That would be a good experiment, aside from the distasteful act of upvoting anything on that sub. I suppose it could be a meta post about how the sub sucks though...
Still, there has to be something more than just popularity that got FPH banned; look at this sub: it is banned from r/all, but they still allow it to operate.
Edit: r/conspiracy is not banned from r/all, I must have just heard a bs rumor and believed it.
If you'd rather not upvote something distasteful you can show you disapproval by
Blocking ads and not buying gold!
If you use AdBlock and still see ads on reddit you make have to go to: Adblock options > "Filter lists" > uncheck "Allow some non-intrusive advertising" http://i.imgur.com/fmCirkH.png
Redditors angry that only certain subs are banned unite and upvote every vile and disgusting sub that was somehow over looked
The next story will be how reddit only removes subs like that when it's convenient for PR. Then they dig up all of Chairman Pao's baggage all over again.
I guess I should take that as the truth as it's coming from a hamplanet neckbearded conspiritard. You would be the expert on that of course. I bow to your experience.
"Right, well one of the greatest actors of the last century just died and the president just authorised more troops to go to Iraq but if you want to do a blog I guess go for it"
On the contrary. Get the general public outraged over the idea of people hating fat people (the protestors will be seen as the bad guys, they always are) as a distraction from Iraq.
If the general public are anything like Reddit right now the scary powers that be don't need to distract people from important things because they can do that themselves.
Man, ill do r/snapped or r/gore or even r/watchpeopledie if I wanna remind myself to watch out for final destination type shit but. I honestly cant stomach something like r/beatingwomen fucking fuck the fucking fuckers. I had to break out the sentence enhancers.
Is that so? Honestly I should feel good about this but now that its happened I feel as if free speech is once again an issue and will bleed to other subs. Thanks for the update tho.
I for one believe in the people claiming money is the driving force, and because fatpeoplehate was the only subreddit that was offensive to some people and making to r/all consistently, they took out all offensive material by banning one subreddit (and its copies)
I get that you are being sarcastic (because nobody would seriously use 'sheep' like that), but some people might not so you should add a /s to your comment.
Yeah, so lets shove all the other nasty subs out in the sunlight also. Pao will have no choice but to ban them as well and we can all watch Reddit circle the drain. Or, she backs down. But I doubt that.
I was in the wrong, but I don't think it was an entirely unrealistic rumor. In fact the rumor may have been true but I was misunderstanding what they were trying to say.
Honestly we should be using SRS as the example. It does everything that Reddit claimed FPH did, vote brigading, harassment, doxxing, etc yet because it is agreeable with the admins it gets to stay.
What worries me about the banning of FPH is that all the subs that are comparable will be banned just so that people don't bitch about hypocrisy. It is quite the "slippery slope."
Here's my personal theory that is totally baseless and speculative. Earlier today imgur blocked and removed images from FPH. I think imgur told reddit that if they don't remove the subreddit they would completely block out image hosting from the entire site. Just a thought. Who knows if it is true.
The thing is, and I get that yeah that's a shitty sub, but surely for all those who support fph and don't think it should be banned, why bring down another sub just because you don't agree with that one? It's to some extent shitting on your own doorstep because you can't suggest one aub get banned for something you don't agree with yet expect a sub that others don't agree with yet you do to stay up? Fuck me you wouldn't think english is my first language. I'm tired.
Yea, but at least I recognized my error. I just assumed it was true because I never saw the sub on r/all even though there are some extremely popular posts. I think it would be safer to say that they remove r/conspiracy posts from r/all pretty quickly, if there is indeed any truth to the rumor.
Also, this is a common occurrence on any sub, not just r/conspiracy. Confirmation bias is real, there's no point in trying to pretend that anyone is immune.
I explained what happened in that CMV thread. The short and sweet is the mods supported a witch hunt and had said information posted in the subreddit sidebar.
While not required, you are requested to use the NP domain of reddit when crossposting. This helps to protect both your account, and the accounts of other users, from administrative shadowbans. The NP domain can be accessed by prefacing your reddit link with np.reddit.com.

