Good to know I'm not alone.
What's with so many of the other comments here?
It's like they just read the title and started turning the thread into a celebrity gossip column.
Didn't expect to see that happen on /r/conspiracy.
Same here in Denmark, she seems to be everywhere all of a sudden, although I am not entirely convinced about op's analysis, it did strike me as strange
Schumer is just a Hollywood puppet. Another celebrity put out to encourage people to be fat, drunk, stupid, and slutty. And of course to promote any other agenda that her handlers tell her to. I don't see how she's any different from Lisa Lampanelli and that woman wasn't funny either. People just eat this shit up.
If you had bothered to read the actual post, rather than just the title, you'd know that the topic is Amy Schumer's role in an apparent conspiracy to condition/prime the public to vote for Hillary.
Amy Schumer's cousin is New York Senator Chuck Schumer who is one of the most vile persons to have featured in the Waco hearings as documented in the excellent Waco rules of engagement documentary. Amy teamed up with him recently after the trainwreck shootings to support guncontrol.
Terribly terribly unfunny human being. But everyone just keeps it up, "oh she is a girl and said vagina!" "girl making raunchy joke lolollol". Everyone has their own opinions but she is objectively unfunny.
I didn't know who she was, but kept hearing her name in relation to pop cultural something or another. The other day while in the check out line at the grocer's, her picture glared back at me from the cover of some tabloid.
She's a fatty. No joke. Pretty shocking considering she was apparently in a movie about being "oversexed" iirc. Wtf is wrong with people these days?!
It appears to be a massive campaign to inject into the public mind the idea that there's a gender inequality crisis in the U.S., and to make one of the primary political discussion topics (in general) that of gender inequality.
The campaign really kicked into gear around mid 2014; exactly the point in time when you'd expect the public conditioning to begin for ensuring the election of the next puppet president (Hillary).
They're catapulting many people, in many fields, into the spotlight who would normally receive little-to-no media attention. The most recent blatant example is Ronda Rousey but I chose to focus on Schumer in my OP because of how widespread and in-synch the effort is to jam her down everyone's throats. I was hoping to find at least one other person here who noticed the Schumer part of the campaign.
It has nothing to do with whether or not there are actually inequality issues (obviously there are). It's about massively exaggerating the seriousness of gender inequality in the U.S. and making sure the issue is occupying everyone's minds at a time when they're trying to ensure the election of a female president.
A female president would be lovely by the way; just not a corrupt puppet president who happens to not have a penis.
Ronda Rousey. Isn't she a conspiracy theorist and an MMA star? Why wouldn't she be famous?
It's not an issue of being famous; it's an issue of suddenly and inexplicably receiving far more media coverage than she ever normally would, and that coverage being crafted in a way that ideally fits the aforementioned gender inequality campaign.
Sarah Silverman was played out, so they needed a new, younger one. She's a contemporary media "archetype." She will flare for a couple years, then be washed up.
She's actually pretty funny sometimes, though, like Silverman, her schtick wears out fast.
Maybe men and women like different things? I personally hate tons of celebrities in Hollywood and don't find them funny, but I think there is more a problem with the Kardashians than there is with some vulgar actress.
I'm a woman and I've found Schumer amusing in the last few months that I keep seeing her. But it is interesting that she keeps coming up... I guess it's time to become mindful of the messages she's conveying instead of simply being amused.
I think she's hilarious, too. (Disclosure: Also a woman.) Internet dudes have an issue because she's not hot enough for their tastes and it's distasteful to them that women exist without their gaze.
However, OP has a fantastic point that there's something really weird about how the media's shoving her in our faces...like, yeah, she's funny, but the Broad City gals are even funnier, why isn't the media telling me I'm an asshole for not watching more of them?
The media did the same thing with Lena Dunham...I tried to watch Girls but stopped during that "you're a 14 year old" sex scene. GTFO w/that pedo crap, seriously.
Someone on here used to post a lot about a Nick Kroll conspiracy (his Dad owns a giant defense/investigative conglomerate, I often wonder if there's a tie to the Schumer thing.
she's not funny. the only thing funny about her is the fact that she is a self proclaimed feminist yet achieved fame / popularity solely by oversexualizing herself under the disguise of 'feminine freedom' or whatnot. yeah she's a powerful woman but if your shtick is only sex and talking about your vagina that seems counter productive to the cause...
It means you are content with how you were born and do not need validation through changing genders or something like that. It didn't exist until the transgender explosion as far as I know but now it's used in a derogatory way by those who are way up high riding the clouds of morality.
Example: "I'm happy to have been born a man"
The retort: "Die you cis scum! How dare you be happy how you were born!"
Again Im pretty sure its a veiled insult.
I think she's pretty funny. Her shows all sell out quickly so I'm assuming others do as well. Movie did pretty well. Seems like one hell of a stretch to claim some conspiracy tying her success to gun control.
Do you think the same of someone like Nugent, who is anti-gun control and hasnt been relevant since the 70s but suddenly because the face of anti-gun control? Surely there is something there, yes?
Senator's niece, gun control agenda, yes, be suspicious.
But just because men are put off by her comedy doesn't mean she's not funny to the rest of us.
I think she's hilarious. I'm still suspicious about her being pushed on us all the time, she's not funnier than Broad City and they're rarely lauded by the media.
It appears the PTB are looking to establish a strong, no-nonsense, unapologetic, chubby, comedic female icon to further advance their effort to mold the public mind into believing that there's a gender equality crisis so that they'll be primed to vote for Hillary next year.
Maybe Hollywood is just leveling the chubby comedian field that was forged by famous tubby comics like Jackie Gleason, John Candy, and Chris Farley.
Don't see anything here but entertainment companies cashing in on a woman who's the flavor of the week. I also happen to think she's quite funny. I don't think it has anything to do with an upcoming election, I think it has to do with making truckloads of money.
Maybe men and women like different things? I personally hate tons of celebrities in Hollywood and don't find them funny, but I think there is more a problem with the Kardashians than there is with some vulgar actress.

I brought up a similar sentiment to my usually open-minded friend and they scoffed at me.. But you're not alone. I'm noticing this pattern as well.

All of them on this thread. That's it.
So how much did Amy Schumer pay you to wave those pom poms?
-5 miteinschtein 2015-09-23
Ah, so you are trying to be funny.
I make a new reddit account every day goofball. Sometimes two.
3 xdyev 2015-09-23
And would you like to divulge the agency you work for which pays you to create new reddit accounts daily? Goofball?
-2 miteinschtein 2015-09-23
Yeah, expensive these reddit accounts. Someone's gotta be paying for em right?
Let's go with Trump. I'm working for Donald Trump.

You must be ruffling some serious feathers out there! Keep up the good work!

Funny. She's pretty unknown in The Netherlands. Yet a few weeks ago several printed media had large interviews with or articles about her.

Fuck Amy Schumer and whatever shtick she's got going on with Hilary Clinton.
Why would I read crap like that? Holy shit, that's just stupid.
Meanwhile the bankers are looting the place, you'll never again get a job that pays your bills, and you want to worry about Amy Schumer?
The Exit sign is flashing at you, follow it. Seriously, get out of here with that piffle.

There are a lot of inequality issues in the United States. To be unable to admit that is to walk around with your eyes closed.
