I love the idea but don't see how it could work. The page has a global audience now and any meet-up would have to be surely limited to one country/continent. The USA would seem like the obvious choice but i don't believe that this would truly represent the sub.

I do love the idea though.

The UK meetup would probably be us two, and wherearemyfeet representing topminds.

we three

There's a few of us really, I'm not sure I'd go if it were organised on reddit though.

I'd be a bit too suspicious. I'd probably wear a disguise!, christ that's almost convincing me. The chance to wear a fake moustache and read a broadsheet newspaper.

Ok, I'm sold now, purple afro wig and a droopy moustache for me.

Imagine a hipster bar in the middle of town, a priest and a baker meet talking in hushed whispers, looking around suspiciously with nervous laughter. Both with moustaches.

/r/conspiracy meet up!

This is the kind of thing that should be happening In a global society but tptb have made travel and human interaction much more difficult than it needs to be.

Speaking of wherearemyfeet, I watched an old WKRP episode today where Johnny Fever made a Monsanto joke. Nothing ever changes...

Me too.

I love it too.... But I wonder who all would be interested..... Maybe we should take a vote or just see the number of comments on this thread, which don't be too many. And then you have the problem of it being infiltrated :o

I love the idea. Anyone who has been around any length of time should have a general idea of who could be involved in an affinity group.

But the number of comments!... We'd be lucky if just the 2 of us showed up at which point we'd light a joint ;)

In roswell

Do a meet up with friends and people in town. Get the word out with physical flyers and don't put that shit on the computer. If you organize any kind of political protest/meetup on Reddit, FB or Twitter, it will be infiltrated.

This . Face to face interaction is almost too expensive and costly to organize crossed continents However this text based form of organizing and communicating ideas has led to many feeling very alone in their thoughts. This loneliness can lead to apathy and diss interest in the minds of some who think they are alone. I propose harvesting some sort of large scale video conference system i.e. Google's meet up thing but for some reason I don't think Google is the best way to communicate some of our ideas. If was more computer savvy I would probably develop some kind of chat room where social actavism said could see each others faces and read each others emotions and easily weed out the plants , trolls and instigators.

I agree. The joy I felt when I learned a few of my real life friends were also "conspiracy theorists" and many others are borderline suspicious.....

Like Defcon, but with fewer people and even more Feds. ;)

I think this would actually be kind of cool and fun, but we're all paranoiacs, so I'm not totally bullish on it...

Why would it get media coverage?

Why would somebody who never comments or posts here suggest this?

This

I hadn't seen that, I notice they managed to get the words conspiracy nut in there.

OP is probably a VICE or Buzzfeed contributor. Would make good clicks.

Las Vegas, NV would be a good choice for most of us plebes because of abundant cheap flights, hotel rooms, and meeting rooms.

Alternatively we could go the posh route, in which case why not have our own Davos in the Swiss Alps?

Vegas. Cause then there will be hookers and cocaine AND conspiracies

Finally. A cause I can believe in.

If there was sufficient interest and commitment, I could get a conference room at Harvard.

How cool would that be.

I think people here would be too suspicious for it to ever work!

It reminds me of the Doorman's Annual Convention - every year it fails because they all mill around the front door, not letting each other in!

But the number of comments!... We'd be lucky if just the 2 of us showed up at which point we'd light a joint ;)
