Immortal Technique

72  2016-07-21 by LightBringerFlex

I just found this rapper who breaks down politics in almost every single one of his songs. Lots of insight in the lyrics and excellent rapping at the level of Tupac.

Check him out on youtube. Here's a sample.

"Democracy is just a word when the people are starvin"

Immortal tech is one of the best. Been listening to him for years.

Want a good one? Listen to "The 4th Branch"

Ya, I have heard that and I'm amazed. This guy knows how to dig deep like Tupac. Pretty incredible rap and political too so its relevant.

What you're looking for, if you haven't already found it, is Revolutionary Volume I and II. Many, many great tracks. I'll warn you, some are a bit more "real" than others (i.e., Dance with the Devil).

I personally love listening to the Poverty of Philosophy and Homeland and Hiphop, but Cause of Death has one of my favorite verses (Verse 3) and least favorite (Verse 1).

Verse (3):

And just so Conservatives don't take it to heart

I don't think Bush did it, 'cuz he isn't that smart

He's just a stupid puppet taking orders on his cell phone

From the same people that sabotaged Senator Wellstone

The military industry got it poppin' and lockin'

Looking for a way to justify the Wolfowitz Doctrine

And as a matter of fact, Rumsfeld, now that I think back

Without 9/11, you couldn't have a war in Iraq

Or a Defense budget of world conquest proportions

Kill freedom of speech and revoke the right to abortions

Tax cut extortion, a blessing to the wealthy and wicked

But you still have to answer to the Armageddon you scripted

And Dick Cheney, you fuckin leech, tell them your plans

About building your pipelines through Afghanistan

And how Israeli troops trained the Taliban in Pakistan

You might have some house niggaz fooled, but I understand

Colonialism is sponsored by corporations

That's why Halliburton gets paid to rebuild nations

Tell me the truth, I don't scare into paralysis

I know the CIA saw Bin Laden on dialysis

In '98 when he was Top Ten for the FBI

Government ties is really why the Government lies

Read it yourself instead of asking the Government why

'Cuz then the Cause of Death will cause the propaganda to die..

These lyrics are no joke. This rapper has some deep access to vocabulary and clarity into society.

this one is my favoirte Peruvian Cocaine ..it tells a POV story from the laborer/workers involved in the cocaine trade

Plus the hook!

Yeah. He is the Zachary de la rocha of hip hop with better rhymes lol.

Without 9/11, you couldn't have a war in Iraq

The Iraq debacle started long before 9-11

Yes, but the point still stands.

I think he's talking about the 2nd war.

To me he doesn't dig deep enough. But he's still an excellent rapper and sends the message of knowledge out there, in a "revolutionary" kind of way.

One of the best out there, for certain.

Dude check out "Rich Man's World" it's a gagnsta rap song from the point of the 1%... here's the lyrics:

Arthur Jensen: "You get up and howl about america and democracy. There is No america there is no democracy, We no longer live in a world of nations And ideologies. The world is a college of corporations... Inexorably Determined by the... Immutable bylaws of business. The world is a business.

Bin Laden will always be my favorite. Put it on a mix with this one from Virtuoso back in the day.

no one in the US is starvin'

Really dude?

In 2014: 48.1 million Americans lived in food insecure households, including 32.8 million adults and 15.3 million children. 14 percent of households (17.4 million households) were food insecure. 6 percent of households (6.9 million households) experienced very low food security.

bullshit dude...nobody is starving. You can go to dozens of places in any city that will give you something to eat.

We have a bigger problem if people don't think the US is in poverty. There ARE people who are struggling to put food on the table. You sir, don't know the have of it with your privileged life.

1 in 6 people in America face hunger.

The USDA defines "food insecurity" as the lack of access, at times, to enough food for all household members. In 2011, households with children reported a significantly higher food insecurity rate than households without children: 20.6% vs. 12.2%.

Food insecurity exists in every county in America. In 2013, 17.5 million households were food insecure. More and more people are relying on food banks and pantries. Collect food outside your local supermarket for a local food bank. Sign up for Supermarket Stakeout GL.

49 million Americans struggle to put food on the table.

In the US, hunger isn’t caused by a lack of food, but rather the continued prevalence of poverty.

Sigh. My life is not privileged in any way. I work hard for what I have. My van is 15 years old, so let's dispense with the fake wealth envy, yes?

Most people who don't have a fridge bursting with ice cream and leftover lobster DO have: a smartphone, at least one TV, cigarettes, beer, and at least one tattoo. Most 'poor' people are not poor by Third-World standards. Yes, many kids do go to bed hungry, because their parent(s) are drunk or high as shit. But in my small town, I know of at least 3-4 places I could get free food if I wanted it.

But America is not a democracy....

it is based on democratic principles.

Democratic principles and democracy aren't the same thing. Either way listen to this mans music. He is one of the greatest lyricists of all time and not just for his brilliant use of words but for his topics and beliefs.