lmao yeah what a great idea, start a vote brigade. It's not like it's one of the biggest rules site wide, that gets people and entire subreddits banned all the bloody time. How fucken dumb are you mate?
The original was banned, but its replacement has been up for years. There are subs for murdering children, and subs for cute corpses, necrophilia, and bestiality. There are subs for illegal drug use. There are subs for racism, like /r/CoonTown. These subs have thousands of subscribers.
Literally, the only thing the admins are taking action against is people making fun of outrageously fat individuals who advertise their lifestyle as being healthy and acceptable--within a particular subreddit dedicated to the purpose, easily avoided by those people who can't control their own sense of personal offense.
Edit: I was mistaken. /r/beatingwomen2 has been up for one year, not "years."
Edit:/r/ObesePersonDislike already banned. Stop telling our children that they're meant to be literal pigs!
I... liked /r/fph, to be honest. It seemed like a safe space for people to air their frustrations about the fat logic and bullshit they have to see and put up with all the time. I get it. It's a like minded community no one was forced to go to.
Apparently/allegedly, they were banned because the mods were actively encouraging doxxing/actually doxxing Imgur employees.
But 150k members are punished for shitty mods? I don't fully get that. Why not ban those involved and put in new temp mods or something?
Daily visitor and they would delete posts immediately for forgetting to remove usernames, even your own. We should have archived the entire sub like KiA has done.
Seriously, I've been browsing the sub daily for months. I haven't seen anything that promotes doxxing, brigading or such. Shit, most people in the sub made fun of all the SJWs and fat people because they doxxed people.
Been seeing this bullshit that the mods posted the Imgur staff's personal info in the sidebar to attack them. FPH has always had pictures of people who are relevant to the sub, but nothing that promotes or even condones doxxing or harassing.
I was a lurker for a long time before FPH was banned and if you were brigading the mods threw the ban hammer down so fast you wondered if they had a job. They are almost supernatural on finding things that were against the rules....wish I had started posting so I could have got verified.
They were. That's why the banning is ridiculous - I know because I was there when it started.
At first, yeah, it was a bit unregulated. When it showed to be a problem, the mods were quick and strict as fuck to delete posts which had identifying information or encouraged brigading (names, faces, usernames, locations, subreddit names).
There was no "organized harassment". Anything that did happen was the result of one or two people going outside of what the sub itself permitted, not acting on behalf of the sub. People often complained that in 'outer reddit' there would be posts like "found the fatty" and such, but what those people fail to realize is that those posts weren't a coordinated attack, but real people expressing their opinions.
The whole Imgur thing was bullshit because the pictures were public - the Pao leadership only cared because Imgur & Reddit are BFFs. That's the only reason why it happened - images sucked on here before Imgur. Reddit's community is only pissed because they're fat themselves and this fiasco interrupts their daily browsing.
In reality, FPH was probably one of the most brigaded subreddits. I can't count the number of times I've seen edits about how people were suddenly being downvoted to oblivion.
doxxing is such bullshit. #1 - it's the new rape scream for the internet. #2 - even if the mods were doing it (which i highly doubt), they weren't doing it in the name of the sub. There was no thread made about it. I was on there all of the time because it was hilarious and not a single time did i see any hint of doxxing.
edit: turns out that all they did was take pics of imgur staff off of imgur.com and put them in the sidebar of FPH. HARDLY doxxing, but we all know how these drama queens operate.
It wasn't even "doxxing". They made the side bar image a picture of all the imgur mods. This was after imgur decided it didn't want fph posts going to their front page any more and started deleted all the fph images they could find.
The picture was just taken off the internet. It was published by imgur. It had no personal info.
if doxxing was the problem, the sub would of been banned much earlier
but the key thing is they were getting peoples image to /r/all seen by millions a day
and being made fun of for the world to see.
Safe space or not, this is going to bring in major legal problems for reddit
There is nothing illegal about someone posting a picture in a subreddit. That picture was added to the Internet by the imgur staff. It's not like it was from a hacked device or anything.
People can sue for slander and defamination.
and it isnt a health business relationship to allow your sister business worker be made fun of on a sub.
a sub known for brigading and possibly causing legal problems
It was a photo posted by imgur without any modification to the people in it. If that's against the rules you better ban half of Reddit.
Also it's not slander, defamation, or libel if true. That dog is fat.
They do not brigade. They had some of the strictest rules on reddit about it. Any link to reddit was automatically deleted by bots including links to np.reddit. Any personal information would get it deleted immediately including our own details.
Lol you really are delusional. They brigaded 3 times in the last 3 months.
Making fun of people is defamation. And is why that shitty ass sub and it's shitty ass users were removed
I don't need to source anything this isn't a thesis paper.
If you can't tell being made fun of in front of millions isn't cyber bullying no source will save you from your ignorance
You're the one saying that it is defamation to say mean but true things without anything to back you up. Of course I will believe such a thing with any evidence...
According to [this dictionary](dictionary.law.com/default.aspx?selected=458), defamation is "the act of making untrue statements about another." Calling someone fat who is fat is not making an untrue statement.
"Ban evasion" is the technical term, because obviously all those new subs were made by former FPH mods and not anyone that's just pissed at the admins' hissyfit.
I don't know why you say obviously. I would assume at least a few of those new subreddits were made by users that wanted to post but weren't mods of fph. That subreddit had thousands of subscribers, I'm sure some of them wanted to continue to have a place of their own, not just the mods.
Yeah im in agreement. If the mods were the issues, ban the moderators. There is no way to prevent users and subscribers from engaging in bad behaviors.
You seem to think "brigading" means "sharing your opinions in discussions on other subs". There was never an influx of a great number of FPH'rs storming into a sub they never visit to downvote and troll and flame everyone.
There were times when, in the wild, fellow shitlords got into discussions about HAES/etc. with the flow of the conversation. If two people on a post in /r/pics talk about pokemon, that doesn't mean /r/gaming is brigading.
Nope. Sure isn't. In my opinion this is an act of hatred. If you were to blame all Germans for the holocaust or all Mexicans for the drug war, it'd be the exact same as blaming everyone in that sub for harassing or doxxing although it's not as severe as the other claims. I think they were mad they were making fun of fat people in general. The only way I could possibly think of where there is proof that they truly went out their way to harass people was when they found pictures of Imgur admins and showed them, that would hurt me if someone found a picture of me and started bashing it. Even so, only the person who did it should have action taken against them.
Are we forgetting the celebration of death of fat people in that sub? The open hatred of a recently married couple because one was overweight? What about the /r/suicidewatch brigade by members of FPH actively telling a person to end their life?
there was celebration of the death of fat activists, who died of complications due to obesity (can't look it up now that FPH is banned), the sub revolved more around the hatred for fat activists and the healthy at every size movement, the death of a leader of these movements was welcomed. They did not hunt down and abuse or harass people, any actions like this meant bans and posts being taken down. There was a time of brigading from both sides between fph and another sub (sorry I have forgotten the sub) a few months ago, which resulted in widespread bans. As for the /r/suicidewatch brigading, I have not heard of that, it didn't make it into the top posts of fph and I would need a link to believe that any brigading occurred.
People are more concerned with the change in freedom of expression and the inconsistency in bans when considering other questionable subs
This needs to be on the front page. All those fat fucks and SJW giving each other high fives and donuts, NEEDS to see this shit...and realize what fucking Fat hypercritical shit heads they are. They say they want to get rid of the hate on reddit, yet they only go for the shit that hurts their feels in the lard.
lol btw, this reddit drama stuff is actually fun. I've never been so interested in reddit.
That's the point. They're not banning ideas or ideologies. Enjoying watching people die, and looking at dead kids is bad, but they won't ban you for it. They didn't ban FPH because of their ideologies, but because the users were banding together to harass and bully people. That's what got them banned.
We could make an anti-america subreddit and not get banned, but as soon as we start planning terrorist attacks, you can't be like "muh freedom of speech"
They weren't though... Putting a picture of the imgur staff in the sidebar with no personal information as a joke isn't brigading or such. If using a public image as a joke is against the rules half the content on reddit is against the Ike's...
I'm just loving the irony in crying censorship. FPH systematically banned anyone who they deemed even the remotest bit sympathetic toward fat people, and one of their subreddit's rules was literally "No dissent". And they could justify that because hey it's our community and we have discretion over what kind of content we want on here. Now reddit has turned it around on them, because it's their community and they have discretion over what kind of content they want on here, and now it's "BUT MY FREE SPEECH."
Well you don't have to agree with it, and I definitely don't, and that's not even the worst sub. There are far, FAR worse subs out there, but it's freedom of speech, you can say what you want and (usually) not get punished. When you harass other people however then it becomes a problem. So as long as people in that subreddit dont promote/harrass women and say theyre gonna beat them or whatever, they are doing nothing illegal and can carry on. The issue with FPH was that it was like a center for harassing and promoting harrassment, and it was getting out of hand.
What no, you could say what you want. If it was "fat acceptance" youd get downvoted to hell, but what do you expect it is a subreddit about hating fat people.
Not true at all. If you said anything less than "All butter golems must die" you would get banned and FPH was proud of that. Their number one rule was "No dissenting". FPH was against free speech.
Oh yeah that's right actually. I remember I went there once and saw this post and said "that's a bit too far" and got a threat to get banned. This makes it all 10x funnier, down with those fucked up twats!
so exactly what members of that sub did. That being said, nothing of value was lost, but I think other subs would/should be higher on the list of shit that should be deleted.
Yeah and those subs don't go out and brigade like the banned ones did. Thats why they are still there. Free speech is fine until you start attacking someone.
If the hate subreddits want to hate in the hate subreddits and don't harras others, I think they should stay. Of course, exceptions exist, but if others aren't directly harmed, I don't see much that is wrong.
Half joke half real I studied the main people there quite extensively for a few months talked to some gained their trust (on an alt account tho so I could make a convincing background) some like /u/bardsdirge just kinda do shit like that as part of their normal life some hate women others think its funny. It's pretty complicated.
Bard look you and me go way back (about a year so not wayyyy but a bit) but the cards are on the table here you are probably going down in flames soon if this whole media thing happens so I want to say this now.
Fuck you, you cunt.
Anyway now that thats over hopefully you and your gang of 14 yearolds, mentally disabled people, extreme power fantasists and misogynists will come to voat or wherever.
show some backbone. i'm an admitted rapist. this is your chance to show the world what kind of influence you can have. it's the SJW dream. don't let it pass you by! what the fuck are you doing dropping my /u/ trying to initiate this little game of fucking tiddlywinks? call the FBI and tell them i refuse to rape fatties or something.
...hope i don't have to make a new reddit account...
please if I ever want to get A job in IT (and I do) getting caught would mean I could never get a job in the field its not a risk im willing to take for someone as worthless and meaningless as you.
I believe the justification is that fph spilled over from it's subreddit this is what broke the rules and why the other obviously worse subreddit can stay. But I got my info from /r/outoftheloop
