Meet The Patriot Act 2.0

S.754 - Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015
The U.S. government is on the verge of passing a surveillance bill that some are calling the Patriot Act 2.0.
The Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act, aka CISA, will double down on all the bulk data the government has already been collecting on you.
Plus now it'll allow businesses to share your personal info with the government and with each other – if they deem what you're doing a threat.
But we all know that's open to interpretation.

Thus begins the transition from oligarchy to fascism.

Can we please stop abusing the term 'Fascism'? I bet absolutely none of you have read Mussolini's 'The Doctrine of Fascism'
It's not an evil political ideology. Seriously.

You may not think so, but any ideology that rejects the individual in favor of the state is fucked, imo, and probably the opinion of most in this sub.

OK, fair enough. I think we're a long way from having a (single, long-term) dictator and that seems to be part of the definition of fascism.
If Oligarchy is government of the people by the wealthy, which the USA is now, then what is the correct term for government of the people by industry, which the USA seems to be heading toward?
I'm willing to start using that term, if only I knew what it was.

Fascism is, in fact, closer to National Syndicalism than it is to Corporatism. The difference being that Fascism theoretically recognizes the right for workers' unions, albeit centrally planned unionization. Corporatism is closer to the definition of U.S. authoritarianism that we're looking for--with corporations choosing to veil themselves in the trappings of democracy--though it's not quite right. What we must begin to understand is that, through the guise of our government, corporations are building a private Police Army with access to unimaginable surveillance algorithms. Soon the transfer of this army from "government" hands into the hands of the corporate elite will be complete. I believe the concept of Corporate Feudalism is a good approximation of where we are headed.

Or Anarcho Capitalism as the final state of handing over control to private corps.

anarcho capitalism
corporations which are a state fiction to shield individuals from liability in control of everything
Choose one.

Saw this video originally and it really opened my eyes. Then I read the book...and god damn did that really awake me to the imperialist nature of this (and other) countries. The book, and The Secret History of the American Empire are must reads.

What do you think about Naomi Wolf's ten steps to fascism? She seems to put forth a pretty convincing argument.

These people are not going to stop.
Stay up everyone, and remember to take care of yourself first.

We need to add a line in there that give us the power to monitor the government and businesses if we deem them a threat!

A combo of marketing and surveillance. Interesting take on cybersecurity. It seems the fascists are actually thinking ahead on this bill.

I just don't get how people are so asleep sometimes.. And it's more demoralizing because it almost seems as if its a lost cause to try and awaken the masses. Aside from being called crazy, they may even try to defend the gov't. It's like people have Stockholm syndrome for their
gov'toppressors. Where are the riots? Where are the coups? Where is the repressed anger? Where are the people who want to fight for their liberty and civil, as well as human, rights?? All the real leaders have been killed, silenced, or shamed. And all the regular people who have a say about things like this are called crazy. This is it guys. This is end game. Protect yourselves guys. Protect yourselves from the ones who have sworn to protect you.1 Puupsfred 2015-05-07