Any else that is curious about this man I recommend listening to interviews. I can listen to him talk for days. It's these kind of people we really need to stand behind.

And I'll bet he is voting for HRC too, because she's a Dem.

Check out his song Dance with the Devil. That song still gives me the chills. Got to see him in concert and talk to him afterwards, cool dude.

Check out Brother Ali and Rhymesayers.

I hadn't heard them, thanks! This Brother Ali shit hits hard.

How about Paris?

The Devil Made Me do it Yo!

Freedom Ain't Free and Uncle Sam Goddamn are two great ones. Totally recommended him before seeing this post.

you JUST found IT?... lol

The Martyr is absolutely free. Blast that shit.

https://www.viperrecords.com/product/immortal-technique-the-martyr-free-mp3/

Some of his music is racist as fuck tho.

I don't think it's racist, and if it is I don't give a fuck. Technique is the best rapper in the game now.

That album's SAF

I'd say best in the game at the moment is killer Mike an El-p run the jewels. Tech hasn't released new music in ages

I'll check them out

Immortal Technique has been talking about releasing 'the Middle path" for years. I did see that documentary on him and he seems like he's busy with that school in Afghanistan he founded.

Lol. Lot of seasoned rap fans in here....

Haha, it's even funnier coming from the inner city of NYC.

I just found this rapper...

Jesus. You've just heard of IT? I don't even like rap and I've heard of the dude.

I made some songs like this recently too. You might like "Woke" in particular

Woke - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecEirfa8_go

Secret Society - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIe4e9-NM0Q

All of these songs are on soundcloud too at soundcloud.com/braindeadgroup

Damn, that's some flow. I'm digging "wake the fuck up"

Wake the fuck up I'm bout to shake this shit up You ate this shit up It's all faker than fuck

Saw him at LA Rising, with Rage and Muse.

He gave a speech about being tough, the time is not when people get in your face at the bar, or act hard; when someone is taking a woman down an alley by her hair on the other hand...

The LA Colosseum erupted in thunderous standing ovation.

Land of the gun, obnoxious, dance with the devil all well worth a listen even if youve never heard him before

Any high profile performe nowdays is "in the group"

Dance with the devil is deep as fuck.

Cliffs:

He raped his own mother.

Why spoil such a good story?

"Trapped in a ghetto region like a Palestinian kid. Where nobody gives a fuck whether you die or you live. I'm tryin to get the truth and I know the price is my life. But when I'm gone they'll sing a song about immortal technique. Who beheaded the president and the princes and sheiks. They don't give a fuck about us. I can see through your facade. Like a fallen angel standing in the presence of God."

Immortal Technique is the real deal. He's without doubt the best lyricist and rapper ever, IMO. If anyone knows anyone any where near as good as him, I'd like to know...

I put killer Mike up there. Check out "Reagan" or "Untitled" or hit up run the jewels every song

If you dig Immortal Technique's The 4th Branch and are looking for something new to add to the playlist check out Brother Ali's "freedom ain't free" and "uncle sam goddamn"

Check out Diabolic, Jedi Mind Tricks, Apathy, Celph Titled or even snowgoons. They commonly rap about conspiracy theories and shit. I heard Diabolic spit some line about "since william cooper died" and was sooo stoked

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZPtbW5CAlY

Best conspiracy track ever was Canibus "Channel Zero"

The ultimate conspiracy rap song: Tiller Wills.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNHOUrYFj70

You should look for the video of how he got his name out there. Dude put in work.

can't wait till you make a thread on Lupe Fiasco.

immortal tech is def a revolutionaire. check out non phixion and older jedi mind tricks preferably p.c.b.e. manipulation of human consciousness for some other thought provoking hip hop. they dont go the distance immortal tech does but still pretty good.

You want to see the guy live. He cane the UK a year or two ago and i went to the show.

Its half music and half him talking to the audience about all the stuff he has knowledge on.

Hes inspirational but also begs the question how he had such a huge following and exposure and can get away with saying all this stuff.....

This song is absolutely stunning. I didn't like his other songs so much, but this one is just an unknown all time great. Tiller wills...

Have you been under a rock?

I had lost faith in many of the new rappers so I wasn't following rap like I used to. Finally found some entertaining rap when looking for "political rap" on youtube.

You

Just found him?

Lol.

Yup. I didn't even know about him oddly enough.

Lol ignore these snobs, all that matters is that you found him.

good rapper

stupid fucking communist

The 4th Branch

Even though he's Peruvian

Been listening to them for years!

Them?

Oh Jesus. You know what I meant.

Hes not that great of a wrapper.

Few humans are. You want something flatter, like a flying squirrel.

Manta ray for something bigger, like a home entertainment system or a bread maker.

True. But he's a great rapper.

Democratic principles and democracy aren't the same thing. Either way listen to this mans music. He is one of the greatest lyricists of all time and not just for his brilliant use of words but for his topics and beliefs.