If the Reddit admins are willing to fuck over its userbase to get their hands on that sweet, sweet advertising revenue, well here's what we can do.
Let's go after the Reddit sponsors. Harass the shit out of them. Make sure it becomes common knowledge that to advertise on this site is to get your name tainted in a newer ending series of memes and abuse.
If the admins thought that their draconian censorship would make this site more packageable to the corporate sponsors, let's make them think again. If it worked for FIFA, it sure as fuck will have an impact on our Glorious Leader.
So shall we get this party started? Post the names and contacts of some of Reddit's existing advertisers, and let the games begin!
It's quite simple. Write to the advertisers, call them out on social media. Make it quite plain to them that most users believe this site went down the drain because the admins tried to scrub the site to woo people like them. Make them take their money elsewhere.
The admins didn't seem to care when the FIFA sponsors were being harassed. Quite rightly too. Corporations are not people. If they don't want the harassment or negative publicity, dissociate from this site and take their money elsewhere. Win-win for all. Except for our Glorious Leader that is.
Meh, easier to just upvote all the other vile garbage that reddit hosts to the front page for a few days and let their advertisers see it in all it's glory. Problem solves itself.
Or we could just get everyone to use AdBlock, no ad revenue for them, reddit team realizes reddit isn't a good place to advertise, fucks off back to legoland.
Right now /r/punchablefaces is the best one they could ban. It would probably destroy reddit as we know it. I've got my fingers crossed because that would be hilarious.
As a 310lb guy, I don't even get why they banned fph. If you don't like it, don't go on it. I had a look at it once, and there were people complaining about fat people "trying to exercise", so I knew it was just a circlejerk sub and never looked at it again, didn't even give a shit it existed.
That is the opprotiate response to pretty much anything offensive on the internet. Instead of policing the internet, people should learn not to be offended.
The admins allow all of the meta subs to brigade at will and target individual redditors, sans any repercussions, if they reflect well upon the site or are in lockstep with the admins' political opinions.
Then they ban other subs, who just so happen to go against the admins' political opinions, for vague reasons that when applied to the whole site equally, ought to result in the ban of nearly every single meta sub.
Then the admins wonder why so many people don't give any fucks about violating the rules.
Newsflash admins, if you clearly don't give a fuck about certain golden subs blatantly violating the rules, why should the rest of us give a flying fuck about violating the rules?
Genuinely curious. What other avenues are there? Business networks? Political standing? Is there anything that a person can do besides voice their opinion at this point?
Honestly, the best solution is to leave. If you wanna do that, I'm gonna try out voat.co tomorrow; If you don't wanna leave, get an ad blocker and cut their revenue.
No, but all of reddit complaining about this is just as good as, if not better than signing a petition. If their user base plasters disapproval all over their own site, they'll get the point.
nigga this aint tumblr. I believe the next best thing we can do besides barging into Reddit HQ is be a constant nuisance to Reddit admins but hey I'm just a kid who gives a fuck what I think
This whole thing is retarded. Oh no, feefees were hurt! But beating women? Fucking dogs? That's cool!! Fuck that. Either everything is okay or nothing is.
The original reasoning for removal was because allegedly users began 'harassing' other people both online and offline. This was the reason for removal. How were the other subs, which were just created, violating any rules? Were they targeting users? This is just removing subreddits they think are distasteful. Good luck trying to clean up the mess when users can just create any subreddits they want.
I'm not about censorship, but I don't feel like those kind of subs have a place in society, much less on reddit. I don't like the principle of the bans, but I like the consequences.
ITT: Let's remove subreddits where people supposedly harassed people online and offline, but let's keep subreddits where people are actually being beaten. What a sick twisted way of thinking.
Fat fucks have poor impulse control and are easily susceptible to ads. It is imperative that Reddit caters to this demographic for they sit on their lazy asses at the computer anytime they're not at work and therefore make up a large portion of the advertising base. If subreddits like /r/fatpeoplehate are allowed to hurt their fee fees by suggesting they get up and move they might not buy as much shit they see advertised on the Interwebs.
This is why this rule is fucking stupid. It's not going to stop anything. You can't ban everything, they just keep making more. Reddit accounts take thirty seconds to make and subreddits take another forty-five to copy paste in the CSS and be carbon copies.
This rule will change nothing. All it's going to do is make these places bigger via the Streisand Effect. It's not stopping a damn thing. It's going to be repealed within a week, and you can quote me on that.
ATTN mods of /r/fatpeoplehate: Rally the shitlords! Direct us all to a separate website where we can get the latest subreddit name us shitlords want to congregate under with the same coding that FPH used, and keep creating a new one each time Chairman Pao finds it. Those who know what the sub name is, spread it so we can all know
Give it time. When the mainstream media gets ahold of this, the fat haters will be in a totally indefensible place. You really think when the ladies on "The View" or "The Talk" or whatever...or the morning shows on news channels....shows that reach millions...and talk about what /r/fatpeoplehate used to do that they're going to be sympathetic to them?
And then it will come out that Reddit has subreddits like /r/beatingwomen2 or /r/coontown. Then more of a shitstorm and grandmas will be calling for their shutdown also. You guys don't really have a moral leg to stand on....at least not against the mainstream media.
But then again, you are all a relatively small group of people. These threads are only getting like 3000 or so upvotes, which is kind of minor. So the mainstream media may just go "meh".
Dying? I wish they would. I don't assume the world exists to please me. I'm not throwing a paddy making it everybody's issue on reddit. I'm not a condescending twat like you either.
But... Again these bans happened because the users on those subreddits were actively harassing other redditors, and not because of the offensive content in that sub... Right???
Seriously, how do so many people not get this? FPH harassed people outside of their sub. Therefore banned. All subsequent FPH subs were attempts to get around the ban, also against the rules.
Those other hate subs are terrible, but they keep to themselves. So they aren't breaking rules and are allowed to stay.
I try not to use the "R" word as an insult but... What the hell kind of conspiracy are you suggesting? That the terrible overlord Chairman Pao won't allow bullying fat people but she's totally ok with beating women? Seriously?
Only they didn't. The supposed harassment of Imgur was simple a picture- not a single name or any sort of information. That can be easily found on Imgur itself. If posting a picture with no identifying information is harassment, every sub on Reddit should be banned.
They also banned subs that were related but literally didn't do a thing- including ones that had been around for a while. They even banned one that because it had "whale" in it's name- it was literally about whale watching. In the ocean. Real whales. So if they got banned for harassment....why ban other subs who share the same ideas or even sound like it?
FPH never doxxed anyone, and if anyone even mentioned it, they were banned by the Mods immediately. All 150k people who were subscribed there and the thousands of lurkers know that for a fact, which is why they are pissed. Anyone who doxxed and harassed them didn't get banned.
Nobody ever mentioned doxxing as a reason for the bans. Just harassment and then subsequent subs that were obvious attempts to skirt the FPH ban.
And the harassment was widespread long before any of the imgur stuff. They were constantly going into other subs and shitting them up. Then there was the time a person posted that they were fat and suicidal, so they all encouraged him to kill himself.
Just because it's the Internet doesn't mean it's cool to go around acting like an asshole to people. If they just stayed in their own playground like coontown or beatingwomen nobody would give a shit.
Maybe because everyone I'm all those other fph subs openly admitted and band together to down vote every non fph post and break the site. Are you guys fucking retarded over here?
Listen up guys. Mocking our Chairman or making fat post hit the front page is fun while the lulz last, but we need to think of something more long lasting. And effective. How about we go after the Reddit sponsors?
If the Reddit admins are willing to fuck over its userbase to get their hands on that sweet, sweet advertising revenue, well here's what we can do.
Let's go after the Reddit sponsors. Write to them, call them out on social media. Make them know of the unhappiness and anger here.
You guys really still don't understand why /r/fatpeoplehate was banned? Please do some reading and educate yourself. Posting it here makes us all look bad.
I don't understand why everyone is throwing a fit for not being able to be so cruel to people, who even share reddit with you. Grow up? You're the ones fucking up reddit. Be hateful elsewhere.
Fuck FPH. I'm glad their shitsub was banned. Rejoice that the hateful scum got their fee fee's hurt and are going to a different site. Hope that shit gets banned too.
I think Reddit would be a lot better if it didn't have HATEful sub-Reddit. How is that different than bulling in real life. I got banned from /r/fatpeoplehate for defending a girl in a picture that was being picked on. Some of the comments were just so mean and hateful. It doesn't matter what that person is like one on one. The comments were just mean and abusive.
UPDATE: I don't care if i am getting down voted for this post. It just proves my point.
The admins really need to get these stupid posts off here... this sub is being brigaded by all the FPH idiots trying to seek asylum in other subreddits while continuing to spam their bullshit
no way we need legit subs to get banned because FPH raided them all
The people in fat people hate were routinely grabbing pics from tumblr, encouraging each other to send harassing messages to those people. There are lots of fucked up subreddits here but when you start to impact someones life directly using the thousands of subscribers in your subreddit as a mob then the subreddit becomes a platform for harassment. It has nothing to do with free speech.
lol you're either a bald-faced liar or insanely naive, just look at this comment section alone, and the "found the fatty" comments ad-nauseum, there is absolutely an organized effort to harass people outside of their sub
Yeah dude, and atheists don't harass church goers outside of their little "atheist land". Feminists dont harass people outside of their paradise to I take it? How about misogynists? All subreddits take their fucking opinions outside of their hivemind subreddit... You are literally targeting one group when every fucking group does it.. Are YOU that naive?
But I did. I was not a member, it was not a subreddit for my tastes but it would prop up on the front page a lot recently and I saw that kind of behavior. In those threads when someone outside fatpeoplehate came to know of this subreddit and tried to fuck with its members. People were very prone to stuff like that in those threads.
Uhm. I dont think you understand the concept of incorrect. I saw them. I know. Its not a matter of correctness at that point. There is no incorrect way to see something and then realize what you are seeing actually exists.
I don't know if you trying to be arrogant or what, but if a username was displayed or any kind of "brigading" language used, the post would be deleted. Sure there are some bad apples but it was completely against the rules and swift justice would be dealt upon the abuser.
I am not trying to be arrogant. If I said I saw something and someone tells me I am 'incorrect'. What does that even mean. I believe you when you say it was against the rules. But it still happened. Many times. There was a girl there, that maybe was the catalyst for all this, because it was very recent, who posted a video calling the subreddit out and people found out her tumblr page. It was not pretty. I am not saying it was right to ban it, though I do understand the urge. My original message simply said that it was not a matter of free speech. That is not why they were banned.
True. I am guessing it happened more here than normal. Or maybe the instances that happened here attracted more attention than others and reddit had to act.
Am glad am not the only one. Don't worry though, this will die down in a day. Couch activists usually do not have much perseverance. And when it does, good riddance. I was getting very pissed off, it seems like they hijacked reddit for a day.
doxxing is such bullshit. #1 - it's the new rape scream for the internet. #2 - even if the mods were doing it (which i highly doubt), they weren't doing it in the name of the sub. There was no thread made about it. I was on there all of the time because it was hilarious and not a single time did i see any hint of doxxing.

