Berenstain Bears Conspiracy - Need HELP
3 2015-12-09 by Libertarian__gamer
Hello my fellow redditors. Can someone explain why over the course of like 30 years Bernstein changed to Bernstain? A friend of mine asked me, since I'm an expert on conspiracies, but I had no idea what this was. I was thinking the change from Stein to Stain was possibly something to do with zionism, and media control. But others say it has to do with Parallel universes. Help

Google it. Mandela effect.

I dug through the attic. Here is a Berenstain book from 1984. It wasn't changed. That doesn't rule out parallel universes.

Doesnt say the title. Says the authors name.

...here you go. Need anything else?

In September of 2010, the Chinese government somehow made multiple changes to historical "logos," or, put simply, things that were already written.

Parallel timelines.
1 giantfrogfish 2015-12-09
It's called the multiverse and collective consciousness . Time is not what you think it is...

Hey guess what? There's an active subreddit/circle-jerk especially for this, with millions of redditors who "remember" it as Berenstein.

Ive personally had trouble and anxiety about this too as i have an Actual memory of being at my best friends house as a kid, and he had just gotten into metal and he put on a 'Rammstein' Cd, and i remember we both laughed and had a giggle as right on his shelf he had a berenstein bears book. i remember clearly in my head seeing the cover. and us marching around the room to the sound of rammstein yelling "Rammstein Bears" . We were probably 12 or 13 years old.
Ive asked everyone separately in my family if they remember the name of a series of books of bears, And all separately they have remembered Berenstein.
I don't Know what the fuck is going on but I seriously consider my family and others have crossed to a parallel dimension or some crazy wiz biz shiz

Want to know whats even creepier? Is that I used to have a Photo i found on this sub of a digital cam picture or a Berenstein bears cover. It was bookmarked into my browser, and i saved it on My SSD and then on my external, I go to look for any of this just now and cant find anything!

There is also a large group who remember Nelson Mandela dying while incarcerated in South Africa. He didn't though.

Was it to skirt a copyright?

This isn't a conspiracy.

Thanks conspiracy police! You saved the day!

They didn't.
It's a false memory.
1 ravenously_red 2015-12-09
It's definitely not a false memory. I used to read those books and check them out from the bookmobile. In addition to that, they used to have a cartoon show where they said the name. It definitely wasn't Bernstain.
1 grandmacaesar 2015-12-09
It's Berenstain now because it was Berenstain then.
I read Berenstain Bears books to my kids when they were young.
Berenstain Bears cartoons began running in the fall of '85. I'm sure you can purchase old copies of TV Guides on ebay (or other sites) that will show the spelling as Berenstain.
And I worked for several years as a librarian, where I put Berenstain Bears books on the juvenile shelf, alphabetized by authors' name, Stan and Jan Berenstain.

Thing is....if there's been a rift in the time/space continuum, some things may have been changed, shifted. That's what people are positing.
This time/space event took place either on 9/11 or the first time they got the LGR going in Bern.
1 grandmacaesar 2015-12-09
No. If that were the case, we would all remember it as Berenstein.
I can prove it has always been Berenstain. Find any of the old books.
Disagree? Show me proof there was "a rift in the time/space continuum" that would only affect the memory of some (but certainly not all) of the people who read the books and watched the show.
This hypothetical "event" is bullshit made up by people who just can't accept they read it wrong as children.
3 IanPhlegming 2015-12-09
I'm just having fun w/ this conspiracy. It's not that big a deal to me either way, because I can't influence it and it seems pretty harmless. Thanks for your comment, though!

What's the name of this monster? http://i.imgur.com/madWkw6.jpg
It is a false memory, stein is more popular than stain, so they remember it as stein.
Sure? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQ9T5D1KiGg

Umm, that's franken-STINE, Berenstein/stain bears was pronounced as Beren-STEEN. German (former) vs German Jew (latter) pronunciation. Stain would never be pronounced as Stine or Steen. Source, know how to speak German. If it was truly stain all along, then people would've said stain not steen or stine. Better luck next time.
3 DukeLeto2 2015-12-09
Absolutely. I knew plenty of Jews growing up, including family members, and struggling with STEEN vs STEIN was something that definitely happened. Never called it STAIN.
2 Putin_loves_cats 2015-12-09
Exactly. I'm part German and also grew up with a few Jews (friends, friends of the family, associates, etc etc).
3 DukeLeto2 2015-12-09
And the general consensus was that it was pronounced with a STEEN even though it was spelled STEIN, at least as I figured at that time.
2 Putin_loves_cats 2015-12-09
Yes. I clearly remember it Berenstein, and pronouncing it Beren-Steen. Coming from a part German family, they would've corrected me, because they knew who the authors were (Jews). Hate to say it, but my German grand parents, were no bullshitters, prejudice, and just that way. They would've corrected the way I said it, it was not Stine, and it sure as hell wasn't Stain. Sadly, they are no longer here for me to recount this.... The Mandela effect is trippy stuff. I also remember Louie Anderson passing from a heart attack years ago. But, last time I checked he is a live and well..
3 DukeLeto2 2015-12-09
Yup me too. I'd say around 2011 ish time frame.
2 Rockran 2015-12-09
Wrong, the monster has no name. Frankenstein is the name of the scientist.
See? False memory strikes again.
In the cartoon they pronounce it as 'stain'. Watch the youtube link in my previous comment. Bearenstain, like a clothing stain.
3 Putin_loves_cats 2015-12-09
That's not a false memory, mate. and doesn't support your case. Sorry... That is ignorance of people who didn't read the book. In this case, people did read the book and that was the families name, on the fucking cover!
2 Rockran 2015-12-09
Edited my comment about the pronunciation.
3 Putin_loves_cats 2015-12-09
True. But, you're missing the whole point of the Mandela effect.....
2 Rockran 2015-12-09
The video provided spelling AND pronunciation.
If that doesn't absolutely disprove the theory, nothing will. Hell, the uploader of the video even make the same mistake in naming the video, despite the video itself containing the correct, stain, spelling.
It's just a very common mistake.
Widespread false memories are still false memories.
3 Putin_loves_cats 2015-12-09
Frankenstein's monster is not a false memory.... You are really grasping here. I'll give you, if you didn't read the book, you'd be ignorant. But, that is not a false memory. Millions of people who read the Berenstein bears book and remember it as so, is completely different. I merely was saying that Stine is completely different than Steen. Which is how the Bear's last name was pronounced. You wouldn't do that with Stain, even in the US. Hate to break it to you, we have a huge German populous here...
