Why would you need drone weapons when there could just have been a problem during fueling or some part of the satellite with issues? The previous issue was a defective strut - supply chain is VERY IMPORTANT in rocketry, and the supply chain in projects like this is complicated. Much simpler to have an issue in the supply chain or a double-agent somewhere along the line (think Cisco switches manufactured and flashed in China, for example) than for space aliens or drones to be agents of sabotage.

I think we need to remember that there is a very large distance between saying that something (even if it was anomalous, unidentified, or so far unexplained) blew up the Facebook satellite on the one hand, and going directly to the extraterrestrial intervention hypothesis on the other. All we know is that the satellite was shot down by something. We do not have any evidence (at least that I can see) that the object responsible was definitely or certifiably extraterrestrial.