Yeah im in agreement. If the mods were the issues, ban the moderators. There is no way to prevent users and subscribers from engaging in bad behaviors.

116 thefifthpresident 2015-06-11
If you'd rather not upvote something distasteful you can show you disapproval by
Blocking ads and not buying gold!
If you use AdBlock and still see ads on reddit you make have to go to: Adblock options > "Filter lists" > uncheck "Allow some non-intrusive advertising" http://i.imgur.com/fmCirkH.png

Fuck that. I want to see this banner on CNN:
The next story will be how reddit only removes subs like that when it's convenient for PR. Then they dig up all of Chairman Pao's baggage all over again.
35 droidworkerbee 2015-06-11
You realise that would never happen because most people would just look at it and say "reddit? what's a 'sub'?"
This is not nearly as big a deal outside of reddit as you think it is, Skippy.
-6 3seashellsIknowHow 2015-06-11
I guess I should take that as the truth as it's coming from a hamplanet neckbearded conspiritard. You would be the expert on that of course. I bow to your experience.
21 tdrules 2015-06-11
gawd damn son you need to get that cognitive bias of yours checked.
CNN doesn't care about your dumb scandal, just like Gamergate, just like /r/Atheism being banned.
enjoy your echo chamber lol.
5 notpahimar 2015-06-11
"Reddit self-destructs" is probably newsworthy, though.
11 tdrules 2015-06-11
In Newsrooms across the land:
"But what did they self destruct over?"
"The right to post pictures of fat people"
"Right, well one of the greatest actors of the last century just died and the president just authorised more troops to go to Iraq but if you want to do a blog I guess go for it"
1 notpahimar 2015-06-11
On the contrary. Get the general public outraged over the idea of people hating fat people (the protestors will be seen as the bad guys, they always are) as a distraction from Iraq.
5 tdrules 2015-06-11
If the general public are anything like Reddit right now the scary powers that be don't need to distract people from important things because they can do that themselves.
-2 grumwala 2015-06-11

I for one believe in the people claiming money is the driving force, and because fatpeoplehate was the only subreddit that was offensive to some people and making to r/all consistently, they took out all offensive material by banning one subreddit (and its copies)
11 Vigrior 2015-06-11
It's all a money thing. Reddit wants sheep who generate revenue, not redpilled ablockers who love piracy.

