I just tried to post on r/news about the US stocks plunging

92  2016-06-25 by IsayLittleBuddy

I messaged them several minutes later asking why it was not posted, officially. I copied the headline from ABC news word for word and it did not contain any analysis or hyperbole. The response I got was a ban for questioning the moderators. They said that an overnight, historic 2T dollar loss was a matter of opinion. It's clear some mods have an inflated authority complex. If it continues to plunge, I guess we are going to just bury our heads in the sand or they will sticky something on their own account. Reddit should start getting people with credentials to actually run these subs.

Under the covers, Reddit reflects its owners: Conde-Nast.

Actually, Advance Publications, which is the parent company of Conde-Nast, took direct control of reddit in 2011.

Also, did you know Conde-Nast occupies floors 20 through 45 of the new world trade center building?

That's interesting. Well, office space is office space....

Whoa whoa whoa...I thought Snoop Dogg owned Reddit?

par for the course, unfortunately.

Market is rigged like hell anyway. Not to mention a dollar value fall might actually bring some jobs back.

You're absolutely right. They create a vacuum and then capitalize on it. It's no different than sports betting. Get in while the odds favor you, even if it makes the proletariat suffer, fill the vacuum, profit, repeat.

Censorship, lol. Reddit is a shit hole.

The power hungry basement dwellers mostly sold their accounts to corporate interests long ago. Now, the corporate folks just pretend to be power hungry basement dwellers.

too late.

A generally down day.

Yeah, but PMs were up!

Post it here.

Done, thanks.

Not seeing it.

It's in the comments and subject header, at the top.

I meant a regular post on conspiracy. Which I went ahead and did.

What's to stop anybody from starting a new r/news kind of subreddit, like r/hardnews or r/realnews or even r/newz ? And have a couple of our own mods to run it?

Nothing. Just created /r/GlobalPress. Anyone interested?

I may check it out, but honestly, I only pretty much come to r/conspiracy anyway.

What I suppose we want to do is find an outlet to inform others that isn't r/conspiracy because of the baggage it carries. It's a noble pursuit.

But, honestly, I'm not sure I'm the man to go wading into the waters of the great unwashed. I do what I can for people who are seeking. When I try to go broader, I just get frustrated and angry.

"You can't force salvation on people, Jim," as the doomed hero is told in Michael Cimino's "Heaven's Gate."

have you tried /r/C_S_T?

/r/TrueReddit is along those lines; mods don't remove anything except spam and they let votes speak for themselves.

For the record: /TrueReddit is not a subreddit for news.

/r/uncensorednews is a real thing.

We need it, apparently. It's pretty obvious some subs are autocratic and without any sense of the gravity of certain news stories.

r/fknnewz. Get Deek Jackson to moderate

Why are you holding stocks now? Everyone has known about brexit for at least a minute. Common sense demands a pull out.

Let's discuss how to make some bank off of this shiet. Come on guys... this is /r/conspiracy. Who's got the goods? By goods I mean trading info.

Why a ban and not a deleted post?

I questioned the rhetoric. I was actually very polite, I guess they didn't want any back talk.

idk bro but /u/whippitgud or something has already posted that story in /r/news ... I just checked
