Can we talk about /r/actualconspiracies?
11 2016-01-18 by Bmyrab
So, um, I hope it's ok to ask about this. If I interpreted the rules correctly it is.
What is the story with /r/actualconspiracies?
I posted something I is an indisputable fact--that the 1976 Final Report of the House Select Committee on Assassinations concluded there was "probable conspiracy" in the 1963 assassination of President Kennedy.
It was labeled as DEBUNKED. Yet it's a fact. WTF?

Here is the problem: MODERATORS confluencer WeaponizedJerk AddictedReddit maplesyrupballs duckvimes_
Last name on that list is an Infamous Zionist Supremacist CockSucker without compare. That is the issue with that subreddit.

Early on they had some [confirmed] conspiracies involving Zionist plots to steer powerhouse nations into all sorts of mischief surrounding Israel and Palestine. All those posts have been scrubbed minus a few young ones.

Ask them about Joshua Ryne Goldberg and enjoy the apoplexy.
4 Flytape 2016-01-18
I don't have any desire to exchange words with them.
1 AntiHasbaraUnit 2016-01-18
Do not fret, they will take your words and use them as they see fit without your interaction.
0 Flytape 2016-01-18
Already been there and done that.
0 Bmyrab 2016-01-18
Now I can say that!
0 Bmyrab 2016-01-18
I shant fret then. Thanks for the input.

I can see why after my one experience.
0 Bmyrab 2016-01-18
LOL. I'm tempted...

Yeah I'm getting the picture. No critical thinkers allowed there. Thanks.

Thanks for the input. Won't waste my time there.

It's a shit hole. It's run by Reddit authoritarians and its well scrubbed for political slant and inconvenience.

Yep. It's a disinfo sub. Just look at related subreddits:

Ooooo. Yeah ok. That's what I needed to know. Thanks Keklogob.
2 Bmyrab 2016-01-18
Yup. Thanks. I'm getting the lay of the land.

Used to mod there. I still have a connection the the top mod. We are defiantly not connected to "Reddit Authoritarians"
The point of the sub is discussion about conspiracies that have evidence behind it, and not just people's ideas about what could be going on.
2 Flytape 2016-01-18
I'm sorry man but you have several on the mod team. Even a race obsessed PC police man.
1 Flytape 2016-01-18
Furthermore look at all the subs linked in the sidebar. The mission there is clear enough. It's a shitty sub ran by shittier people who have actively harassed this sub for years.
The duckvimes character was even shadowbanned for harassment, which is why he has an underscore after his name now, and why there are a bunch of links to his harassment subs in the sidebar.

Such disinfo, much wow.
2 thc1967 2016-01-18
Perhaps you should ask them where they found the information about the debunking, and then go read the information they link.
-1 Bmyrab 2016-01-18
I was really asking about people's opinions on that subreddit, rather than what BS excuse their rulers found to deny a fact.
4 jayme0227 2016-01-18
How do you know it's BS?
2 thc1967 2016-01-18
They seem like they do their research. /shrug
Have you asked them to provide you information about the debunking? If not, why not? If so, when you read it, what did you think of it?
0 Bmyrab 2016-01-18
I didn't ask because I don't see any reasonable explanation for claiming that a sourced quote from the HSCA official conclusion is bogus. I'm more interested in whether or not that's a decent subreddit to spend time in, and I'm concluding it's not.
4 thc1967 2016-01-18
I guess that depends upon your goal.
If your goal is to have your confirmation bias upheld, then it might not be a good place to go.
If you goal is to hone your research skills, then it could be worthwhile.
-1 Bmyrab 2016-01-18
You present a false dichotomy so well. Kudos!
2 Moses_was_Gay 2016-01-18
little guy thinks he debunked the conclusion of the commission and the mods backed him.
In other words, just don't give them any free traffic.
-1 Bmyrab 2016-01-18
Yeah I think that's the correct course of action. Thanks very much.
2 BoojumG 2016-01-18
The answer is literally in the top post.