6 3seashellsIknowHow 2015-06-11
Yeah, so lets shove all the other nasty subs out in the sunlight also. Pao will have no choice but to ban them as well and we can all watch Reddit circle the drain. Or, she backs down. But I doubt that.

1 macsenscam 2015-06-11
I was in the wrong, but I don't think it was an entirely unrealistic rumor. In fact the rumor may have been true but I was misunderstanding what they were trying to say.

2 iamatablet 2015-06-11
yeah its awful.
1 yelirbear 2015-06-11
makes sense its a disgusting sub ahhaha
9 stationhollow 2015-06-11
Honestly we should be using SRS as the example. It does everything that Reddit claimed FPH did, vote brigading, harassment, doxxing, etc yet because it is agreeable with the admins it gets to stay.
3 macsenscam 2015-06-11
What worries me about the banning of FPH is that all the subs that are comparable will be banned just so that people don't bitch about hypocrisy. It is quite the "slippery slope."
5 pyrateboy 2015-06-11
Here's my personal theory that is totally baseless and speculative. Earlier today imgur blocked and removed images from FPH. I think imgur told reddit that if they don't remove the subreddit they would completely block out image hosting from the entire site. Just a thought. Who knows if it is true.
3 jcoguy33 2015-06-11
Wouldn't that kill imgur since most of their traffic comes from reddit?
5 Moarbrains 2015-06-11
imgur can has it's own community and performs a useful service for free. They don't need reddit.
3 BreakingBombs 2015-06-11
Every time I see this sub it is on r/all?
2 sharkbastard 2015-06-11
The thing is, and I get that yeah that's a shitty sub, but surely for all those who support fph and don't think it should be banned, why bring down another sub just because you don't agree with that one? It's to some extent shitting on your own doorstep because you can't suggest one aub get banned for something you don't agree with yet expect a sub that others don't agree with yet you do to stay up? Fuck me you wouldn't think english is my first language. I'm tired.
5 macsenscam 2015-06-11
I'm thinking it would be to "prove" the point that the reddit admins only care about hateful subs when they start getting on the front page.
2 Adds_To_Circlejerk 2015-06-11
"I must have heard a bs rumor and believed it" /r/conspiracy in a nutshell
1 macsenscam 2015-06-11
Yea, but at least I recognized my error. I just assumed it was true because I never saw the sub on r/all even though there are some extremely popular posts. I think it would be safer to say that they remove r/conspiracy posts from r/all pretty quickly, if there is indeed any truth to the rumor.
Also, this is a common occurrence on any sub, not just r/conspiracy. Confirmation bias is real, there's no point in trying to pretend that anyone is immune.
0 TheRealKidBlue 2015-06-11

I explained what happened in that CMV thread. The short and sweet is the mods supported a witch hunt and had said information posted in the subreddit sidebar.

310 Don117 2015-06-11
Theres a fucking sub for beating women? What the fuck reddit? Dafuq?
417 Sanhael 2015-06-11
Edit: /r/ObesePersonDislike already banned. Stop telling our children that they're meant to be literal pigs!
197 ellimist 2015-06-11
I... liked /r/fph, to be honest.
190 KaribouLouDied 2015-06-11
Are you kidding? FPH was SUPER strict about brigading..
126 ziekktx 2015-06-11
Daily visitor and they would delete posts immediately for forgetting to remove usernames, even your own. We should have archived the entire sub like KiA has done.
53 nilleftw 2015-06-11
Seriously, I've been browsing the sub daily for months. I haven't seen anything that promotes doxxing, brigading or such. Shit, most people in the sub made fun of all the SJWs and fat people because they doxxed people.
Been seeing this bullshit that the mods posted the Imgur staff's personal info in the sidebar to attack them. FPH has always had pictures of people who are relevant to the sub, but nothing that promotes or even condones doxxing or harassing.
12 McBliz 2015-06-11
/r/KotakuinAction
23 Click_Norris 2015-06-11
I was a lurker for a long time before FPH was banned and if you were brigading the mods threw the ban hammer down so fast you wondered if they had a job. They are almost supernatural on finding things that were against the rules....wish I had started posting so I could have got verified.
5 Thachiefs4lyf 2015-06-11
I know we got fucked by the obese, why do they even get a say in how shits run if they can't run themselves
Edit: don't give me hold it's just helping that bitch
5 IDefyAxioms 2015-06-11
3 nickvansexhole 2015-06-11
In reality, FPH was probably one of the most brigaded subreddits. I can't count the number of times I've seen edits about how people were suddenly being downvoted to oblivion.
-7 I_AlsoDislikeThat 2015-06-11
And yet they did it constantly anyways.
2 KaribouLouDied 2015-06-11
Yah virtually all subs do it, but it's moderated as soon as possible.
49 FranktheShank1 2015-06-11
doxxing is such bullshit.
24 IsThatWhatSheSaidTho 2015-06-11
It wasn't even "doxxing". They made the side bar image a picture of all the imgur mods. This was after imgur decided it didn't want fph posts going to their front page any more and started deleted all the fph images they could find.
The picture was just taken off the internet. It was published by imgur. It had no personal info.

26 Soundwavetrue 2015-06-11
Imgur banned FPH links probably because of legal problems
FPH decide to make fun of the employees on the side bar
FPH get banned a day later.
Its rather simple
21 nilleftw 2015-06-11
And the important part is:
not:
-8 Soundwavetrue 2015-06-11
if doxxing was the problem, the sub would of been banned much earlier
but the key thing is they were getting peoples image to /r/all seen by millions a day
and being made fun of for the world to see.
Safe space or not, this is going to bring in major legal problems for reddit
8 stationhollow 2015-06-11
There is nothing illegal about someone posting a picture in a subreddit. That picture was added to the Internet by the imgur staff. It's not like it was from a hacked device or anything.
-2 Soundwavetrue 2015-06-11
People can sue for slander and defamination.
and it isnt a health business relationship to allow your sister business worker be made fun of on a sub.
a sub known for brigading and possibly causing legal problems
11 stationhollow 2015-06-11
It was a photo posted by imgur without any modification to the people in it. If that's against the rules you better ban half of Reddit.
Also it's not slander, defamation, or libel if true. That dog is fat.
They do not brigade. They had some of the strictest rules on reddit about it. Any link to reddit was automatically deleted by bots including links to np.reddit. Any personal information would get it deleted immediately including our own details.
-12 Soundwavetrue 2015-06-11
Lol you really are delusional. They brigaded 3 times in the last 3 months.
Making fun of people is defamation. And is why that shitty ass sub and it's shitty ass users were removed
4 stationhollow 2015-06-11
Making fun of people isn't defamation. Got a source saying saying true but hurtful things are defamation?
-1 Soundwavetrue 2015-06-11
I don't need to source anything this isn't a thesis paper.
If you can't tell being made fun of in front of millions isn't cyber bullying no source will save you from your ignorance
2 stationhollow 2015-06-11
You're the one saying that it is defamation to say mean but true things without anything to back you up. Of course I will believe such a thing with any evidence...
3 remlek 2015-06-11
According to [this dictionary](dictionary.law.com/default.aspx?selected=458), defamation is "the act of making untrue statements about another." Calling someone fat who is fat is not making an untrue statement.
18 zoechan 2015-06-11
Yeah and was it even all the mods? It only takes one to edit the sidebar.
48 ellimist 2015-06-11
They banned every mod.
This is why I really doubt it was because of doxxing/harrassment.
37 zoechan 2015-06-11
Fuck the admins. They're just on a power trip at this point.
9 Maple_Apple 2015-06-11
The encouragement of doxxing is untrue.
3 sluggles 2015-06-11
So if it was the mods, then why are they banning all the new related subreddits that other users are making?
2 ranium 2015-06-11
"Ban evasion" is the technical term, because obviously all those new subs were made by former FPH mods and not anyone that's just pissed at the admins' hissyfit.
3 sluggles 2015-06-11
I don't know why you say obviously. I would assume at least a few of those new subreddits were made by users that wanted to post but weren't mods of fph. That subreddit had thousands of subscribers, I'm sure some of them wanted to continue to have a place of their own, not just the mods.

