vs people).

incestuous clique

They're an "incestuous clique" to deter the possibility of war. Sadly, it's not a particular effective strategy.

If they had lost we wouldn't know who they were at all.

Most of history is most likely altered to fit an agenda. At least the versions of history fed to society.

Well... they were.

Care to elaborate?
