Lionsgate Entertainment caught attempting to bribe a reddit moderator into removing a post by a cinema employee, who calls out their company for being hard to deal with.

This was quite funny to read.

And here is the private message in which a Lionsgate Employee attempts to bribe a reddit moderator.

What a rude comment they say....

I think he could have tried a little harder and gotten a hand job for each subscriber to r/movies.

Subscribed.

What a rude comment they say...

Yeah, hey, welcome to Reddit! This your first time, I take it?

I did not mean it like that. The self righteous fuckwit had to nerve to bribe the administrator and took the moral high ground after the administrator threw it right back in his face.

No, I was agreeing with you, and the response was tongue in cheek towards the self-righteous fuckwit. You know, like it's what the moderator could have said in response.

All good

Clearly a troll.

"lionsgaterep_steve" such legit, much wow.

[deleted]

When will the /s ever end? The sarcasm in the comment was palpable well before you added a forward slash followed by a letter.

Not so sure, after all the comment is no longer able to be viewed..

basemod here.

OP deleted his thread. He's the manager of a theater, threatened to pirate a movie, and got doxxed easily by some users. With all the negative attention he deleted his own thread and then his account.

Also the modmail lionsgaterep user is not from Lionsgate, nor did I ever think he was. That user is actually the dipshit who kept doxxing the OP.

Oh goodness.. dipshits.

Forget it, girafa, it's /r/conspiracy

Lol no it isn't. This sub is about going against the mainstream narrative as much as possible regardless of how little sense it makes and being an echo chamber for people who don't have an ounce of reasoning or logic but still believe they're Einstein reincarnated.

Sure, let's play this game.

What do you need, specifically, as proof, and proving what? What do you think is the truth already? That the user works for Lionsgate? Is that what I have to debunk, because it took me about 0.0013 seconds to realize he doesn't work for Lionsgate.

the accusation is extremely believable to those of us who are adults and actually understand how marketing/PR works.

Well shucks, I defer to your obvious superior marketing knowledge.

[deleted]

What do you need, specifically, as proof,

That wasn't rhetorical. All i have are modmail conversations and other moderators who can back up this story, both of which you could easily say i doctored or are lying for me.

As for the logic, let's start with how Lionsgate wouldn't talk like a comic book villain with a ridiculous name. I've been doing this for years, when someone wants something removed that ain't how they go about it.

Also Lionsgate has our contact info in real life for AMA coordination. They wouldn't need to make a new account and talk like an idiot.

I get it, he even fooled some of our newer mods, but there wasn't any part of me that thought that he was real.

Just read my other comments for more info.

Paste the link at archive.org.

[deleted]

No but I believe when it does happen, it's not from an account called lionsgaterep_steve.

Yeah but I'm pretty sure she's promoting her brand rather than trying to illegally bride moderators.

[deleted]

get fucked lmao. literally just read that post

Damn the original post is already deleted

I suspect the /r/movies moderation team to be on a witch hunt for whatever spineless idiot took the bribe.

Or they are currently enjoying a handjob

The OP deleted his account, so I guess it wasn't the mods but Liongate putting pressure on him directly or something

Or the theater he works for.

he did threaten to pirate the movie, that's probably got some huge legal implications. If I was him, I'd be scared shitless and delete my account too, especially if it got attention from Lionsgate themselves.

eh, not really. They way it was worded also makes it clear they have no intention of doing so.

Hmm I was thinking the opposite. I'm pretty sure the mods of the big 10 subs are planted by Reddit themselves, infiltrated by various government agencies, or just corrupted all on their own accord. Maybe a mix of all 3.

Mix of all 4 for sure.

More likely they are challenging one another with who can perform the most rapid descent to ones knees and begin fellation of the L.A Money Train represented by Hollywood Studio.

Lionsgate has a huge money dick and Reddit mods, especially defaults, show a startling predilection for wanting on that dick.

Never forget that Reddit is just a small bit of a huge mega Corp Conde Naste. So yeah, there's no actual edge to Reddit, it's a shill for a corporation...

It's pasted into the comments and is currently the top comment if you want to read it.

I went through various top comments. Didn't see it.

Thank you.

$100,000 for each moderator. What a thoughtful bro.

But is that just one hand job from Jennifer Lawrence or one for each moderator?

They were going to raffle it.

They used to raffle off blowjobs from hookers at this speakeasy in my town back in the day. Some old dude got one and dropped dead when he got home to his wife.

I...I did not know that.

I don't know, man. If that transaction had gone down, I'd have a hard time holding it against the mods. Everyone has a price. At least they didn't cave for a night with the girl who works the popcorn stand at the AMC in Podunk, Ohio.

She is pretty damn cute though...

Asking the important questions

Thanks for that. Appreciated.

The astor theatre in melbourne Oz specialises in screening old movies, and with the move to digital projection and lockout keys they have had more than one screening cancelled midstream as the system has failed, and time zone differences mean their calls to offices on the other side of the planet in the middle of the screening go unanswered.

This sort of mendacity with lockout keys for something you've already purchased is sorta like a return to feudalism.

Maybe cinema is a bit trivial, but you see the same thing too in agriculture. GM products with terminator genes ensuring you go back each season to the company, their immune systems tailored in such a way you can only use the companies exclusive patented pesticides and herbicides and fertiliser.

We're being indentured.

Anyway, lionsgate make crappy films.

This sort of mendacity with lockout keys for something you've already purchased is sorta like a return to feudalism.

