Oh haha. Since we're in this thread, I wonder if Linux is a combination of Lynx (named for their reflective eyes and powerful eye-sight) and Nux (Greek for night)?

Hmm. So Tux actually isn't based on Opus the Penguin, the tux-wearing cartoon character? Opus is suspiciously similar to Opos (Greek: eye) and in fact, an English speaker would pronounce both words identically.
But I'm sure the resemblance between Tux & Opus is totally a coincidence ... :P

I agree! I also love choices :) Thanks for the links, I'd never heard of those before.

That's an eye symbol as well, nice job! Want to collaborate? It'll be fun!

I find Saturn symbolism in logos more interesting. I think they are related.
3 [deleted] 2016-05-17
I do too! I have some ideas but I'm not sure which if any agree with the intention behind the logo designers:
Saturn = Cronus, derived from the Semitic root word CRN
Compare CRN with CERN (Latin: See)
Cornea is also derived from CRN
Cronus' symbol is the scythe, synonymous with saw (the tool, but past tense of see)
Saturn looks like an eye from the top view
Top-view it also looks like the Egyptian hieroglyph for the sun (Eye of Ra/Horus).

That is very interesting, yet another CERN connection.
I noticed this CERN-Saturn connection in this video. I linked it to the relevant part so you can see what I'm talking about but this entire video is very interesting.
1 [deleted] 2016-05-17
Wow that is interesting. It does look like Saturn. Even has the blue center with the reddish ring around it, then orange.
Reminds me of Apple's planned headquarters, shaped like a giant blue i.
I mean eye.
3 DirtyBird9889 2016-05-17
You ever think about why anyone would worship Saturn?
2 [deleted] 2016-05-17
I believe there are definitely people who do it in exchange for favors (at least perceived favors), but I also believe that Saturn & other sorts of eye symbolism are better explained as just a mark by which Freemasons identify each other and their corporations. Even the Reddit name and logo is the Masonic Eye of G-d, but it's cleverly disguised.
1 nunsinnikes 2016-05-17
How so?
2 [deleted] 2016-05-17
Check it out. Y = Yahweh is not actually a big stretch, because the Hebrew letter Y (symbolizing Yahweh) inside a triangle is a common Masonic symbol.
2 nunsinnikes 2016-05-17
Yeah, I can see it. Thanks for linking.
1 [deleted] 2016-05-17
No problem.
1 [deleted] 2016-05-17
Btw, didn't mean to be condescending. :P
1 nunsinnikes 2016-05-17
No worries, didn't get that vibe at all. Have you checked out vigiliantcitizen at all? He does a monthly round up of Masonic/Illuminati symbols from the previous month. Very, very eye opening. I can link you if you can't find it.
1 [deleted] 2016-05-17
Shill alert ...
1 nunsinnikes 2016-05-17
Perhaps, and I've had similar suspicions, but he still does post real examples of symbolism. Even if it's being leaked from a corrupted source, it's still real life examples.
1 [deleted] 2016-05-17
I didn't mean I think he's a shill because he was Catholic (I'm Catholic), I meant he's putting down Catholicism and encouraging people to become "Christian" (whatever that means). Historically the Catholics have been the greatest enemies of Freemasonry so this sounds like something a Freemason would do.
Anyways.
I did check out his website and all I saw was pop stars doing masonic signs. :\ Could you point me to some more interesting content? xD Like, does he explain what Drake and YOLO and OVO really mean? Now that would be something ...
1 nunsinnikes 2016-05-17
Yeah, he has a lot of pop culture watchdogging. There's some decent content on there though, if very editorialized in places.
You'd probably like this. I don't think he goes into YOLO or OVO. Can you? I'm unfamiliar.
1 [deleted] 2016-05-17
P.S. I only said "half the puzzle" because surely there must be an allusion to the eye of g-d in that Apartments logo somewhere? I'm so used to seeing satanic symbolism in logos but then eventually finding another layer of meaning.
2 DirtyBird9889 2016-05-17
Do you know of any significance to the kite shape used in the logo?
1 [deleted] 2016-05-17
Kite!!! Nepthys = Kite & Falcon, and Falcon = Horus!
2 DirtyBird9889 2016-05-17
Very interesting. The conflict of Horus and Set may be one of my favorite stories.
I am familiar with Horace as the "sky god," does he have eye symbolism as well?
1 [deleted] 2016-05-17
Yeah, this is his eye and it's actually the most popular eye symbol. It can be inferred that the all-seeing eye above the pyramid on the dollar bill is the eye of Horus too.
2 DirtyBird9889 2016-05-17
Oh yeah of course, and that's also commonly considered to be a depiction of the pineal gland.
2 [deleted] 2016-05-17
I always thought that was disinfo. The Egyptians considered the brain worthless and discarded it after death, so why would they base one of their favorite symbols on it?
2 DirtyBird9889 2016-05-17
Perhaps they saw it as our connection with the higher realms during life but considered it useless after death?
2 [deleted] 2016-05-17
That's definitely possible but I have never heard of it.
2 911bodysnatchers322 2016-05-17
google 'youtube freeman fly' he has a very very good documentary on corporate logos and freemasonry.
Also you should know, if this 'eye of providence' gives you anxiety, you can do these two dispell magic rituals (from thomas sheridan)
Draw the pyramid eye in pencil on paper, then erase it with an eraser, then write you name in pen on it and doodle, coloring it in until the images impression is totally gone.
Get out a dollar with the pyramid. Draw a penis on it. Or the eye of sauron. or write 'sauron' or 'mayan spaceship' on it. Come up with your own creative silly thing and write on it in pencil. Write 'freemason starship' on it or something. In pencil of course, it's not legal for me to tell you to do it in magic marker because that would be defacing it
