Question for the Mods

In the sidebar it says to be respectful and to not call anyone a shill. I'm new to Reddit but this sub fascinates me, one thing I've noticed is that a lot of the "regulars" here do not have the sidebar rules applied to them but those of opposing view points are reprimanded.

Why are the rules here so unevenly applied? Hmmmm?

It is a rule that inhibits free speech, I say get rid of it.

Here here!

You mean "hear, hear"

Regular Algonquin Roundtable right here.

Removed, rule 10.

Amen. I'm sick of these part time users who want this to be a "safe space."

Shills hate this sub, so let em hate.

It is r/conspiracy's conspiracy.

Example?

Sure, here's one example:

http://www.reddit.com/r/conspiracy/comments/3y82df/the_moon_landing/cye5xkp

The deleted comments were laced with profanity and shill accusations. The guy was warned that he'd be banned of he continued yet he still hasn't been banned.

You can also look at lucycohen's history where she accused many people of being a paid poster (code for shill) and was finally called out by flytape. Had she been a non-conspiracy theorist she would have been immediately banned.

It's pretty hypocritical of the mods to apply the side bar rules inconsistently.

Careful: talking about the mods could be seen as a violation of rule 10.

And talking about accusations of rules violations could be seen as a violation of rule 2.

It looks like shitposts and calling someone a shill are totally OK, though.

The mods are on vacation.

There's been a great deal of clear and blatant rule violations that they haven't dealt with.

Bullshit. I know for a fact they are still banning people.

That's gay... that you know for a fact, that is.

I think his JoeBloggs alt got banned.

Like who?

Because I've been reporting blatant rule breaking for the past few days and the comments are still up.

I won't name names, I'll just quote this mod comment from two hours ago:

Funny... I see people attacking others all the time, but they rarely get banned.

This simply isn't true, dozens of people have been banned for exactly this over the last few weeks. Report rule violations when you see them.

Cheers for the link.

I have noticed this too, its like a witch hunt sometimes.

Really you've noticed that, but not the users who've spent literal months of online time policing this site, downvoting it and taking a contrarian opinion...every single time?

They have a headquarters!

You should honestly look into the behaviors of these users if you believe shills aren't very present here.

ive noticed some of this lately its not just discussion down voting but there are quite a few perps checking spelling again. that kind of shit is ridiculous..i don't know how many conversations i have read through about some serious issues and the grammar trolls are alive and well. they get banned without warning in some subs. and they should in here as well some one pointed out earlier that a lot of the latest bunch has been from new accounts. and have no activity any where else.

i think also that the mods in here are way more forgiving which is cool. just report. they may not be seeing some of this nonsense.

but there are quite a few perps checking spelling again

That's a service. People who can't spell haven't done very much reading and aren't very smart. They should be called out relentlessly so people know their ideas are stupid.

No, re-read what I wrote. I'm not taking about new accounts that violate the rules. I'm talking about people who have been here for a long time who's views are in line with sub that don't have the rules applied to them.

oh i know what you are saying this sub is as cliquey as shit. most of the people i know in here are not vote counters and could care less i got banned from a paranormal sub because i accused a guy of posting well known faked photos.. they pick and choose they're favorites that's for sure.