7 IsThatWhatSheSaidTho 2015-06-11
You seem to think "brigading" means "sharing your opinions in discussions on other subs". There was never an influx of a great number of FPH'rs storming into a sub they never visit to downvote and troll and flame everyone.
There were times when, in the wild, fellow shitlords got into discussions about HAES/etc. with the flow of the conversation. If two people on a post in /r/pics talk about pokemon, that doesn't mean /r/gaming is brigading.
5 Hije5 2015-06-11
Even if someone did, where is your proof that they did it? Doesn't matter if claims are made, if there is no proof then they can't do this.
3 fettucchini 2015-06-11
Even if they did, is the proper response to ban an entire sub and its mods, for the actions of a few people?
1 Hije5 2015-06-11
Nope.
3 nilleftw 2015-06-11
If I tell you that iPhones suck, am I a poster from r/android brigading this sub with hate, or do I not like iPhones?
-7 Mopperton 2015-06-11
Are we forgetting the celebration of death of fat people in that sub? The open hatred of a recently married couple because one was overweight? What about the /r/suicidewatch brigade by members of FPH actively telling a person to end their life?
10 exciting_chains 2015-06-11
there was celebration of the death of fat activists, who died of complications due to obesity (can't look it up now that FPH is banned), the sub revolved more around the hatred for fat activists and the healthy at every size movement, the death of a leader of these movements was welcomed.

-3 Rcdriftchaser 2015-06-11
This needs to be on the front page. All those fat fucks and SJW giving each other high fives and donuts, NEEDS to see this shit...and realize what fucking Fat hypercritical shit heads they are. They say they want to get rid of the hate on reddit, yet they only go for the shit that hurts their feels in the lard.
lol btw, this reddit drama stuff is actually fun. I've never been so interested in reddit.
-7 Rabid_Chocobo 2015-06-11
That's the point. They're not banning ideas or ideologies. Enjoying watching people die, and looking at dead kids is bad, but they won't ban you for it. They didn't ban FPH because of their ideologies, but because the users were banding together to harass and bully people. That's what got them banned.
We could make an anti-america subreddit and not get banned, but as soon as we start planning terrorist attacks, you can't be like "muh freedom of speech"
1 stationhollow 2015-06-11
They weren't though... Putting a picture of the imgur staff in the sidebar with no personal information as a joke isn't brigading or such. If using a public image as a joke is against the rules half the content on reddit is against the Ike's...
10 Lecrazycatlady 2015-06-11
Its either what the fuck or dafaq, not both. Never both.
5 Don117 2015-06-11
Never both? But beat women?! Without a woman I wouldnt exist. Or you! Or you! or even........YOU....over there in the back with the funny hat
2 Lecrazycatlady 2015-06-11
What sort of bot is this?
1 Don117 2015-06-11
Error: 420 message not sent
9 TurtleRanAway 2015-06-11
Yeah it's freedom of speech. You're allowed to say whatever you like. The second you begin brigading/harassing, however, that crosses the line.
13 keyree 2015-06-11
I'm just loving the irony in crying censorship. FPH systematically banned anyone who they deemed even the remotest bit sympathetic toward fat people, and one of their subreddit's rules was literally "No dissent". And they could justify that because hey it's our community and we have discretion over what kind of content we want on here. Now reddit has turned it around on them, because it's their community and they have discretion over what kind of content they want on here, and now it's "BUT MY FREE SPEECH."
1 TurtleRanAway 2015-06-11
Exactly. They can all dish it but none of them can take it.
0 edwardsnowden8494 2015-06-11
No, the difference is a ban from a subreddit and a Reddit wide ban
6 Don117 2015-06-11
Right, which is why im lost on it all now.
9 TurtleRanAway 2015-06-11
Well you don't have to agree with it, and I definitely don't, and that's not even the worst sub. There are far, FAR worse subs out there, but it's freedom of speech, you can say what you want and (usually) not get punished. When you harass other people however then it becomes a problem. So as long as people in that subreddit dont promote/harrass women and say theyre gonna beat them or whatever, they are doing nothing illegal and can carry on. The issue with FPH was that it was like a center for harassing and promoting harrassment, and it was getting out of hand.
8 Don117 2015-06-11
I completely agree with you.
8 TurtleRanAway 2015-06-11
Well then that was the only calm and rational conversation i've had today.
6 Don117 2015-06-11
The pleasure was mine.
-2 DudeJapan 2015-06-11
FPH was an anti free speech sub reddit.
1 TurtleRanAway 2015-06-11
What no, you could say what you want. If it was "fat acceptance" youd get downvoted to hell, but what do you expect it is a subreddit about hating fat people.
3 DudeJapan 2015-06-11
Not true at all. If you said anything less than "All butter golems must die" you would get banned and FPH was proud of that. Their number one rule was "No dissenting". FPH was against free speech.
2 TurtleRanAway 2015-06-11
Oh yeah that's right actually. I remember I went there once and saw this post and said "that's a bit too far" and got a threat to get banned. This makes it all 10x funnier, down with those fucked up twats!
2 skaudis 2015-06-11
No you get insta-banned for anything not "fuck fatties" or the likes.
-3 PaulTheMerc 2015-06-11
so exactly what members of that sub did. That being said, nothing of value was lost, but I think other subs would/should be higher on the list of shit that should be deleted.
Imo, it should of just been removed from /r/all
2 [deleted] 2015-06-11
Yeah, this place has a pretty nasty rabbit hole. And I think a lot of people are about to find out how deep it goes, and bail (myself included).

1 [deleted] 2015-06-11

can we just have all hate subreddits banned?
15 [deleted] 2015-06-11
You do know that many consider /r/conspiracy a hate subreddit right?
1 PostNationalism 2015-06-11
/r/circlebroke made this argument to me today. wtf?? this is a harassment subreddit?
13 afiresword 2015-06-11
If the hate subreddits want to hate in the hate subreddits and don't harras others, I think they should stay. Of course, exceptions exist, but if others aren't directly harmed, I don't see much that is wrong.
8 TeddyPickNPin 2015-06-11

1 nickvansexhole 2015-06-11
FPH didn't brigade. Posting links to the rest of reddit was disallowed and policed closely by the mods. They knew they had a short leash.

