It is truly ridiculous that they think 7 billion plus people have all been fooled. I think it stems from an ignorance of the basic structure of the universe and an inability to objectively observe the reality around us.
A technologically mature "posthuman" civilization would have enormous computing power. Based on this empirical fact, the simulation argument shows that at least one of the following propositions is true:
(1) The fraction of human-level civilizations that reach a posthuman stage is very close to zero;
(2) The fraction of posthuman civilizations that are interested in running ancestor-simulations is very close to zero;
(3) The fraction of all people with our kind of experiences that are living in a simulation is very close to one.
If (1) is true, then we will almost certainly go extinct before reaching posthumanity.
If (2) is true, then there must be a strong convergence among the courses of advanced civilizations so that virtually none contains any relatively wealthy individuals who desire to run ancestor-simulations and are free to do so.
If (3) is true, then we almost certainly live in a simulation. In the dark forest of our current ignorance, it seems sensible to apportion one’s credence roughly evenly between (1), (2), and (3).
Ha ha no it doesn't. Please actually try to understand quantum mechanics. If you do please explain why you think so, I would love to talk to someone who actually does understand it.
The observer effect has nothing to do with consciousness. The cool thing about quantum mechanics is not that it is affected by anything trying to measure it thus changing the system due to the measurement itself rendering all attempts at a full precise measurement obsolete (the observer effect that you speak of), but the wave function collapse itself.
The whole thing about it is that the math makes sense but what it means no one can agree on it. That's why there's differing interpretations, some of which imply that the universe is not intrinsically deterministic (which I think is bullshit) while others just think we don't have all the information yet. I think
What causes the wave function collapse; what makes the superposition of a particle turn into a singular position and more importantly how does the particle "choose" a position?
How does this wave function? How can photons sent one by one create a wave pattern? And how would "knocking it out of the wave" work one it's being shot one by one, and why would this create a particle pattern?
If you had an article or video to explain this alternative theory that would be great because what you're saying doesn't make any sense.
You were hypnotised by the supposed "diving instructors". When you thought you were falling through the sky from a plane what you were actually doing was drifting around the parking lot on a trolley.

Took the words right out of my mouth. I've rid debating with them, but they don't want to discuss. Only push their agenda, whatever they may be.

I absolutely destroyed one a believer in discussion awhile ago and he now avoids my comments. Pretty good knowing they're not serious.

So, no answers, just a circle jerk of dv... thanks, knew I could count on ya guys.

Have any of these dolts ever been in an airplane at altitude? You can see the curve of the earth for fuck sake.

Have you every had a good look outside an airplane while it's flying? How do you know it's not just a movie being projected on the "windows"?

How do you know everything isn't just a hologram? How do you anything other than you even exists? What if you're a brain in a vat? Cogito ergo sum m8

Unless we are now living in a simulation, our descendants will almost certainly never run an ancestor-simulation.

Dude one can't be sure of anything. Read up on the philosophical concept of cogito ergo sum.

Quantum physics suggests that the universe needs an observer in order to exist, so the true nature of reality is transitory.

The wave/particle duality is just something scientists made up to use justify their use of research grant money.
0 xaali 2015-06-03
Then how do you explain the double slit experiment?
2 Taylorswiftfan69 2015-06-03
Light is a wave of particles. When this wave is observed the photons from our eyes bounce off the wave and knock it out of the wave.

Right. Hold on, I will get right back to my thoughts on that, Santa Clause is at my door...

You still haven't disproved that the world isn't flat.
0 ZeroChef 2015-06-03
Lulz. You make me giggle. Thanks for that. Can you explain to me the curvature of the earth as I was skydiving then?

You know what. I can't even hate. Thats amazing. You sir, or ma'am, are legitimately one of the funniest troll-like folk I have ever come across.
Keep on keepin on.

Thanks for coming here, it makes all you FLAT EARTH DISINFO agents easier to RES tag :)

If the Earth was flat that might be an interesting question... But it's not so it isn't.
0 digdog303 2015-06-03
Damn son, flat earth AND almost a jada meme. 7.5/10
