I'm not afraid anymore
14 2015-06-26 by swim32
I used to censor myself on social media. I used to avoid going to certain sites. I don't know why I was afraid, besides the idea that all of our data is used to build a profile and assign us to certain groups.
The fact that I was afraid to speak out in "the greatest democracy the world has ever seen" tells you where we truly are with regards to free speech and thought.
Post, share, comment. WE should not be afraid to criticize our government, our society or our leaders. Don't perpetuate the bullshit that MSM puts out.
Don't be afraid. Don't hide. "Our democracy has been hacked". This is our country. This is our world.
How to take it back? I don't know. I do know that it will take a collective awakening for us to be able to take this world back.
Please leave any ideas that you have for direct and meaningful action. Writing your congressman isn't going to do shit.

Go wild...but don't post under your real name! Devise an online username which is distinctive and that is exclusive to you, but which doesn't reveal your real world identity.

That doesn't mean shit. If you get your IP hacked they know exactly where/who you are
7 Sabremesh 2015-06-26
I didn't make it clear. I'm not talking about the NSA/FBI/CIA/SIS or whatever finding out who you are - I've given up worrying about that with this username.
I'm talking about taking steps to ensure your friends, family and (future) employers are not able to link your online identity with your real identity. The rabbit hole is journey you have to go on alone.

"Hacked." LOL.
Everything is tracked and recorded.

Change everything.. Every one to two months and never put a picture of yourself online.

I think he's talking about social media though, as in facebook and the like. Are you saying we should all be totally silent on anything that has our true identity on it? Is that the society we want to live in?
2 Sabremesh 2015-06-26
No, just to be circumspect about what you post under your own name. Many employers sysematically look at internet presence when assessing candidates' suitability these days. If you post strong "alternative" opinions you could end having a job application rejected by some witless HR drone who gets all her opinions from mainstream media.

How would they be able to see my fb posts if I have my profile set to private?
3 Sabremesh 2015-06-26
They could ask, and if you really wanted the job, you'd be stuck.

But also when you go down the rabbit hole, the people you are close to in the real world are no longer in the same place as you are. I have spent hundreds of hours looking into some conspiracies and explaining (persuasively) why you think they are conspiracies in a few sentences is extremely difficult. As a result, I have had some fairly antagonistic conversations with friends and family who either don't want to know or who think I have lost the plot.

Yep, I have the same result. I've realized the facebook stereotype of "guy who is constantly posting status updates about crazy stuff" is not the best. What I've found works for me, on FB, is to occasionally post something relatively uncontroversial (anti C-51, etc) and to "like" the posts of some of the more hardcore stuff. It pops up in the newsfeed of others that I have liked this article or post, I don't have to "put myself out there" by posting it as a status update, and maybe wake some people up in the process.
In the end, the "I'm not afraid anymore" mindset is exactly where we need to be, it's too late in the game for that, but going ham and posting CHEMTRAILS 9-11 as your status every 25 minutes is not helping anyone.

I agree. For me key is always be true to what I believe without saying the whole truth (and alienating people who know you in the real world). That's what my Sabremesh identity is for - I can say exactly what I believe without fear of blowback.

If we had a true democracy this would not be happening.
1 PMME_YOUR_TITS_WOMAN 2015-06-26
It's never been a true democracy.

What if the data collection isn't about just getting us to self censor? What if all the data they collect goes to teams of researchers who compile it and form algorithms that they use to program AI?
All the sock puppet accounts on social media would be a lot easier to coordinate with an algorithm and one human to edit vs thousands of humans to write and self edit...
What if the data they collect is as much about targeting everyone as much as it's about learning dialogue, values, ideals, and hot button issues we deem important?
What if they use the data to group and categorize people on an ideological and emotional level effectively know us better than we know ourselves?
Wouldn't it be a thousand times easier to spot potential lone wolfs, infiltrate grassroot activists and gain trust, squash or placate an uprising before it gained traction?
Does it seem like they'd use the data for this sort of thing because it's easier and allows them to kill in a discerning sort of way and thus satisfying their need for tyrannical control as well as anonymity?
The real shot callers desire control not worship. Those who desire worship are controllable and disposable.
It's a game remember?
Or yeah they actually think cheetos stained fingers furiously ranting on random reddit and other social media forums are threats... That masters degree from YouTube U and PhD form Wikipedia isn't something they take lightly :)

So I've been looking at things about conspiracies and stuff for the better part of a decade. I (when I had a social media account) was very outspoken about it. Now I am sure I'm on some list. I have never had trouble with the law, but everytime I fly somewhere I get pulled aside for more searching and questioning about where I'm going/doing. I have applied for several jobs where I need a background check ran (I wanted to be a police officer at one time. Then a bodyguard, and lastly a fire fighter which I applied for on several counties), and each one I met all minimum requirements yet failed a background check everytime. Again, I have no history that would cause me to be denied advancement to the other parts of application. But everytime. I may be being a nut, but I honestly believe it's because I'm on a list of undesirables due to things I've looked up, statements I've made about it, and what I believe.
I think when this Jade Helm 15 stuff ends they're going to bring down the hammer. And honestly, I think I will be one of the people black bagged in the middle of the night.

I hadn't planned on it.

Welcome to the group.
I have a way that just a few of us can start the momentum moving in the right direction without the need to destroy anything but I talk about it here too much already. Watch for it. It's clean and simple, costs nothing and it will work.
It's a way to get people who enjoy making themselves rich by making problems for the rest of us out of office and a way of replacing them with more human leaders.

Nothing short of Bloody Revolution is going to change anything. Diplomacy is a band aid. We might get a few laws that help, but the Stew Pot is Controlled by the Master who only dole out enough to keep the people from starving. If we want equality and Fairness, we are going to have to take it by force. Sit-ins are not going to cut it.

The tools of the past have only been neutered in people's minds. The Vietnam protests changed the world. Those in power did everything to make people think they were ineffective. They were not. They were shaking in their boots. These same non violent tools work.
1 Cobra-Serpentress 2015-06-26
They seem to convince Me. We got 3 unpopular wars since then. Iraq, Afghanistan, Iraq II. I fail to see how the Vietnam Protests Worked. We only left due to a sounding defeat. We did not leave due to protests.
I may be missing the entire point: Convince me.

Good for all.

You need to move your mind above theirs! Their goal is to mental case your mind based on fear. Research trama based control.

Well, technically, the US was a democratic republic....
2 thetimeisnow 2015-06-26
anti-democratic
1 pervyjeffo 2015-06-26
Nothing short of full scale revolution will do anything. For that I sit and wait... And I don't even live in the US. But once it starts there, every other country will follow.

About to start something...

Oh really?
1 iamagod_____ 2015-06-26
Yeah. You just a little transparent. Not as bad, but still... Steal a well known sn, post about the opposite of what he was known for. A well known and established tactic used by your other friends.
-2 Putin_loves_cats 2015-06-26
Shit am I?
I don't have friends, just my cats, finkelstein and silverstein.

I admit, I'm schizophrenic some times. You really think I'm a shill or something?