Half joke half real I studied the main people there quite extensively for a few months talked to some gained their trust (on an alt account tho so I could make a convincing background) some like /u/bardsdirge just kinda do shit like that as part of their normal life some hate women others think its funny. It's pretty complicated.

Here's a plan: Let's go after the Reddit sponsors
19 [deleted] 2015-06-11
I like the way you think. Honestly though, I would rather see voat get sponsors and support those.
5 [deleted] 2015-06-11
[deleted]
8 afiresword 2015-06-11
Hit the company where it hurts, the revenue and make the Admins stop being so abusive and Pao to step down. That works, but how?
-1 otio2014 2015-06-11
It's quite simple. Write to the advertisers, call them out on social media. Make it quite plain to them that most users believe this site went down the drain because the admins tried to scrub the site to woo people like them. Make them take their money elsewhere.
18 jimmymcgillesq 2015-06-11
This might be why redditors have this negative reputation for harassment
1 discountedeggs 2015-06-11
"Let's show we love this site by actively sabotaging it"
"Oh no why is the site ruined!!!"
-1 otio2014 2015-06-11
The admins didn't seem to care when the FIFA sponsors were being harassed. Quite rightly too. Corporations are not people. If they don't want the harassment or negative publicity, dissociate from this site and take their money elsewhere. Win-win for all. Except for our Glorious Leader that is.
1 3seashellsIknowHow 2015-06-11
Meh, easier to just upvote all the other vile garbage that reddit hosts to the front page for a few days and let their advertisers see it in all it's glory. Problem solves itself.
1 amonmobile 2015-06-11
One of the only rules before all this was : No doxing.
1 Revolver_Camelot 2015-06-11
Or we could just get everyone to use AdBlock, no ad revenue for them, reddit team realizes reddit isn't a good place to advertise, fucks off back to legoland.
0 theguywhoreadsbooks 2015-06-11
Harassment will get just get you banned
0 lamaksha77 2015-06-11
Companies not people. I mean the admins were OK with the FIFA sponsors being harassed, so it would be hypocritical of its banned now.

0 MusicMagi 2015-06-11
They banned it because the users were harassing imgur employees and doxing them.
0 DefluousBistup 2015-06-11

Sorry I'll msg you some today sleeping little now.
8 DikFistinHotPockets 2015-06-11
Let's be frank. Reddit did this to itself.
5 snyx 2015-06-11

Honestly, the best solution is to leave. If you wanna do that, I'm gonna try out voat.co tomorrow; If you don't wanna leave, get an ad blocker and cut their revenue.
4 gallionator 2015-06-11
No, but all of reddit complaining about this is just as good as, if not better than signing a petition. If their user base plasters disapproval all over their own site, they'll get the point.
2 CaptainLoli 2015-06-11
I'm mostly ambivalent to the whole thing so I haven't really given it much thought but the shitstorm going on probably isn't the best solution.
Edit: Like the other people who replied said, the best solution is to either stop giving them revenue or leave altogether.

What were the other subreddits that got banned? all I was finding was that there were 5 (?) other subs banned.
1 reddit_oar 2015-06-11
The original reasoning for removal was because allegedly users began 'harassing' other people both online and offline. This was the reason for removal. How were the other subs, which were just created, violating any rules? Were they targeting users? This is just removing subreddits they think are distasteful. Good luck trying to clean up the mess when users can just create any subreddits they want.
1 msandyw 2015-06-11
I'm not about censorship, but I don't feel like those kind of subs have a place in society, much less on reddit. I don't like the principle of the bans, but I like the consequences.

1 novapikmin 2015-06-11
ITT: Let's remove subreddits where people supposedly harassed people online and offline, but let's keep subreddits where people are actually being beaten. What a sick twisted way of thinking.
1 moforiot 2015-06-11
Fat fucks have poor impulse control and are easily susceptible to ads. It is imperative that Reddit caters to this demographic for they sit on their lazy asses at the computer anytime they're not at work and therefore make up a large portion of the advertising base. If subreddits like /r/fatpeoplehate are allowed to hurt their fee fees by suggesting they get up and move they might not buy as much shit they see advertised on the Interwebs.
1 saitselkis 2015-06-11
It's really very easy to understand. Many of TPtB are fat, few of them are women.
1 WolfgangDS 2015-06-11
I would personally leave the beating women subs up not because of free speech, but so police and the FBI have something worthwhile to do.

0 reptiliod 2015-06-11

0 digikun 2015-06-11
This is why this rule is fucking stupid. It's not going to stop anything. You can't ban everything, they just keep making more. Reddit accounts take thirty seconds to make and subreddits take another forty-five to copy paste in the CSS and be carbon copies.
This rule will change nothing. All it's going to do is make these places bigger via the Streisand Effect. It's not stopping a damn thing. It's going to be repealed within a week, and you can quote me on that.
0 countspatula16c 2015-06-11
ATTN mods of /r/fatpeoplehate: Rally the shitlords! Direct us all to a separate website where we can get the latest subreddit name us shitlords want to congregate under with the same coding that FPH used, and keep creating a new one each time Chairman Pao finds it.
0 Kimchidiary 2015-06-11

Is there a sub for hot fat people and the love they deserve?
I personally love all shapes and sizes, hues and textures, this that and the other.
0 MattyOlyOi 2015-06-11
But... Again these bans happened because the users on those subreddits were actively harassing other redditors, and not because of the offensive content in that sub... Right???
0 sterling_mallory 2015-06-11
Because. They. Haven't. Broken. Any. Rules.
Seriously?
2 baddreamstonight 2015-06-11
0 sterling_mallory 2015-06-11
Nobody ever mentioned doxxing as a reason for the bans. Just harassment and then subsequent subs that were obvious attempts to skirt the FPH ban.
And the harassment was widespread long before any of the imgur stuff. They were constantly going into other subs and shitting them up. Then there was the time a person posted that they were fat and suicidal, so they all encouraged him to kill himself.
Just because it's the Internet doesn't mean it's cool to go around acting like an asshole to people. If they just stayed in their own playground like coontown or beatingwomen nobody would give a shit.
-1 Hash43 2015-06-11
Maybe because everyone I'm all those other fph subs openly admitted and band together to down vote every non fph post and break the site. Are you guys fucking retarded over here?
-1 The_fartocle 2015-06-11
Listen up guys. Mocking our Chairman or making fat post hit the front page is fun while the lulz last, but we need to think of something more long lasting. And effective. How about we go after the Reddit sponsors?
If the Reddit admins are willing to fuck over its userbase to get their hands on that sweet, sweet advertising revenue, well here's what we can do.
Let's go after the Reddit sponsors. Write to them, call them out on social media. Make them know of the unhappiness and anger here.
BTW: POST THIS EVERYWHERE MY FRIENDS!
-1 NorthBlizzard 2015-06-11
Just keep making them. If you end up getting to /r/fatpeoplehate106 it just looks worse and worse for them.
-1 MusicMagi 2015-06-11
You guys really still don't understand why /r/fatpeoplehate was banned? Please do some reading and educate yourself. Posting it here makes us all look bad.
-3 Stonephone 2015-06-11
I don't understand why everyone is throwing a fit for not being able to be so cruel to people, who even share reddit with you. Grow up? You're the ones fucking up reddit. Be hateful elsewhere.
-4 diaryofacatlady 2015-06-11
Fuck FPH. I'm glad their shitsub was banned. Rejoice that the hateful scum got their fee fee's hurt and are going to a different site. Hope that shit gets banned too.
-7 bloodstainedking 2015-06-11
will everyone supporting fatpeoplehate & fat acceptance please do mankind a favor by dying in a fire, while tasting their own blood...
-10 RogerWaterZ 2015-06-11
I think Reddit would be a lot better if it didn't have HATEful sub-Reddit. How is that different than bulling in real life. I got banned from /r/fatpeoplehate for defending a girl in a picture that was being picked on. Some of the comments were just so mean and hateful. It doesn't matter what that person is like one on one. The comments were just mean and abusive. UPDATE: I don't care if i am getting down voted for this post. It just proves my point.

