She's also a presidential candidate, and was the secretary of state. Have any of those been criminally investigated? Because I bet they have. She's a little more involved than just being first lady
She was also a Senator too don't forget. But as first lady, before all those other things, she was investigated for the travel office scandal, which resulted in a finding of wrong doing, for stealing items from the white house which resulted in findings of wrongdoing and a financial settlement. Neither of those were necessarily criminal investigations, but she was criminally investigated for her unlawful actions involving the whitewater real estate scandals and financial fraud. The OIC's report concluded that she definitely was complicit in criminal activity, but those were intentional crimes (require criminal intent to be criminal) and might have a hard time proving intent because of destroyed evidence, and that their final decision not to indict and prosecute was based on the fact that she was the first lady and they therefore didn't feel they could get a truly impartial jury that wouldn't be swayed by the fact that she was the sitting first lady. So yah, just as first lady she was investigated plenty, at least once criminally, and the investigators thought she was guilty but didn't prosecute.
