I certainly hope you are right. The only thing we can do right now is wait and see what the Trump presidency does. If they do nothing, then we need to start pressuring them for action and answers
Well, that's definitely been true historically. Obama also campaigned on change and said all of the right things, but we've seen how that turned out. That's why I remain so skeptical, but I'm at least willing to give Trump a chance at first. If he fails to live up to his promises of 'draining the swamp' in the first six months of his presidency, then I will turn on him very quickly.
/lol, "How that turned out?" Did you forget about the Repuiblican leaders gathering on the steps of the Capital building the day after the inauguration and announcing they would not allow the newly elected majority Democratic government to govern and proceeded to do just that. Al Franken wasn't allowed his seat until August, after Ted Kennedy went home to die. Do you honestly believe it takes that long for a vote recount?
I try to avoid any labels. I believe we could easily make the world a much better place, but first the consciousness of society needs to be raised. The programs of both democrats and republicans perpetuate a lowered state of consciousness and is why I don't support either.
There is a reason that idea has been promoted for the last several years. Do you believe it because of what you take in from what is called news and online chatter?
I believe it because of my own life experiences and intellectual pursuit of the higher good. Our society has become alarmingly divided because of all of the labels we buy into, whether it be politically, socially, or religiously. There are so many pressing matters that could and should unite humanity toward creating a better world, but instead we find ourselves bickering over issues that are of lesser significance.
If you want to argue my logic and imply that I'm brainwashed by some kind of social programming, that's your prerogative.
Which points, I disagree that there is no difference between a liberal and a conservative government. And I was rude when I asked you why you believe they are the same. Let's just agree we disagree.
I agree that the conservative and liberal ideologies are different, but I don't think the people in power of the GOP and DNC accurately reflect those differences. I supported Jill Stein, who I thought believed in real change. I don't agree with her 100%, but I do feel her message reflected the higher level of consciousness that I was referring to earlier. I just can't support Hillary for the same reasons I was strongly opposed to people like Bush and John McCain. They are all evil in my eyes
I supported Bernie Sanders, but did vote for Hillary even though I believe she is too business friendly. I might harbor FDR/JFK/LBJ liberal ideas, but did feel it was important to not allow a one party government. And one party government is what we now have.
I also don't think third party and write in votes tipped this election, it was stolen, and the theft only more flagrant than in 2000/04 and used the same techniques but in a 50 state, precinct by precinct plan that began for the 2012 election and failed but succeeded this election.
What if she took a dive because she was threatened with exposure? We know she could easily rig the election as she did the primary. Fireworks over Hudson were cancelled the day before. Trump saying now, "don't want to hurt them (Clintons). They are good people". Trump is quickly being sucked into the establishment. Which we know is Oligarchy bought & paid. Why are NYPD silent after very solid evidence was leaked, source was Weiner's laptop? Appears you all are painstakingly chasing what is wrapped with a bow on that computer. That former SoS dept guy seemed to imply they were going to do it that way (YouTube videos).
You raise good questions, and the implications are troubling. I didn't support Trump, but I'm also happy Hillary didn't win. I guess deep down I want to be optimistic that maybe an outsider can bring positive change, but that remains to be seen
except the FBI did almost nothing to change her campaign, that is just her stupid excuse. It is not that she broke the law, it is that someone mentioned it. Fake narrative.
If she was clean and people felt that, the FBI's actions would have helped her. Not only could she claim the pussy card, but then she'd have a fresh victim card. But the public knew all-too-well already that she was the victimizer.
yes but publicly is the only way they could have changed the election as is claimed. I don't think the FBI was hacking voting machines or getting Hillary to do something against her will.
People forget Trump had serious momentum going into Comey's late reveal. Wiki Leaks, Obama Care, Clinton Foundation etc were already starting to take their toll. As matter of fact I was mad at Comey for releasing the letter because I thought it would stifle momentum.
That being said I think Comey had regrets about not investigating Clinton harder from the start. At the same time remember the FBI Director is a status quo position. If the leader of the status quo gets impeached that diminishes the status quo and/or his status as well. Throw in a little patriotic self esteem Comey didn't want to degrade the US by putting a sitting president or potential winner through a criminal investigation.

It makes you feel like you are starting to go crazy the further down the rabble hole you go.

Trump doesn't need to give permission to the FBI to do their jobs.
1 SkepticalFaceless 2016-11-14
Looks like Obama needed to give them permission to me.

Catch 22, we have a one party government, any opposition is now subversive and will dealt with as such.

So I now suspect you aren't liberal.

There is a difference between a government that allows the people to be part of the decisions via elections or other methods
and a government that makes all decisions from the top only.

You're trying to steer this conversation in a completely different direction without actually addressing any of my points.

To be fair, we probably have very little idea about what the FBI is doing internally. We've only seen what is public and what has been leaked.

As some said: "it was in a different reality - the one where he was a contender" Now is a different reality, in which he is a POTUS.

Trump can be finger-print free on this and just let the FBI do its work.

I believe this as well, however that the NSA was the one to leak Podesta's emails.
