Whatever happened to the Homan Square/Chicago PD controversy?

That one.

I brought this up in a /r/worldnews post about a UK man being arrested for planning a massacre. The discussion turned towards "why would someone admit to a heinous crime they didn't actually commit". In my reasoning on that, I mentioned the link above and how places like that can illicit false confessions pretty readily: They're off the books, and 'enhanced interrogation techniques' are used (read: torture).

Then a mod from /r/ProtectAndServe showed up to call the whole thing 'bullshit'.* Being the kinda guy I am, I looked at the user name, saw they were a prominent mod of the aforementioned sub, and called them on their inherent bias.

But whatever happened to the whole controversy? It did get swept under the rug, within a day or so. It was huge.. for a day. Then nothing. I feel like I should've heard at least about lawsuits. Anyone been following this?

* : This is not a call to brigade. It's an NP link for a reason.

....There were multiple lawsuits, a majority settled out of court. Great efforts [$$] were taken to ensure things proceeded smoothly and quickly.

I live about 4 miles from the homan square facility. I can tell you nothing is going to be done about it. That's how it is here in Chicago and as long as Rham emanual is mayor it will stay that way.it's a culture of corruption here and its always been that way.

The teevee found a sufficient distraction (Kim Cardashian's ass, Caitlyn Jenner, etc) and the idiots fell for it. As usual.
