I cannot be the only one who saw the documentary on Netflix about the American kid who went to Iraq to record some video, then got picked up by the military, and ended up recording their exploits for few days/weeks. Including something called "H.I. Missions" which were horrifying.

Is it possible this is the same one you saw but with a different editing or it's a completely different documentary?
Different cuts of a same film are not uncommon. With this being a very complicated subject, I wouldn't be surprised if the author was forced to edit the movie several times after it's release.