The admins really need to get these stupid posts off here... this sub is being brigaded by all the FPH idiots trying to seek asylum in other subreddits while continuing to spam their bullshit
no way we need legit subs to get banned because FPH raided them all

this comment ALWAYS being posted whenever someone calls you assholes out for being assholes, is exactly what lead to your sub being banned

-2 docterk 2015-06-11
Seriously, this is a fucking website. These people need to go outside and interact with real people for once.
-27 truthseeker1990 2015-06-11
The people in fat people hate were routinely grabbing pics from tumblr, encouraging each other to send harassing messages to those people. There are lots of fucked up subreddits here but when you start to impact someones life directly using the thousands of subscribers in your subreddit as a mob then the subreddit becomes a platform for harassment. It has nothing to do with free speech.
23 KaribouLouDied 2015-06-11
Nope not at all. Encouraging to brigade was met with a swift ban. You are talking out your ass.
0 gopherssuckass 2015-06-11
lol you're either a bald-faced liar or insanely naive, just look at this comment section alone, and the "found the fatty" comments ad-nauseum, there is absolutely an organized effort to harass people outside of their sub
1 KaribouLouDied 2015-06-11
Yeah dude, and atheists don't harass church goers outside of their little "atheist land". Feminists dont harass people outside of their paradise to I take it? How about misogynists? All subreddits take their fucking opinions outside of their hivemind subreddit... You are literally targeting one group when every fucking group does it.. Are YOU that naive?
-22 truthseeker1990 2015-06-11
Why the aggresiveness?? I have seen it with my own eyes. Many times. It was not even discouraged. People liked it. Upvoted it.
19 dafuriousbadger 2015-06-11
I was a member of that sub for months have never witnessed any encouraging of brigading at all.
-3 truthseeker1990 2015-06-11
But I did. I was not a member, it was not a subreddit for my tastes but it would prop up on the front page a lot recently and I saw that kind of behavior. In those threads when someone outside fatpeoplehate came to know of this subreddit and tried to fuck with its members. People were very prone to stuff like that in those threads.
13 KaribouLouDied 2015-06-11
I'm not aggressive, just telling the truth. Also, no, you are completely incorrect.
-6 truthseeker1990 2015-06-11
Uhm. I dont think you understand the concept of incorrect. I saw them. I know. Its not a matter of correctness at that point. There is no incorrect way to see something and then realize what you are seeing actually exists.
3 KaribouLouDied 2015-06-11
I don't know if you trying to be arrogant or what, but if a username was displayed or any kind of "brigading" language used, the post would be deleted. Sure there are some bad apples but it was completely against the rules and swift justice would be dealt upon the abuser.
3 truthseeker1990 2015-06-11
I am not trying to be arrogant. If I said I saw something and someone tells me I am 'incorrect'. What does that even mean. I believe you when you say it was against the rules. But it still happened. Many times. There was a girl there, that maybe was the catalyst for all this, because it was very recent, who posted a video calling the subreddit out and people found out her tumblr page. It was not pretty. I am not saying it was right to ban it, though I do understand the urge. My original message simply said that it was not a matter of free speech. That is not why they were banned.
-1 KaribouLouDied 2015-06-11
Yah it happened, it happens on virtually every sub reddit...
0 truthseeker1990 2015-06-11
True. I am guessing it happened more here than normal. Or maybe the instances that happened here attracted more attention than others and reddit had to act.

-6 truthseeker1990 2015-06-11
Let me just say to those people downvoting. I could not give a damn for fake internet points. I saw this kind of behavior.
0 gopherssuckass 2015-06-11
don't worry we all saw it, or most of us anyways
and now they are again brigading to try to cover it up, I mean look at this post alone
1 truthseeker1990 2015-06-11
Am glad am not the only one. Don't worry though, this will die down in a day. Couch activists usually do not have much perseverance. And when it does, good riddance. I was getting very pissed off, it seems like they hijacked reddit for a day.

doxxing is such bullshit. #1 - it's the new rape scream for the internet. #2 - even if the mods were doing it (which i highly doubt), they weren't doing it in the name of the sub. There was no thread made about it. I was on there all of the time because it was hilarious and not a single time did i see any hint of doxxing.
edit: turns out that all they did was take pics of imgur staff off of imgur.com and put them in the sidebar of FPH. HARDLY doxxing, but we all know how these drama queens operate.
190 KaribouLouDied 2015-06-11
Are you kidding? FPH was SUPER strict about brigading..
26 Soundwavetrue 2015-06-11
Imgur banned FPH links probably because of legal problems
FPH decide to make fun of the employees on the side bar
FPH get banned a day later.
Its rather simple
2 Mister_Alucard 2015-06-11

this subreddit has been banned
-7 Mopperton 2015-06-11
Are we forgetting the celebration of death of fat people in that sub? The open hatred of a recently married couple because one was overweight? What about the /r/suicidewatch brigade by members of FPH actively telling a person to end their life?
2 hamplanethater 2015-06-11
found the fatty
9 Maple_Apple 2015-06-11
The encouragement of doxxing is untrue.
3 sluggles 2015-06-11
So if it was the mods, then why are they banning all the new related subreddits that other users are making?
7 Rainb0wcrash99 2015-06-11
Bard look you and me go way back (about a year so not wayyyy but a bit) but the cards are on the table here you are probably going down in flames soon if this whole media thing happens so I want to say this now.
Fuck you, you cunt.
Anyway now that thats over hopefully you and your gang of 14 yearolds, mentally disabled people, extreme power fantasists and misogynists will come to voat or wherever.

3 garlicdeath 2015-06-11
There weren't any brigades. The subreddit was really strict about that. No personal info or direct links allowed at all.
0 skaudis 2015-06-11
Hopefully won't see you here or somewhere else.
3 scofieldslays 2015-06-11
it's hilarious. the constant power struggle and attempts curbing the influence of fph is brilliant!
8 stationhollow 2015-06-11
There is nothing illegal about someone posting a picture in a subreddit. That picture was added to the Internet by the imgur staff. It's not like it was from a hacked device or anything.
2 KaribouLouDied 2015-06-11
Yah virtually all subs do it, but it's moderated as soon as possible.
5 notpahimar 2015-06-11

Yeah im in agreement. If the mods were the issues, ban the moderators. There is no way to prevent users and subscribers from engaging in bad behaviors.
