A subset of the 7 new moderators of /r/wikileaks are just learning how to use Reddit

She sounds like an bitchy unpleasant person.

Wonder who she's voting for... /s

How do moderators get selected? I thought they had to be appointed by other moderators? How do we go about protecting subreddits against infiltration?

If you believe the claims, random people just happened to "ask" to be made moderators in order to "help out" the sub.

It's so obvious that that sub has been taken over.

I've written a few posts on it but it's pretty simple. Infiltrate a sub, add new rules with no community input that allow for arbitrary enforcement, then pretend like questions about that happening somehow prove the point that it was necessary.

I wish they'd just say 'we took over the sub to direct the narrative more effectively."

It's weird that there's not more suspicion about this upheaval. But I guess not SO weird, given that there were crickets when the Tor board was swapped out suddenly a few months back...and that's far more important and has much greater/more dangerous implications than a Reddit sub.

What happened with Tor? If all of these channels go dark is IRC the last place to go?

IRC's been infiltrated and tracked for, what, 30 years now? I dunno. I don't think anything will "go dark," it's all already pretty grey.

The only thing you can do if you care is to insert yourself or someone you trust on the boards do you have an ear in modmail.

You are not alone. Others (myself included) are having posts deleted and our users banned for raising legitimate questions.

Everything is pointing to the idea that Wikileaks is compromised, and Julian has been taken.

Look how many mods got added here 1 year ago...

They select by new so that it's easier to push unwanted comments further down with new comments.

is it just me or are the images not displaying for anyone?

I trust you. Is there anything weird going on behind the scenes in /r/wikileaks?

Here, if you can't answer that one, how about this question: If you felt the sub was compromised, would you publicly resign in protest?

I posted this to wikileaks with the request to explain to everyone what's going on... Will let you guys know what happens when it does :)
