Text from link: "It is therefore possible to manipulate the nervous system of a subject by pulsing images displayed on a nearby computer monitor or TV set. For the latter, the image pulsing may be imbedded in the program material, or it may be overlaid by modulating a video stream, either as an RF signal or as a video signal. The image displayed on a computer monitor may be pulsed effectively by a simple computer program. For certain monitors, pulsed electromagnetic fields capable of exciting sensory resonances in nearby subjects may be generated even as the displayed images are pulsed with subliminal intensity."
What are your thoughts on this?

Probably just Baader-Meinhof phenomenon but I feel like I've seen an increasing number of things very similar to some aspects of the book Snow Crash, specifically the use of some kind of sensory input as a means to manipulate the body and or mind via the neurological effects of said sensory input. Your reference sums it up nicely, The Mind Has No Firewall.
The idea is if you understand how the brain responds to input on a low level, not unlike computers, then you can design input exploiting that knowledge to produce the desired output. Hacking the brain.
Edit: /u/trytheCOLDchai that username my dude haha

It's the top comment from the previous thread! I don't know much about it but it's very interesting.

Seems like a computer can be just as bad though.
1 faddat 2016-09-27
It can be, sure.
Run linux, god damn it.
Run fucking linux, I cannot stress this enough, okay?
1 mindlessblur 2016-09-27
Why does Linux make such a difference?
1 faddat 2016-09-27
Because essentially, the linux development process doesn't leave any gaps to enable a malicious actor to try and use user's computers as a tool to control the user. Also, the theme of users being controlled is in fact why RMS went out and built the GNU tools.
Just-- use linux.

Remember, just because you can patent something doesn't mean it works. Of course, why waste time and money patenting fake bullshit?
2 sylian 2016-09-27
I've seen people spend a fortune and patent stupid shit just because they believed they would be millionaires. I'm sure you can manipulate human brain but that doesn't mean that whatever this person patented works at all.
1 Billsucksass 2016-09-27
Stupid being the operative word here. This guy seems highly intelligent so I doubt his patents are just the ramblings of an idiot. Also the fact that Daarpa can do insane things to your brain with technology so its very belivable that anything is possible.
Mind control, manipulation and damage is no good for anyone it serves zero purpose in a democracy of anykind. It is a tool of slavery and domination nothing more.

So, just coming from a slightly different angle here:
While this may all be true, and disturbing AF, I work in technoland. The patent office hands out patents for no invention whatsoever. This is how stuff like apple vs. Samsung came to be.
But god damn, that guy has some creepy patents.
n/a SickOfIt518 2016-09-27
I heard a rumour there's mind control stuff in the videos but never saw any stories on it.

Its like a page out of the movie "they live"
7 Licalottapuss 2016-09-27
And nobody flinched when television switched to digital. This stuff has been around a long time though. You can use it to your advantage though.... It ain't all bad.
1 Rochester05 2016-09-27
How does the average person use this to their advantage?
1 Licalottapuss 2016-09-27
Subliminal messages/influences need not be bad.. Just like hypnosis through another person. It can help people overcome fears, stop smoking, gain confidence, etc. Sad part is most people only think in negative terms so that is all they see. They have good reason though and I'm not defending the actions of others. All I am saying is that the tech has been out there for a while. The TV has been using the signals to shit ends since they went digital. That's when I gave up any tv.
1 Rochester05 2016-09-27
Oh sure, I can see that. What I meant was how could involuntary exposure to unknown messages be used to our benefit. But that wasn't what you were saying.
7 ARYAWILLKILLYOU 2016-09-27
As you go through Mr Loos' patents, make sure to look at the Patent Citations and References at the bottom. When patents are referenced, that means the tech has been integrated into a new product or improved upon. One example: Pat. US 6017302 for Subliminal acoustic manipulation of nervous systems, is referenced by Pat. US8403106- Raytheon's Man-portable non-lethal pressure shield. Some weird stuff here.
6 Hartleh 2016-09-27
Just a quick thought i had, when you try to talk to people about whats happening in the world and conspiracy theories etc, and they have none of it and just instantly shut you down and claim its bullshit. Could this be the manipulation that's coming from televisions etc?
5 ALessonNeverLearned 2016-09-27
It could be possible. Something people say a lot is "oh really? Then why aren't there news reports about it?" Uhm, well maybe because the government controls the media and they only allow us to see what they want us to...
3 Hartleh 2016-09-27
Yeah and then you link them to a news article from a non corrupt site and they instantly claim its fake. I'm like "Ohh, so only CNN or BBC tells the truth?" Fuckwits.
2 ALessonNeverLearned 2016-09-27
Yep. You're spot on.
5 petrus4 2016-09-27
That if I want an excuse to curl up into a foetal position on the floor over the current state of the world, such isn't hard to find. If you want some truly top quality fear porn, try this on for size.
Sleep tight, and don't let the NSA bite.

We are electrical beings first and foremost and all of our life processes and thinking abilities can be altered with rf and electrical/magnetic signals. It is sad that some humans have exploited this but we are in the time of the end and they are trying everything they can to keep in control of the populations.
3 II-Neutron 2016-09-27
In deed who is Hendricus G. Loos?
3 hillbilly_joe 2016-09-27

3 TheMadRocker 2016-09-27
No patents are given unless the military approves it first. Look up patent secrecy order and here is the invention secrecy act . Anything that can be remotely turned into a weapon the government will quash and steal.
2 Lo0seR 2016-09-27
Move along, nothing to see here..... Like the NDAA, your link proves that the system is RIGGED!
2 neoplasticism 2016-09-27
This would only work with a CRT TV or monitor.
0 Billsucksass 2016-09-27
how do you know it ONLY works on CRT. Thats 13 years ago alot has changed in the world of science and technology
4 neoplasticism 2016-09-27
Because of the nature of CRTs vs LCD screens in relation to electro magnetic voltage. Read about how a CRT works vs an LCD ... the patent doesn't translate.
0 Billsucksass 2016-09-27
Anything can be translated. The point is they consider technology and science like this worthwhile when its only real application is mind control and domination. Thats the worrying thing to take away
Would you like to live in a world where you can't trust your own thoughts and emotions, because we are already there and its only going to get more dangerous and widespread.
2 dilth9898 2016-09-27
Would this work on a LCD?
It seems like a CRT is required
2 ALessonNeverLearned 2016-09-27
I'm not sure. But since this patent is from 2003, I'm guessing they might have been able to advance it since then.
2 strunberg 2016-09-27

2 Gimmie_2_Dollars 2016-09-27
I posted this last night. I have also posted several other things. Am I shadowbanned
2 ALessonNeverLearned 2016-09-27
Wouldn't that mean you couldn't comment either though?
1 Gimmie_2_Dollars 2016-09-27
I thought it was I could comment but no one sees it. Banned banned is where you cannot comment. Unless this has changed that drastically in the few months I have been gone.
2 DelaMar135 2016-09-27
if this is applied to VR, its all bad. VR is just hitting the mainstream will be everywhere in no time