Private property is one of those big Enlightenment ideas at the core of Western society. There is a very obvious trend towards corporate abolition of private property in favour of the old leasehold system.

I don't own about a third of the music on my iPad, I only have a non-transferable license from Apple. Nevermind the fact that an album in iTunes costs the same as a physical CD, despite there being no physical product whatsoever. The other two-thirds of what's on iTunes comes from CDs that I physically own. I recently heard that Apple wants to block users from doing that because it's 'copying' and therefore 'piracy'.

What about movies and TV shows? I have several hundred DVDs and Blu-Rays. Because I had an old CRT TV and a 3DHD monitor I got a BR drive for the PC. When I got a new TV, I connected it to the PC and get a message telling me I'm not authorised to attempt that action whenever I try to watch a BR. I can watch DVDs just fine, but if I try to watch a BR that I own on my 50 inch TV instead of my 28 inch monitor I am essentially accused of piracy. I get Game of Thrones on iTunes and can watch it on my TV, but when I buy the BR I can only watch it on my PC.

More or less the same can be said for a slew of other things, in all facets of life, as well. We are being sheperded away from ownership rights and turned into renters.

That would be an issue with your cables, use a hd connection like DVI or HDMI. But aside from that technical issue, spot on.

It's not an issue with the brand new HDMI cables that allow me to use my TV as a second monitor in any other circumstance other than when I press Play while a BR is in the drive. Cyberlink simply refuses to run the disc, telling me I am unauthorised, until I disconnect the TV in monitor settings. I can watch anything else, including DVDs and iTunes, on the TV through the PC unless I want to watch a Blu-Ray.

Your old TV probably doesn't have HDCP.

My old TV is unplugged in the spare room.

Mod updated that it is a troll and not actually lionsgate.

[deleted]

Hmm... anyone ever think of making a honeypot to test out this activity/behavior by corporations?

That bitch is blind as a bat

Are you honeydickin me?

/u/lionsgaterep_steve? That seems highly plausible.

"This account has been suspended"

How people actually believe this is a real lionsgate employee is beyond me.

Hold on, moderator is job? Where's my paycheck Reddit?

here is the private message in which a Lionsgate Employee attempts to bribe a reddit moderator.

Word on the handjob request, girafa. Word on the handjob request. lol

Shot for the moon with JLaw :)

This is rock n roll as fuck! I can't believe they tried to bride you with movie tickets despite the fact that you get to see movies for free anyway. I cannot believe this is real.

Because it isn't.

Another stupid Lionsgateism is not putting the full quality soundtrack on rental Blurays. If you get one of their videos from Redbox or Netflix on Bluray, the disc will not have any lossless 7.1 soundtracks, you'll be stuck with DVD quality sound. They are the only studio that does this.

How can you believe this guy isn't a troll?

Glad these idiots cocksuckers went so far as to include his they were able to make that determination. It's more than likely this time they took the bribe from their fellow tribesmen, agreeing to also publicize that no LGE employees ever attempted to silence it.

Thank God for the 1948 Paramount Decree. Imagine if studios owns the movie theaters today?

All Lionsgate had to do is pay two people and that post could be taken down without Lionsgate being muted... FUCK LIONSGATE

Lionsgate

This is so scandalous it should be called Lionsgate-gate

So these suspiciously pro Hollywood studio shill talking motherfuckers sure try everything their arsenal to make it look like this was simply the OP deleting his own comments, submissions, and ultimately his account. Yeah, the studio didn't get exactly what they want here.

Fools.

https://archive.is/5REve

OP posted a seperate thread https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/3tdyq3/lionsgate/

Where they apologize and say they deleted the thread. Wonder if lionsgate threatened to sue them or worse.

I dunno, I'd probably cave for a big mac, fries and a handy from someone pretending to be Jlaw.

Why does "bannedbytheadmins" keep posting the profile of "katie from pornhub"?

I don't get the implication

People questioning the legitimacy of the user's name are pointed to another legitimate user who uses a similar naming scheme.

Of course it's more than just the name that made the "Lionsgate" message suspect...

Lol @ them thinking mods get paid and are hired for their positions. That basedmod handled it well.

This can't be real.

Wow so the post has been removed? I read it when it hit the front page it was mild bitching about how lionsgate protects thier hard drive movies. I guess the guy IS being removed as moderator?

People think reditt is a special free speech site. It sure as fuck isn't. Ita 100% corporate owned and operated. Mods who like thier "job" (lol) better read between the lines and understand

Are you kidding me? No the mods didn't remove it, holy shit. OP deleted it himself.

Lol I would have permabanned that lions gate cunt

LOL!

Deleted? So they succeeded?

Not just in removing, bribing but also removed the mod from the job?

...no. OP deleted it himself.

Where do you see that the mod was removed? Wtf? It was a troll first of all, and they don't have that kind of power. That's not how this works. Don't say that kind of shit when the mod obviously wasn't removed.

Lionsgate-gate

I wonder if they got upset for not thinking of that first.

Funny this is.

Wow, they really did try to bribe, and when that didn't work they threatened legal action and the mod being 'removed'.

This sub appears to be the last bastion of Reddit freedom.

I'm going to be real for a second guys, but if I was a mod and someone from lionsgate offered me $100,000, I would totally screw all of you over. I'm sorry but fake internet points vs 100k I will take 100k every day. 10k? I don't know if that's worth it but definitely 100k

Dude I'd do it for the HJ from JLaw alone.

I'd dress up as jLaw and blow Steve from lionsgate.

Why I would do that is between me and my therapist.
